Can anyone convince me to continue Dark Harvest? I'm in chapter 14, so pretty much in the middle of the (audio)book. Nothing interesting happened yet and I am losing interest. The last scenes were

Blackwood meeting three mysterious dogs and him speaking with Kurnoth. He spend the night in an inn where he and his sidekick found some kind of puppet in their room.

Is this story written in a Blair Witch Project manner? Because I can't listen to 12 more chapters in which a broody protagonist is hardly finding any clues.

"Is this story written in a Blair Witch Project manner?"   I think it is.  I guess it was more of a mundane story.(not counting the end)

If they do not want to evoke reckless abandon, they should not name them "slayers", adopt the aesthetic of the old slayers (which they clearly are inspired by), and call them freaking berzerkers! I mean, c'mon! I read the lore in the battletome, which I had to go back to because your description sounded odd to me. They constantly refer to them as "hot tempered and impulsive", and about how the "dive into hordes of enemies".

The whole mercenary thing sounds shoe-horned to me, honestly.

Nooooo! Oh dear, this is the exact opposite of what I hoped for, which is ideas to rescue a concept that is cool but executed poorly in the eyes of many (if we are to believe the polls). They picked the "slayer" theme because it had a big fanbase; just because they didn't execute it well it doesn't mean it is not still loved!

Oh dear, you want to just make they fyre dwarves and give them crazy high fantasy fyre weapons and mounts? I mean, I get that AoS is a bit about that, but leave us some of us more "austere-loving" guys some room to breath. The amount of grudges in this book... ;)

The sheer amount of books thats Wh40k get is just much bigger. Also looking at AoS. Everyone saying that SCE are in good place just really dont play at the competetive level... This army is in very bad place and the idea itself that big guys clad in armor made from core of the old war their only way to win is to make shooting roster because they are way to weak at melee is disaster. Stormcast doesnt need needs new models. They have enough of it. But they NEED NEW BOOK with fixed warscrolls. Most of the SCE warscrolls were unchanged since edition 0 of AoS, times before first GH.

My sources thats were quite correct in the past says -> Slaanesh -> DoK, Broken Realms 2 ( new LRL) -> Broken Realms 3 -> Broken Realms 4 (  Vampirates for underlord) -> SCE + AoS 3.0 -> Deepkiny i Maggotkin

Armies like Sylvaneth, SCE, NH, LoN are in dire need of new book and yet they focus on Wh40k.

    More new DoK models?

My biggest fingers crossed hope for 3.0 is the introduction of a system like Crusade to the game for narrative play, as well as putting the Anvil of Apotheosis into the core rules for narrative.

As much as I know competetive is often seen as the definitive way to play I just want to have excuses to make custom models to represent an unfolding story.

What is the "Crusade " system ?
