  1. DynamicCalories I totally agree but still Elves were one of the most popular armies in Fantasy as well as Death and we already had - two Dwarven factions, 2 big SE releases, few months back huge Tzeetnch release. And still death or elves got nothing - no new Battletomes and only two small minis in WQ Silver Tower.

  2. I just hope Cthulu Aelves are Shadowkin with Malerion.

Seeing what GW is doing I just wonder what they want to do with Tyrion's Aelves, that should be interesting because as he God of Light they may be second "poster good" faction of AoS after SE.

  3. Ok so we got Dwarfs now I want Aelves badly and I think we may not get Shadowkin but some kind of "Marine" Elves (or Shadowkin are this as well) to fight with Dwarfs (they way they released SE after Tzeentch) and then much later on(2018?) we will got conclusion of Slaanesh story arc with Tyrion's Elves and Disciples of Slaanesh.

  4. I'm fine with Kurnoth Hunters going up if other units are tweaked accordingly, because Sylvaneth doesn't have many other units and apart from Battlines there is nothing really interesting considering units.

And heroes aren't that great either as you can't spam them so for examole another TLA isn't that great.

  5. Yep Tyrion is said to be God of Light who is blind but he can see what Teclis sees. Also we already have one picture of Malerion (artwork) and he looks nothing like this.

Also looking how GW releases models it makes sense to release both light aelves and shadowkin in similar time, as they are huge part of the Slaanesh story arc.

I don't know if its relevant at all but have aelves always had solid eyes and such a non flesh tone skin color? Is this a new direction that GW plan on taking the aesthetic or does this seem specifically for this model. It almost looks like a grey goblin or a seraphon.

My bet is Tyrion he is blind now.

  7. Malerion has and artwork and it looks anything like that but that doesn't mean a thing.

But could be Tyrion - sigils of winds of magic makes sense as he is connected to Teclis as well and is blind so that could be his eyes.

Also maybe Araloth is set to make a return ?

  8. Yeah but waht about Lady of the Lake, didn't End Times and AoS fluff changed Bretonnia fluff too much to recover it in any form ? (unlike TK)

There is no reason for Questing Knights, Grail Knights,Green Knight, Errand Knights,Lady wizards etc. to live in AoS setting,

  9. Yep but Seraphon didn't get post GH Battletome with items and lores.

All new Battletomes follow the same pattern (even DoT which is bigger but there is no rules for Chaos Warriors for example) with mix of older and brand new units :

    - items, magic lore

    - certain playstyle

    - less flexibility in army building considering number of units, but those units may have differents uses in certain Battalions.

I think it is much easier to balance Battletomes that way. I doubt we will see huge Battletomes with huge number of units.

  10. Problem with Brettonia is simple - army doesn't have any place in AoS fluff considering, I like idea of a Green Knight but still as a whole there is no place for Bretonnia. Maybe when or if Araloth Elves get a Battletome there will be some kind of Bretonnian ghost units.

Also problem is how to make in line with other Battletomes. Usually Battletomes use limited number of units/characters and that's what I hated about Tomb King unoffical Battletome - too many units and too much flexibility when GW idea is clear considering brand new faction Battletomes - 4-5 new units/leaders + 3-5 older units/leaders. Look at Sylvaneth or rumored Duardin. So unless Bretonnia Battletome is limited to few units it won't work considering how Battletomes are constructed.

  11. Yeah I doubt they will release anything anytime soon for Stormcasts, as they needed new Battletome to be in line with post GH battletomes so they added more minis and much needed repacking of old units.

Now it's time for other armies it's all speculation but I think we may see :

    - Dwarfs - Spring

    - Aelves Shadowkin and Tyrion's Elves along with Slaanesh - Summer

    - and then some Death Battletome maybe along with Nurgle or some Destruction - Holiday.

That would mean 6-7 Battletomes in 2017 which may be too much, but Death could be  moved into 2018

  12. Rogue Explorator Yeah I agree with most what you wrote : couple points

    - I expect Malerion's Shadowkin or whatever those Aelves or other beigns are called to be more like darker 40k Eldar, they are not evil (like DE were) but all they are concerned is their own goals. Working in shadows against Chaos and anybody who is threat to them. I find that far more interesting that old DE cliche - pain, torture, emo stuff.

    - it's tricky how they want to release those factions because all of them - Slaanesh, Aelves, Malerion, Twins are connected in one huge story arc. And I imagine Tyrion Aelves will be different in style and approach to Malerions Elves, but they will have this connection between them not hatred.

    - for sure they will use a lot of exsiting models (that's what they do with every Battletome) I imagine Witch Elves, Dark Riders kits are closest in desgin to Silver Quest heroes, there is possiblity to include Shadow Warriors/Sisters kit as well (with different paint job obviously). As for Tyrion's Elves I guess there is also a lot of kits that can be used - Eternal Guards ? Skycutters ? White Lions ?

I think GW will include those "newer" plastic kits along with new models and Battletomes and they will move away from mini-factions like Lion Rangers or Swifthaws Agents.

  13. Not really I guess GW can "bundle" Shadowkin(Elves of Uglu) with Slaasnesh in story arc and maybe Slaasnesh will get Elves like Tzeentch got Tzaangors 1-2 units + hero. Also I'm sure (going by all releases) that Shadowkin will use some DE units - my wild guess Witch Elves and Dark Riders.

But what's get tricky were "light" Elves fit into this, I doubt that they will be released along with Shadowkin but Tyrion/Teclis are huge in that Slaasnesh story arc as both Malerion and Tyrion are looking for their people - so I guess those Elves found by them in the end will end up as theirs followers. Some will follow Malerion some Tyrion some both. But I guess they will work together against Choas not against each other. Slaasnesh will corrupt some and they will worshipp him/her and be against both "Shadowkin" and "Light Elves"
