I find it interesting that after the book, every key content creators were saying that BCR kind of got shafted by the new book and Gutbusters got really improved. Yet, all the winning lists I see in tournaments are almost entirely consisted of BCR and huge beasts. I'm following a few channels as well on YouTube that are specialized in Ogors because they've been playing them for a long time and it really seems BCR is the way to go in the current meta. As a new comer who also really likes the foot Ogors, I wish the Gutbusters side would also be at least as competitive as the BCR.
Would be curious to hear what are your thoughts on this? Maybe I'm totally wrong, I often am.
That being said, it's really amazing to see a Mawtribes player win with 5-0. Really happy for him and us.
It's more like Stonehorns are good I think. I'd be really interested to learn how Nathan played that list, especially the mournfang units.

A player called Nathan Watson just won Tempest 2020 with this Eurlbad list:
He went 5-0 and played another Mawtribes round 1 (a jorlbad + skal). Both players took some variant of thermalrider stonehorn.
Round 2 was vs Beasts of Chaos.
Round 3 was vs the 3rd place Tzeentch player. Who took like 18 flamers in a changehost.
Round 4 was vs the 6th place Slaanesh player.
Round 5 was the 2nd place Tzeentch guy.

Should I use riderless spiderfang grots as frost sabre proxies? And convert an icebrow hunter with spidery bits from the unused grots to ambush with them? Huh, should I?

Double post because I'm 200% certain

Hoping it's a Braggoth (Of Braggoth's Beasthammer) Varduk upgrade sprue for the stonehorn with an alternate head, armour and of course rider.

It can't be for Ogors; surely any self-respecting Ogor would have eaten the skulls as well.
Tasty as they might be, those morsels are common decoration for Beastclaw Raiders

Destruction vs Destruction
Meatfist vs Boulderhead
On the Gutbusters side:
- A new Overtyrant model, Globb Glittermaw
- 8 Ironguts
On the Beastclaw Raiders side:
- 1 Stonehorn with a Braggoth Varduk upgrade sprue
- 4 Mournfang Cavalry

Ok, but in this case you need a minimum of two units of frost sabres, he only have one. 😉
Dang! Let me try again.
Skal is there too. That isnt nearly as satisfying haha

Consider mostly Guts with a FLoSH or two.
What are we thinking the (double) stonehorn plus gutbusters list consists of then?

I think this is a great point, but maybe the takeaway should be different. @Elephant_fresh consider working in Thundertusks as their ranged mortal wound output is unbelievable, which is great against large units with good saves! Furthermore the stone horns have rend -2 on the best weapon, so its not to horrible against a 3+ save.
I'm thinking about a similar list and will be sure to post once I refine things a bit!
Their ranged output is unbelievable. Unbelievably underwhelming!!!! You're lucky to do 6 mortal wounds against a unit of 20., you used to just do 6 anyway, regardless of unit size. And it costs you between 300 and 390 points for a monster than doesnt do anything well. Pretty awful honestly. Think most of us have shelved the thundertusk at this point tbh.

How have underguts done for people? That seems like the most skewed list, but to me looks like the strongest. Hard to deal with for some armies at least. I think in the long run, this is where I'm heading.... I almost think the rhinoxes are a trap and you just want more leadbelchers. Stationary leadbelchers actually outshoot ironblasters, even with the command ability, and are both sturdier and fight harder in melee. Shorter range though. I think even with the command ability
I love my leadbelchers very much and love them even more in underguts. But why is it that I feel guilty for not taking ironblasters with them? I feel like I'm 'wasting' the command ability if I don't bring them in a list.
I dont even like the model that much tbh and I feel like instead of taking 4 of them I could just have 12 more leadbelchers.
Ironblasters, I feel like our first instinct upon seeing the new warscroll was: "oh its still bad." Maybe we were right the first time?
For me you need a gutguard to take trophy rack so you can hit on 3s and not feel so swingy. (Its nice on the leadbelchers too) but I feel like those units should hit on 3s in shooting anyway. Trophy rack just makes me want to bunch up in that little bubble.

Ogors feel pretty isolated in destruction. Orruks and Grots can ally to eachother pretty freely. All Mawtribes have is Troggoths and Gargants.
Hopefully some kind of Gargant army pops up that gives me more allies.

Selling off excess arkanauts. Not a fan of the new warscroll so don't want as many! All still in shrink wrap, never opened or used.
Asking for £70 including postage.

This is wonderful. Made my day. Only thing I would change would to be to fit in a slaughtermaster. Otherwise, it's amazing.
Honestly the only reason I dont have one is because it didnt feel right to waste that Winterbite command trait, hence the hunter and cats.

Yup, I think Ogors make a very strong approach for this and it opens up a MSU approach (multiple small units) that fwe other armies can pull off well.
I've not had many games yet but my Underguts built around 8 units of two Leadbelchers is tearing up the tables and wiped out everyone I've faced.
Latest version I ran was:
FLoSH, General (Mass of Scars, Gnoblar Blast Keg)
Fire Bell, Billowing Ash
3 Units of 3 Gluttons with Iron Fists
4 Iron Blasters
8 Units of 2 Leadbelchers
I've been double turned early in every game with basically every unit being a screen and Billowing Ash protecting the Frostlord and Ironblasters, it hasn't really mattered. So may armies just struggle to take down that many units and with almost all of them having both Melee and Ranged threat it's very hard to play against. Help that you can easily screen out any teleportation as your Leadbelchers don't need to be close to each other to provide support, so you can screen out massive parts of the board without sacrificing much.
Honestly I started Underguts as a more casual alternative to my Slaanesh, but they are turning out to be a power house.
This MSU style intrigues me. Right now I'm reading about the new Tzeentch Flamers, and how horrific their shooting power can be. Obscene firepower.
I feel like we could be in for a shooting meta. With changehost teleporting flamers and high-flying KO skyvessels popping up in our faces, maybe... just maybe, it's time to try Winterbite.
MSU by itself is a pretty good way to blunt massed shooting, but a -1 to hit on top of that doesn't hurt. Here's a dumb list I had in mind:
Allegiance: Ogor Mawtribes
- Mawtribe: Winterbite
Leaders
Icebrow Hunter (120)
- General
- Trait: Wintertouched
- Artefact: Frostfang
Firebelly (120)
- Lore of the Sun-Eater: Billowing Ash

MY guess is more stable shooting platform but I’m unsure if this logic stands well in reality
my second (more accurate) guess is a way to balance out arks on objectives. Giving them less reach means they have less board presence and as such can’t abuse long range plus 1 to hits
its a little unwarranted as it’s 1 weapon but I understand the strength as a person who has used melee armies. For instance on the siege scenario, a melee army can’t leave their unattended (especially when our whole army can attack it potentially) so they need to literally give up use of some of their army just to keep the objective. With guns you can add damage and keep objectives. So range needs to be controlled to a point where it’s fair.
Fair assessment. Wish they'd at least given them different names then. Like Aethermatic Rotor Cannon or something for the better ones.

I'm 100% with you here. This I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious here, but the New Endrinrigger profile is:
Ranged: 12" 3A 3+/4+ -1 1Damage
Melee: 1" 1A 3+/2+ -2 1D3 DamageIt's 2 skyhooks+4 pistols he's talking about.

So why is it that the aethermatic volley gun has a different range depending on which unit is wielding it? I get having different hit rolls but...
The most offending one to me is comparing the Arkanaut Company and Thundrik's Profiteers. Both models are privateers with the same gun, why the 6" discrepancy? Is Enrik Ironhail that bad of a dude?

So are great endrinworks like mount traits or are they just artefacts for ships?
Say for whatever reason I went without a sky port for my army: I'd have my choice of command trait and my choice of one artefact. For my artefact would I have to choose between, say: "spell in a bottle" for my aether-khemist and "Ebullient Buoyancy Aid" for Ironclad? Or could I get both?
Help pls

Do Age of Sigmar armies deserve better rules than leftover WHFB armies?

I'm sure a lot of people feel that the flying dwarf and flying shark armies don't fit the setting 🥴
