  1. Really good preview for me, but not particularly from an AoS stand point (although I really like both Warcry warbands). 40k actually won a reveal for once, and I really like the HH stuff.

I’ve not liked that shadow effect they do any time they’ve tried it and I’m a bit nervous for Shadow Aelves now.

According to the rumors Kroot/Tau are the next 40k faction being released. So there is a chance we get the whole box reveal today. Or they may just reveal the 3 units they teased already.

By their own roadmap Orks definitely seem to be first.

So, bear with me my mad reasoning: if Solar Auxilia is coming, then that means that the shadowy previews from the end of the year were for LVo. then that means everything shown there will be in LVO. THEN that means we're getting them

Well, it means one of the silhouette previews was, it doesn’t necessarily follow that they all are.
I want to see Kroot as much as the next person but Orks and Custodes are before them and I don’t see three whole codex reveals.

They were confirmed to be coming to plastic some time ago, looks like tonight’s the night we get the full preview. Though for all our sakes I hope to god they’re not backported into 40K.

They won’t be, the 30k stuff and 40k stuff are kept pretty separate. You could probably use them for some cool Astra Militarum stuff though.

Having jumped from all the Star Wars games to GW I would say they both have pros and cons.

Legion has a better turn system then AoS, but I would say their combat was a step down. The fact that everything was canced out by rolling crits........ugh

Would of said all the Star Wars games were top tier and worth a try....... then they switched developers and everything went downhill from there lol. They killed armada and spilt the xwing community right down to the bone. The fact that Legion is still good shows how strong the rules were since AMG could not even ****** it up..... yet lol

Also with 4.0 I'm sure they will fix a lot of the issues we all have with the game.

I’ve heard almost nothing but good things about Shatterpoint though. I’ll almost certainly pick it up at some point if only for times when my Star Wars fan Brother is over.

Btw, talking about maps. Something just popped in my head.

The Spanish Wiki (Sigmaroteca) has a couple of sections about maps:

An atlas compiling them all: Atlas de los Reinos Mortales | Sigmaroteca | Fandom

If I am not wrong the atlas includes photoshopped amps of those regions where a map has different smaller ones and they have been put together when possible.

And a section with interactive maps: Mapas interactivos | Sigmaroteca | Fandom

I always read the Spanish wiki as ‘Sigmar Erotica’, and people do keep saying they want more AoS books…

Personally I also don’t want to see DoK rolled in with the Malerion faction. I want the Malerion shadow elves to be their own weird thing. And honestly I’ll be really disappointed if they’re basically the shadow elves from Daughters of Khaine but as a faction, they’ve had two goes at them now and both just leave me really cold.

I do hope there's more for us than just a Morghast character and a teaser of book 5. Seems very light tbf. Also, expecting to see Kroots more than Custodes and Orks.

There's been a rumour about plastic Mandrakes ?

Curious why you’re expecting Kroot before Custodes and Orks? I really want to see the Kroot, but Custodes and Orks are both before Tau on the roadmap, and I don’t see them showing 3 whole releases. If we get any Kroot I imagine it’ll just be one as a tease.

Second edition didn't get revealed until Warhammer fest. Third got caught up in COVID, so a new AoS edition has never been shown at Adepticon. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't anything of 4th edition shown at Adepticon. It has always felt like a 40k centric show. It  depends on whether there is anything coming for AoS 3rd after Dawnbringers 5.

40k 10th was shown at Adepticon last year. Assuming the release dates are similar to last year, the preview date will probably also be similar, so Adepticon is the logical place for the reveal. I think GWs reveal schedule for a new edition last year is a better guess than the reveal schedule specifically for AoS but 6 years ago and 3 years ago impacted by a pandemic. We’ll see though!

officially no, but honest wargamer got a rumor that I think Whitefang confirmed.
my money is actually on chaos dwarves being the starter box, but we often get spring and fall releases. We had the whole massive SBGL release in the middle of broken realms right?
I've always thought the skaven rumors were just hopium. 3 editions in a row now they've debuted new armies in the starter box, so I've always been skeptical of a box with two revamps in it. I do hope they get their revamp soon, I just doubt its the starter box.

Why would you take Whitefangs word that Chaos Dwarfs are coming, but not that Skaven are in the starter?

Weird glowy-eyed cat and cane makes me think Rogue Trader or Inquisitor first, rather than anything Age of Sigmar, but I'd be delighted to be wrong.

I think the sculpted base means it’s probably Warhammer Underworlds.

Just come over here from the AOS Rumour thread, hello!

Out of interest is there any word on whether TKs are going to get any new plastic models, or are they just getting the resin stuff as far as we know? I know there were rumours about a new Chariot TK and Mummies but I have a feeling that they were untrue

The dragon is plastic. Doesn’t seem like they’re getting anything else in the near future.

I don't know about smaller numbers. I collect two AoS armies StD and CoS. When I start on my Bretonnian army, I don't know if the actual numbers of mini's will be much more than my CoS army. It depends on your army and your battline choices. Our group plays 2000 point AoS battles. The CoS army I am working on will have two reinforced units of Steelhelms. So I am not certain if the actual numbers of 2000 point battles for both systems will be so different.

I.e WoC and StD or BoK, If you chose marauders / warcry warbands or blood reavers you need a huge amount of mini's on the battlefield.

Anyway my 2024 plan is to start finally a painting blog for my AoS and TOW stuff and than we will see how big the difference is in the amount of mini's needed. 🙂

I think I saw the two army boxes (Bretonnia and TK) are like 1250 points? I think TOW will definitely be larger numbers.

  13. Shamefully nothing really AoS on the slate currently. In all my years in the hobby I’ve not actually built and painted a full force of anything, I tend to flit between projects, buying stuff, building some, painting less. I’m planning to try and knuckle down and get a full force done (a 2000pt list of Heresy Death Guard). I’ve just finished off a couple of tester models and while I didn’t love the painting process still, it feels doable. I also see a Tau force in the horizon if the Kroot rumours pan out (which they seem to be doing).

I would like to settle on an AoS force later in the year if I actually get the rest done for once though. Seraphon, Cities of Sigmar, Flesh Eater Courts and Lumineth Realm Lords are all contenders, plus seeing what else comes out for AoS!

Made to order does not appear on the sheets.

No, the Knights on Foot (the new plastic ones, nothing made to order) are on the price sheet but not in the article. What you’re talking about would be the other way round.

It will be for later this year. I’m honestly surprised that they are releasing as much as they have said. I was expecting just the big army boxes.

Now the question is, will this be well supported and played in the community? I’m quite excited but will probably only focused on the rule book at first as not sure I’d play it as much as I’d like 😭

They’re on the price list though, so presumably coming now.

  16. Really difficult year for mini of the year for me this year. I guess because it’s Forge World Fulgrim Transfigured isn’t an option or he’d probably win, but after that it’s pretty stacked in AoS’s favour. Angron or the Lion will probably win overall though.

  17. Couple of pages late but the new Varghulf is probably my favourite model of the new range (behind Ushoran of course). It really reminds me of the wendigo from Until Dawn but bigger and meaner (actually looking again I think normal Ghouls are closer to the wendigo in the game but there’s something about the posture and expression)
