Decided to dust of my Skullcannon again, since I had 150 pts over in my list.
    Turn 1: missed a 2+ to hit...

    Turn 2: missed a 3+ to hit...

Turn 3: Hit!... But failed to wound on a 3+...

Also turn 3, charged in and killed two tzaangors. And then shot a unit of skyfires for 5 wounds. :o

Turn 4:  missed another 3+ to hit.

Turn 5: hit and killed 5 blue horrors. yay! >.>

So uh, it just about managed to make its points back, but this is probably the best it has ever performed in a game for me so I'm starting to think it's cursed xD

I really like the model but they're so bad..... I wish they were a little better then I could justify buying them.

I've 4-1 tourneys with 60 Bloodwarriors. Didn't mean it was good. I just got lucky with my pairing, played well and won some critical dice rolls. I very much doubt this single 5 wound model which is exclusively meant for melee was the linch pin in his 4-1 list. Definitely a fun combo, but I just don't think this is the most efficient way to win.

1200 points of blood wars.... wow.

After my 3 battles against nighthaunts, skullreapers are the way to go. The combinaison saturation of no-rend attacks + mortal wound make them really efficient against nighthaunts. I had good sucess with my Gore Pilgrim against very good nightaunts list (3x30 grimghast, hurgh) and i will try the skulltake.

Bloodreavers are useless against them, but bloodwarriors can do some work.

what makes bloodwarriors better against them?

Honestly I’ve been thinking about Khorne differently, as more of like a World Eaters get into melee ASAP and move forward.

In that way I’ve decided maybe Bloodsecrator isn’t exactly as super needed as everyone seems to think. However I’m not very good at the game so I could be wrong, but I’ve been building lists without one and I’m looking forward to trying them out.

I’m excited to see what a super monster Khorgorath will do. Potential of 18 wounds no Bloodsecrator. Hitting and wounding on 2’s rerolling 1’s. I think it has potential to be filthy.

I think the big issues is battleshock unless youre running tons of small units.

You'll be missing a bunch of good cards in both decks. Can you still be competitive? Depends on your meta, really. Personally, I find the Farstrider expansion more valuable. The dwarfs give you Precise Use of Force, Earthquake, Fuelled by Fury, Ready for Action, Trap, Light Armour, Shifting Image, and Shadeglass Axe, as well as Second-in-Command if you plan to buy the Leader pack, but the Farstriders give you Advancing Strike, Change of Tactics, Defensive Strike, Heroes All, Great Concussion, Improvisation, Inspiration Strikes, Quick Thinker, Shardgale, Spectral Wings, Twist the Knife, A Destiny to Meet, Concealed Weapon, and Incredible Strength. That list of just full of win.

Can you be competitive without those cards? Sure, but not as competitive as you can be if you have them.

Just feels like a waste:( never going to play the models. AH WELL.

Way late to the party, but glitch, I used your deck in a small store tourney and ended up winning.  Thank you for posting it.  Thanks so much!

I really don't want to buy chosen axes and farstriders so are their replacement cards I can use and still be competitive?

    Hey Bloodwarriors,

I am currently writing my list for Throne of Skulls tomorrow.

I was just reading through our battalions to see if I could get a command point but the only three I have the models for are Gore Pilgrims, Dark Feast & Blood Hunt.

I know Gore Pilgrims is the only good one, but I don’t want to be too gamey this is supposed to be a more casual event. I think I will just stay 50 points under for the Command Point. Would that also get me a triumph?

ps. It’s so hard to build and army with the models I like without running out of hero slots ?

Khorne has a lot of good heroes.

    Some other thoughts:

standard deploy is warriors as a center screen, reavers as screen to a side of them and one khorgorath in each flank. Mongers often central behind the warriors. Then characters and letters behind.

    BT with cloak. Just amazing.

    36” secrator. Just amazing.

Stoker. So good. Autoinclude. The reroll 1 to wound extra good on the BT. With frenzy he is 2+ reroll/2+ reroll against heroes. Just kills them with 7 rend2 d3+1 damage.

    Priests. Awsome.

Warriors. So solid. Anvil in the list. Allways deploy them central to screen my army and running up to central objectives.

Reavers. Just tax. Can screen and stand on obectives.

Letters. Just amazing. Insane speed with the autorun 6 command. Kills everything in the game.

Mongers. Just amazing dealing with hardhiting monsters and units like bladed drones. Keep them central.

Khorgoraths. Love them. Good flank unit.

Is this the only viable competitive format?

Got one as part of my AoS stuff present from my parents, and the other one I got for free from a guy that quit shadespire. Without them I would be playing with 140pts less, and I already haev 200pts in CP.

How do they perform? Wouldn't it be better to run reapers or another set of warriors or something instead?

Yeah it could change in our new battletome, but till then or a FAQ it works.

Till then I am playing with this. Seems to work fine, as long as I don't play LoN or seraphon.

whats the purpose of the two named unit at the end?

I just destroyed tonight's tournament at the FLGS with Magore's Murder Friends.
Played best of 1 - three different opponents. Faced Skaven, Lesser Khorne and Orcs. All three warbands were wiped out, two of them before round 3.
Suffice to say I was very pleased with their performance.

To be fair, the orc fight was a close call. Basically what bit me in the *** was that I used so many "score immediately" cards in my deck.
I had been a bit unlucky with my draws and certain events that didn't quite just align with my goals. But the big thing was, that once the orcs were all dead, I couldn't really score all my "immediately" anymore. I had all these insane murders, and they were trapped in an empty room with nothing to do!

I should have put both Annihilation in there!

( I forgot to keep score on the usefulness of Cleave)

Any tips on deck building strategy?
