  1. To be honest, I don't think anyone is. If any french players look at the english version close enough, they'll probably see the rules error and correct it. Besides that, if it comes up to anyone that actually knows how it works, they'll probably also correct the person. It's mostly just a funny translation error.
  2. By four total spells, he means the 3 from Lore of Invigoration (Speed of Lightning, Celestial Blades, and Aspect of Terror) and Empower, for 4 total spells
  3. As AwareTheLegend said, Malign Sorcery has all the realm artefact rules for the 7 playable realms. As for why people don't use the realm rules, they're pretty unbalanced. In the realm of shadow, 3 of the 6 results reduce the range of shooting and magic to 6", 12" or 18", significantly nerfing shooting heavy armies. So a lot of people just skip them since they're unbalanced and far too random to plan for. However, if you're just playing with friends and you've got a pretty good grasp of the core rules, adding in realm rules and the extra realm spells from Malign Sorcery is a great way to make your games more interesting!
  4. When those "Next Week" articles go up on Sundays, they mean that those pre orders will be available the following Saturday, meaning this Saturday, August 28 for the Sequitors
  5. While technically true, this isn't quite what you're thinking. The Lord-Relictor's Lightning or Healing storms are no longer prayers. They are simply abilities that are triggered on a dice roll of 3+. Meaning the Lord-Relictor can still Lightning or Healing Storm + Relocation (or whatever other prayer)
  6. It's once per battle round, choose a unit within 6" to benefit against the first spell cast against them.
  7. Lens of Refraction used to reduce the mortal wounds caused by a spell cast by an enemy wizard by d3 for each unit within 6" of the bearer of the artefact. Now it does that once per battle round for a single unit. So basically: your opponent casts Arcane Bolt and rolls a 10+. They roll d3 mortal wounds for your stardrake that has the old lens, you roll a d3 to reduce it. You both roll a 2 and no one takes damage.
  8. So far, there's been at least 3 tournaments (more I'm sure, but 3 that I'm aware of) that have happened since the launch of 2nd edition and they all took a slightly different approach to the rules. None of them used the Realm of Battle rules, but they all allowed the realm specific artefacts no problem. One tournament also allowed you to take 1 spell from the same realm as your artefact for your army, but I wouldn't expect that to happen too often.
  9. I'm just happy that people are gonna stop using Hysh as their realm just cause of the Lens! Now people won't think I'm trying to join the meta just cause I like the fluff
  10. Not quite. Remember that this is (in matched play at least) an objective game. Those extra 2" can be the difference between guaranteeing that your Sequitors or Evocators (or whatever Sacrosanct) actually take an objective, no charging necessary. Really? I figured the intent of the Lore of Invigoration was pretty clear since Lore of the Storm specifically calls out that Evocators can't cast it. There wouldn't have been any need to do that if GW didn't intend to have Evocators casting Invigoration spells, since their warscroll already says they can only cast Empower.
  11. I think you can take them as your general, but they just dont get the trait. The trait basically vanishes.
  12. Fluffwise, the Redeemer is never going to Paladins. The Redeemer keyword is denoting the conclave, which the Paladins are already part of, well, the Paladin conclave.
  13. One problem with the faction right now is that the new stuff is *good*. Too good to be honest. Sequitors are our new battleline (troops equivalent from 40k) and they completely outclass Liberators, our old battleline. Same problem with the new Evocators vs the old Retributors. Evocators are just better in basically every way, there's no reason to take retributors anymore. The major problem with this is whether or not GW intended that (it seems that way) and if not, what they'll do about it. So the sequitors and evocators that are amazing now... might be terrible come an FAQ. As for building an army: go for the Sacrosanct Chamber. The Soul Wars box has all the models for Sacrosanct, with more releasing this weekend. To start with a 1k list that's pure Sacrosanct, I'd probably do this: Hammers of Sigmar Astreia Solbright (Easy to Build Lord-Arcanum on Dracoline releasing this weekend) Knight-Incantor (There's one in the start with Age of Sigmar magazine from GW, it's $9 USD. Cheapest hero we have xD) 2x5 Sequitors (can get them from basically any of the Soul Wars variants, or wait for the multipart kit) Celestar Ballista (easy to build kit also releasing this weekend) Evocators x5 (multipart kit releasing this week, both of their weapon options are good) Everblaze Comet (endless spell) 1000/1000
  14. Honestly I dont really get all the negativity towards the Tauralon's command ability. To me it looks like one that i'll pretty much use first turn every game that I run the Tauralon, with occasional use on later turns to grab objectives. Not to mention it can be used *with* the 6" auto run to have a unit run 8"! So sequitors moving 13" or evocators going that far and charging with a Heraldor.
  15. It's worth noting that to get the 'We Cannot Fail' command trait, you have to be Hammers of Sigmar, which means the first hero to receive an Artefact must take the God-forged blade. Fortunately, it doesn't change your list all that much since you have a battalion, but you'd have to put it on the Knight-Heraldor.
  16. Honestly this might work better as a Sylvaneth list with 2 allied ballistas and a Knight-Incantor. But since you're going for fluff... Why not go for the Guardians of the Everqueen battalion, it lets you take a bunch of stormcast, but keep Sylvaneth allegiance. Then you can ally in ballistae and lord-ordinator.
  17. Yeah, i'd probably run 1-2 squads instead of flat 3 every time over liberators
  18. So I think the specific wording of those command abilities mention to "choose a hero with this command ability." This meand (in the case of Gavriel) you have to choose a model in your army on the table that has the command ability "Once More, for Sigmar, Charge!" Printed on their warscroll. In other words, Gavriel. So no, Gavriel is the only person that can use his command ability.
  19. Basically every SCE list I've made since 2nd edition has had at least a Lord-Arcanum and 1 Knight-Incantor, though I'm running 2 Incantors more often
  20. Well I can confirm 100% that Evocators only have access to Empower (their spell). No Arcane Bolt, no Mystic Shield. However, in the new battletome we got 2 Spell Lores. The Lore of the Storm, which Evocators cannot take, and the Lore of Invigoration, which mentions nothing about Evocators not being able to take it, so they should be able to take any one of the 3 Invigoration spells. My question is: the Evocator warscroll says that Evocators cannot attempt to cast any spells besides empower. Does that include Lore of Invigoration and Endless Spells? Then why list that Evocators can't take from Lore of the Storm, but specifically not mention that on Lore of Invigoration?
  21. If the evocators cast Empower on a sequitor unit from the battalion, the sequitors also reroll hits in addition to the effect of the spell. So you can use Aetheric Channeling on shields.
  22. Thanks, I'll try and give it a listen if I get time
  23. It seems like a lot of people got their hands on battletomes? Or is there a leak with a buncha pictures somewhere that everyone's referencing?
  24. Did they mention anything interesting that hasn't come up in the thread here yet? I don't have enough time to listen to podcasts lately unfortunately
  25. Model-wise? They showed them at Warhammer fest. The Warscroll was shown from the Easy to Build Sequitors. In other news, I still haven't found anyone that's talked about these weapons for the Evocators on foot. GMG mentioned Grandstaves for the Dracolines, but they were a 2 per 5 special weapon that barely won out on damage vs the dual weapons. So I just wanna know if it's a unit option on foot or what the heck that spear is on the left most model.
