That list is illegal, you can only have 1 in 4 units that are allies per 27.1

Nurgle has that juicy 5+ ward save on everything. I would say that still leaves room for a 6+ on only demons in other Chaos armies. If even a dumb skeleton can get a 6+ ward, I don't think we should be too precious about handing them out to "supernatural" entities.

My thinking as well. Plus 6 being Slaanesh number, it fits the lore 😉

  3. I d like to see a ward save for all our deamons as an allegiance ability and the locus of diversion changed.

Here is my take on a new locus for 3.0:

At the end of the charge phase pick an ennemy unit within 3 inches. On a 4+ that unit cannot iissue or receive command in the next combat phase. Greater deamons add +2 to the roll

I'm in the process of gearing up for a really... odd skew list. Our biggest issues (aside from general overcosting) tend to be resilience, and dealing with enemy resilience. So I decided, what the hell, why not lean into mortal wounds to a ridiculous degree:

    Allegiance: Slaanesh
    - Host: Godseekers Host
    - Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery
    - Triumphs: Inspired

    Leaders
Bladebringer, Herald on Exalted Chariot (265)*
    - General
    - Command Trait: Speed-chaser
    - Artefact: Enrapturing Circlet
    - Lore of Slaanesh: Born of Damnation

Bladebringer, Herald on Exalted Chariot (265)$
    - Universal Spell Lore: Flaming Weapon

Synessa, The Voice of Slaanesh (260)*

    Battleline
    1 x Seeker Chariots (130)$
    1 x Seeker Chariots (130)$
    1 x Seeker Chariots (130)$

    Units
    1 x Exalted Chariot (200)*
    1 x Exalted Chariot (200)*
    1 x Exalted Chariot (200)*
    1 x Exalted Chariot (200)*

    Endless Spells & Invocations
    The Burning Head (20)

    Core Battalions
    *Battle Regiment
    $Battle Regiment

    Total: 2000 / 2000 Reinforced Units: 0 / 4 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 83 Drops: 2

Synessa is there to provide a little bit of ranged mortals, as well as to be a flexible way to issue commands to my non-hero exalted chariots. She's also our least expensive source of slothful stupor, which I want to have on hand to counter khorne daemon princes specifically, as their command ability really messes with my capability to do what I need to do.

Are you putting this army together? I have nightmare after the 1st bladebringer I assembled and seeing how there s no way it fits on the oval base it comes with makes me cry

  5. In addition to what has been already stated. One of the problem I have playing hedonites in a tournament setting is that :

1 it requires me a full 3hr to play most of my game to the end while most 1 day event I go to only give us 2.5hrs to play due to store hours so it limits my tournament play with them to 2 day events. Note that I have no problem finishing games in 2.5hrs with other factions I play. This is mostly due to our summoning mechanic I suspect. As opposed to other factions the later turns take longer than the early turns.

2- in the event that the game needs to be talked through to figure out the final score as we are out of time. Our summoning make it almost impossible to be taken into account when not playing the turn and not aleady on the table so we just go by what the score is when the time ends and what is on the table. It has never been in Slaanesh favor. This has been particularly frustrating for me when I see I have enough depravity to turn the tides in the turn we will not play hence issue #1

  6. I think once again it s disappointing that this does not help the factions that need help. Getting extra vps to hunter units if they kill units they can t kill, besides prime hunters destructions faction bringing kragnos, is not going to help

Kragnos in gloomspite gitz and more so in bonespliiterz is getting a buff he sure didn t need since he got a new warscroll

It's a unit that's had a wound allocated to it on the turn and is still there to generate the depravity, not a mini. Doesn't matter if the mini the wound was allocated to is still there or not, the trigger for Depravity in this case is the same thing that triggers the Split and Split Again rule in the first place - a wound or mortal wound being allocated this slays a model and it splits

Guess I ve been giving myself a disadvantage all this time! 😀

    This is not true :)

"At the end of the battleshock phase, you receive 1 depravity point for each unit on the battlefield that had a wound or mortal wound that was not negated allocated to it in that turn, or has fewer models than it had at the start of that turn."

And pink don t meet any of these criteria. There are no wound allocated on models as they are single wound models. And the unit typically ends up with more models after you attacked them than what they had at the start of the turn 😀

  9. Most of the priority targets in this battlescroll are units I cannot kill with my hedonites. As stated above, it will help other armies (not prime hunter ones unless they have kragnos without priority target units themselves) but will this change the competitive lists? I think we ll see less Sob but they were already  trending down struggling against Stormcasts and IJ. IDK is another one that will give them a hard time

Overall,  I m pretty indifferent regarding this update as it s not hurting us either but it is definitely not providing the help we need

It was fun. I had sigvald and 10 symbaresh with +1 hit/wound and reroll hits) go into 20 pinks. They did 75 damage. It's crazy they could put out that much damage. Crazy still is how the pinks still didn't manage to die.

And worse pinks don t even give depravity because they don t count as being slained until they are down to brimstones only

Just a couple rules questions guys:

Sigvald's 'fight first at the start of the combat phase if he's charged'. Does this mean I can attack with him, and then immediately with another unit if it's my turn? If not, what's the benefit of this?

The Keeper's CA. Can I use it to make Sigvald immediately attack after his start of the combat phase activation? Or do I have to wait until my next activation, after the opponent's? Does it also count as a full activation in itself?

    Cheers!

    Yes to all three questions

  12. I have reduced my book purchase quite a bit. While I bought some in digital and other in paper in the past, I have yet to use any codes for the digital content we pay for when buying the aos 3 battletomes. I really hope they will revisit this code with paper purchase model. In the mean time I ll buy a lot less

I only purchased the orruk warclan tome because I was able to get it at the aos 2 tome price while I also own a stormcast and an idoneth army, I have no intention to purchase their new battletomes at this new price

You obviously don't play Ironjaws  😆

If I got paid a $1 for every one of my warchanters shot off the board, I could fund an entire new AoS army

They have the biggest target on their backs. But I also like to go after the Weirdnob shaman! 😀

    Savage Spearhead

-We're fast enough that the opponent's territory, especially in the late game, is practically free real estate.

-Another "in case of emergency select battle tactic" choice, which is best saved for when you've exhausted all your sure bets in priority tiers one and two. You don't want to fire this one off early when you could've capitalized on a more specific opportunity and end up having to pick uphill fights as your endgame choices. Learn from my failures.

Great post,  thanks for sharing. Let s not forget savage spearhead, monstruous take over and ferocious advance cannot be achieved by summoned units as they specify units from your starting army. I usually select savage spearhead early on for that reason with monstruous takeover and eventually ferocious advance if I don t have anything better to do

    Extra points:

Broken ranks - Likely the easiest.I tend to see if a battleline has already sustained damage or if I can concentrate fire to get that one. We don t have very killy units like other books do to guarantee this one. If the opportunity is there, I ll favor a monster to attenpt to finish it off. Don t forget the spell to turn into a monster for this one

Bring it down - more poiints as you re also killing a monster and get a bonus point here. Same idea as broken ranks. Our army is typically unable to kill the big monsters from full health. I ll deal some damage in previous turn and select the tactic later on, killing units in multiple turns play alos toward our depravity generation. Again, spell to turn into a monster can net you that extra point here

Slay the warlord - Many armies have now god like characters counting as a second general although slay the warlord applies to their chosen general. I ll tend to not even bother with that one until the end unless I see an opportunity and there are no other general in the army so my opponent effectively loses a CP per turn. Lurid haze is great for that against opponent who take cheap support piece as their general and screen poorly but it s pretty rare

    List building

My favorite  monster we can take: Belakor (need to try Synessa soon bur dark master is so key as our army typically cannot survive a double turn and belakor helps with that a ton)

My chosen general : Glutos(our command trait and artefacts are bad) He almost never dies. He survived a gotrek at my last event. Opponents underrestimate him because nobody play hedonites and usually lose 2VPs on that one. He does decent damage supports other units cam turn himself into a monster for an extra vp and his warscroll spell is clutch against the big baddies we cannot deal with

Battlelines: our battleines are weak and I typically only prevent my opponent to score broken ranks with a good roll on a redeploy ( I always will spend the cp on the redeploy)

Grand strategy: predators domain is the easiest we can achieve by process of elimination because our summoned units can contribute to its success
