  1. Been reading all these leaks from the web.. Plus the official site. So excited!

Now the Manglers and Squigs Hoppers can FLY. Awesome.

And the Mangler actually becomes stronger near death!! A new for monster!!!!!

Can't wait for the collection to be released!!

The Bad moon separates the Grots from the Orruks..

So far from all the information letting the Bad Moon start from your opponent side has huge advantages! First turn charge with Mangler!! And that bombarded with meteors thingy is freaking awesome!

2019 may be the year of destruction..

I'm more of hoping their return as unit of theIr own...

Just imagine 10 point units in AoS. We destruction need something cheap, funny and completely unreliable like a group of snotlings.

That's how Orcs & Goblins always been, cheap, funny and completely unreliable. That's why I love them so much so long.

If they are doing second waves of the first battletomes, here's hoping Fyreslayers get a new one in 2019 as well :D Magmadroth chariots and runic golems please!

I feel you man. The Fyreslayers were the first re-envisioning of one of the classic Warhammer races.
But they had 12 unit warscrolls in their 2016 battletome which is actually pretty good!
The Ironjaws only had 8 unit warscrolls in their battletome you know? So no, not very likely.

So far only Khorne saw their 2015 battletome repackaged (Stormcast is not counted, they have one every year).

IF there is ONE battletome that should really be updated, it's the Seraphon. It is the only 2015 battletome that is still vaild!

But since the Aelves were always more popular, I guessing that they will be banking on that first before they will make any re-release of battletomes.

Death Grand Alliance Book was made obsolete and it was also the thinnest. The next on that list will be Destruction.
Then it is the Order Alliance Book, lastly the Chaos.
Some models will disappear, some new awesome lore and models will surface.

Lastly why fix something that ain't broken? I know there were tons of error on the App but most people use the App now.
If there are new models release, just update the App and people will be happy.

So maybe, just maybe, in 2022, after all the factions are introduce there might be a refresh of all the battletomes? For collector's sake of course, for they will be made obsolete very soon.

I believe that the Huskards would actually autoheal each hero phase as long as all 4 were alive?

    Yeah, AUTO HEALING D3!

I have 2 list to share:

    1k list:
    Allegiance: Destruction, Mortal Realm: Aqshy
Frostlord on Stonehorn (420) - General, Trait: Wild Fury, Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak
Huskard on Thundertusk (360) - Blood Vulture
    20 x Gitmob Grots (100) - Bows & Slashas
    20 x Gitmob Grots (100) - Spears & Shields
    Total: 980 / 1000, Extra Command Points: 0, Wounds: 65

No fancy trick here, just straight up pain plan.
A 16" movement FLYING Frostlord on Stonehorn is enough to ruin your opponent day(max 28"with run+destruction move).
Wild fury gives your Frostlord 5 attacks (or 6, after taking 5-6 damage), potentially 15 damage.
Thundertusk always scare heroes, and the healing ability can keep your Frostlord killing things longer.
40 little grots with their +2 to run is always good to win the objectives for you.

    2k list:
    Allegiance: Destruction, Mortal Realm: Aqshy
    Fungoid Cave-Shaman (80) - General, Trait: Ravager
Grot Warboss (100) - Moon Prodder & Giant Cave Squig
Troggoth Hag (380) - Artefact: Cleansing Brooch
Frostlord on Stonehorn (420) - Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak
    Icebrow Hunter (140)

    6 x Frost Sabres (120)
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    40 x Moonclan Grots (260) - Pokin Spears & Moon Shields
    10 x Orruks (80) - Pair of Choppas
    10 x Orruks (80) - Pair of Choppas
    Beastclaw's Skal Battalions (150)
    Chronomantic Cogs (60)
    Geminids of Uhl-Gysh (40)
    Total: 1950 / 2000, Extra Command Points: 2Wounds: 120

    Spoiler

This is a mix bag, with 8 deployments you will not be able to choose who go first in most of your game.
But no one will want you to go first, so get ready to go second.
    So deploy defensively.
Use your Orruks as meat shield wrap around the Stonehorn, so that it cannot die to an alpha strike. Put those Grots behind the Stonehorn.
You do not want a Shadowstriking Tenenbrael Shard with a Sword of Judgement popping on your Stonehorn.
Actually the real threat is your 40 Grots, however the plan is only really good after your Chronomantic Cogs is summoned. IF your opponent also summoned one please thank him politely. Thus this "Protect the Stornhorn" distraction tactic is important, you want to look like you cannot lose that Stonehorn(actually you really cannot).

Your flying Stonehorn will be the magnet of your opponent attention, just remember to tell your opponent how the maximum threat distance is 44"(destruction move+cog+artefact+run+charge).
Fly him out turn one to destroy your opponent highest value asset or lock shooting units or both.
Letting him die while killing things is the best way to go (should take them a turn I hope).

Run up your Troggoth Hag and Orruks and take those objectives! Try to cast that Geminids of Uhl-Gysh!
Keep those Grots close behind your Troggoth Hag, and keep your Grot Shaman & Warboss close behind those Grots.

Once the Chronomantic Cogs is up, popup your Skal Icebrow Hunter with those +5 to charge Frost Sabres and kill some wizards or lockdown some shooting units.
If you can store 4 command points by turn two, unleash them all on the Moonclan Spear Grots to run and charge(Fungoid Shaman command ability) and do 8 damage on a 6+ to wound(3 use of Grot Warboss command ability).
With +2 move, +2 run, +2 charge, +2 to wound and 2" attacks, those 40 Grot can cover min14" to max29" and poke many things to death. Many things will die.

If you haven't unleash the Geminids of Uhl-Gysh, cast it through your Grots if you have to, and charge into combat with your Orruks and Troggoth Hag.

IF by some chance you have lesser to deploy and can actually go first, just make sure the Chronomantic Cogs is out.

I believe it they will be good against most army. Both list can win you many games I believe, before your opponent knows how to shut it down. :)

  5. Let's examine some facts. The updated Stormcast book has 3 unreleased chambers. The ruination, covenant and logister chambers.

2015 opens with the Strike Chambers(warriors, harbinger, exemplar).

2016 saw the Extremis Chambers opened.

    2017 introduce the Vanguard/Auxiliary Chambers.

2018 is the release of the Sacrosanct Chambers.

2019, 2020 and 2021 releases are going to be those 3 chambers.

Now on to Destruction, in 2016 we were blessed with 3 battletomes; Ironjawz, Bonesplitterz and Beastclaw Raiders.

    Bonesplitterz and Beastclaw got nerfed.

Yet Ironjawz have to see yearly renewal and reduction in points so as to make it relevant.

The Gutbusters Ogors, Greenskinz Orruks, Gitmob Grots, Moonclan Grots and Spiderfang Grots had their battalions completely erased since 2017.

A logical reasoning will be that they will have a makeover or merger in the near future.

I really don't know what lore will they craft to fix in the Grots, Orruks and Ogors but I'm hopeful.

Let's hope that the Destruction release in 2019 will be good. Else we will still have 2020 and 2021 for more.

  6. Woah, take a chill pill guys. Luckily I do know what I was talking about.

It's really sad that no one here bothers to clarify with their General Handbook on what's defined as an allied unit.

    D08B1B38-FAEB-46B5-A2A8-37C8BA7EB204.png.a3e0d3e8a3a0cc0095341e577e238007.png

Now we work backwards... Does the Moonclan Fungoid Cave Shaman count toward the  maximum number of Heroes you can have? Yes. Did you pay for the cost of the Fungoid Cave Shaman using your allied unit points? Yes.

So is the Fungoid Cave Shaman an allied unit? Hmm. Is it really difficult?

Your eyes is seeing what your hearts wants to see.

So am I making anything up? Or are the people here wishing for winning formula?

Yet anyone with a sense of fair play will smell the cheese. Indeed are they are cheap Wizards but the Moonclan Fungoid Cave Shaman has no business with the Beastclaw Raiders, even their command ability doesn't even affect them.

Will the Ogor let a creature they normally use as snack or food order them around? Hell no.

Let's end this silly discussion, because the proof has been provided.

Time to move to other more important topics.

This was an errata wording fail.

I don't think it is going to matter very much, but it appears to me that what they wanted was for the Heralds to count as Allies, but with a specific exception that allows them to be used in any army from that Grand Allegiance.  But instead of writing that they made a very convoluted wording.  Oops.

    Thanks @Skabnoze

You saw what many failed to see.

    1 hour ago, PlasticCraic said:

Well that's where I disagree.  Because you are literally just making stuff up.  The erratum states that it is using Allied points - it does not state that it is an Allied unit.  That is a jump you have made yourself, and is not based on anything in the actual rules.

It really doesn't matter - it's just a daft list for a bit of fun.

But I think that if you read it with an open mind you will see what we are saying.

Fun list maybe but not valid in terms of numbers of allied units allowed.

You were saying that it is a valid list for Pitched Battle like it's official.

Technically you were the one making stuff up, by defending your list with the malign portent FAQ. I just found what you concluded illogical. Like how can units purchased with allied points not considered allied units? And so you consider them.. Special units? How absurd.

We can all see that your intention was to have many Wizards for a low cost, casting spells of Doom, and that you thought that you found a loophole to do so.

If you were saying that this is just a nonsense list for a bit of fun at the start it wouldn't had mattered. But you were talking like you were sure that you were right. So I personally think that it matters.

I believe that the new 1:4 allies to your army's unit ratio is to prevent people from making such a list.

I personally do not think that the 1:4 ratio can be bypassed with this.

  8. Oh, Age of Waaagh!

It would be Age of Order first

I think age of myths was the age of order..

The entire series WARHAMMER is named after Sigmar's hammer, which was meant to kill orcs. Sigmar first got famous killing orcs. Orcs were the most numerous enemy of human when Warhammer started.

They are paying homage to a lot of the original work of Warhammer Fantasy. Sigmar and King of Dwarf => Sigmar and Grungni.

If they would actually care to pay homage to Orruk in the current lore let them be more threatening.

Sadly i believe destruction will continue to be disturbance, white noise, fillers, comic relief for the lore. ?

Still remember the legendary Grimgor Ironhide awesome smacking of Archaon, humiliation of the everchosen. So many of my friends were overjoyed with that development.

But GW wish all to forget something that so many people fondly remembers.

Now that the new edition is out and running, id like to do a poll to see where our spells sit as far as ability and usefullness. Here are my thoughts but id love to see yours too....

Squigly curse - before was decent bc compared to bolt...but now i believe this is a huge buff both bc bolt nerf and the look out sir rule for characters. Buff this bad boy with some range and here we go with some good ole fashioned character sniping.

Hand of Gork - i may be biased bc this one has always been clutch for me, but i feel that this is one of the best spells in the game. 2x (or 3x on dbbl) movement has sooo many applications in alpha strike and/or objectives. Unlimited range means it can be very hard to stop if cast in a corner. Now we have things like cogs which can mean the fastest movement in the game cogs+icebone+HoG is 26 (39) inch move maniaks!!

Brutal Beast Spirit - great all around buff -  of course for the kunnin ruk (whether this is point viable or not is to be seen) but also great for any unit we need to be more punchy. Also can double the procs on the warboss command ability.....i feel that this spell is unchanged but still solid in 2.0

Kunnin Beast Spirit -  though this spell doesnt always make the cut for me, i feel it is still very usefull. With all the things that proc on 6+ out there having some protection for a key unit really helps us tarpitt when we need to.  Throwing this and mystic shield on a big block of savage boys and you got a unit that is as hard to shift as our book can muster. I rate this one ok.

Bonecrusha - I feel the need to be close is perhaps more viable due to look out sir, but i still feel like this spell is meh. Now i know you could get in the mix....see if you cast it on doubles...then pick a choice target, but i feel that it puts our squishy casters at too much risk to be effective.

Gorkamorka's War Cry -  Is this one of the best spells in the lore, or is it utter garbage. The 18" range made this tough, but there a multiple ways to boost this now. I dont need to go into why the movement debuff is the best part of this spell, but the fact that is move+run+charge debuffed is mega....just ask a nurgle player. The problem is that there are a lot of deamons out there, and withlegion + nightahunt we are seeing a lot more undead so our at best bravery is ****** in those matchups. Im not sure though.

These are my thought....please let me know yours. I think this is a conversation worth having bc the GHB states clearly that artifact/command abilities/spells are picked with the roster. What do you all think?

    Very nice insights.

So with the Chronomantic Cogs does the Hand of Gork double (or triple) that +2 to move??

  10. In order to use Stornhorns/Thundertusks as battleline your army must be a Beastclaw Raiders allegiance army.

Yes it is also a destruction grand alliance army.

So yes according to the ruling you can have the Fungoid Cave Shaman. But the numbers is the first issue. Because it is considered an allied unit.

    Why?

The Fungoid Cave Shaman does not share the same keyword as the army's allegiance, which is Beastclaw Raiders, so it's an unit using allied points.

So how is an unit using allied points not an allied unit?

It is an allied unit. Nothing in the FAQ states that a Fungoid Cave Shaman is not an allied unit just because it shares the same grand alliance. It just say that it will not affect the army's allegiance choice.

And so the 1 is to 4 ratio stands.

And looking even deeper since it is considered an allied unit and checking the list of allied choice, you realize you are not supposed to have the unit as an allied unit.

  11. 50 minutes ago, heywoah_twitch said:

It right now technically works, because the fungoid cave shaman is not an ally, he's a special herald with a special rule. If it survives the 2-week faq then fungoids and endless spells could actually be a thing. If not, then I still like 2x butcher because hitting on 4s is simply not okay.

I checked and no. Your list is no go for Pitched Battle.

Your army allegiance chosen is Beastclaw Raiders. It is needed for the battleline. The Moonclan Fungoid Cave Shaman doesn't share that allegiance. The chosen allegiance need to be destruction.

Moonclan isn't a valid choice for allies for an Beastclaw Raiders army.

A Beastclaw Raiders allegiance army have very few allies choice. No Ironjawz, Gitmob, Greenskinz, Bonesplitterz or Spiderfang. Only Aleguzzler Gargants, Troggoths, Firebellies and Gutbusters.

  12. Not possible. Moonclan can't be your allies.

    41 minutes ago, PlasticCraic said:

Why choose, when you can have both? ?

    Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders

    Leaders
    Moonclan Grot Shaman (80)
    Moonclan Grot Shaman (80)
    Moonclan Grot Shaman (80)
    Moonclan Grot Shaman (80)
    Moonclan Grot Shaman (80)
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)

    Battleline
    Stonehorn Beastriders (320)
    Stonehorn Beastriders (320)
    Stonehorn Beastriders (320)

    Total: 1780 / 2000

OK so technically it's not 4x Frostlords, but it is 4x Stonehorns!  And they do most of the damage anyway.

Question about the Greenskinz Orruk Warboss Waaagh! command ability. Does it work for attacks that are made in the Hero phase, from say the Prophet's ability or the Drakkfoot warclan spell? Waaagh! does say "when they attack in your next combat phase" but then the spell and the Prophet's CA says "as if it were the "combat phase".

Hmm, based on the new FAQ and rules, an ability that is meant for another phase can't be brought into hero phase.

The attacks will be made in the hero phase so none.

The explanation for the Daughter of Khaine shooting also states that.

  14. Read the points table! Very interesting.. Almost everyone scored well for sportsmanship, Lowest was 35 and the average score is 40.48.
I am recommending this idea to my local gaming community!

1 lost and 5 Major victory is better than 4 Major and 2 Minor? Seems.. I dunno..
I feel that maybe the minor should get 20 points and 10 points for a draw, and 5 points for a lost.
If the points have such variants there will would be a more interesting score!
    (Major Victory = W, Minor Victory = V, Draw = D, Lose = L)
    For 6 battles:

    6L = 30 points
    6D = 60 points
    2W 2V 2L = 110 points
    6V = 120 points
    1W 5V = 130 points
    4W 2L = 130 points
    3W 2V 1L = 135 points
    3W 3V = 150 points
    5W 1L = 155 points
    5W 1D = 160 points
    4W 2V = 160 points
    5W 1V = 170 points
    6W = 180 points

  15. I see that the questions asked are mainly about points. I am just very interested in the Open and Narrative aspect of the book.
I understand that there are a few battleplans that have fixed units choices for Narrative based game.
I wonder for the global campaign that is coming up, will there be fixed units in battleplans that we play against for the storyline to progress?
I will certainly hope that all the hobby shops which are partaking in the official documentation of the event will game us seriously if that is the case.. LOL..
    Ben, what do you think?

Interesting! Here we have Sigmar and Nagash! Hahaha.. Where's my Gorkamorka? Oh and watch out for that Archaon..
And will we see Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch and the missing God Slaanesh? LOL..

I love the new story-line of Warhammer Fantasy. I like the old world and it's setting but this high fantasy is the bomb.
Super intrigue by the new direction. A true imagination playground for fantasy fans. Nothing is impossible.

Watch out for a intelligent Orruk Warboss that can count to 100!!!
