It's so wide at the shoulders that it would have to be very short to fit on a 40mm base. I think that it is at least a 50mm base as well.

The fanatics haven't been reboxed the same way the grot box has like most AOS unit boxes have and they do show their age a bit more than the standard grots IMO.
I could see the Fanatics redone if GW wants them featured prominently within Moonclan going forward. They certainly are not poor models currently, but nor are they up to the current standards. The chains in particular lack crisp detail, as well as the undersides which you can see in this case. However, since Fanatics are already on round bases, I don't see the fact that they have not been reboxed as significant.
New Troggoths has me very excited. The old stone trolls are what sucked me into WHFB originally, and trolls have always been some of my favorites since.

I am over the moon that Maneaters are dropping to 200, so that you can get 6 as allies at 2000 Matched Play. It doesn't seem like much, but straying from the universal Ogor statline of 4+/3+ only as far as 3+/3+ makes such a difference.
Being able to fit 3 into 1k Destruction lists has me quite excited as well. I collected all the metal ones once they started moving to finecast. This has me pretty excited to finally assemble them. Think I'll start running the pirate, paymaster and empire ones.

The Gutbuster model line is full of really characterful plastics and has a decent variety of units. 100% confident Gutbusters are in GW's long term plans as I literally can't imagine any reason why they wouldn't. Good existing plastics that seem relatively popular. They've also made multiple appearances in the Realm Gate War novels. Hang in there fatty lovers! I have faith that Greenskinz will have their day eventually as well.

The big $170 battleforce? Those are technically limited and once they are out of supply, they are gone. Get it while you can.
Agree. The ones that you can still find is due to them not being strong sellers.

Guy that I know said he got drunk with a GW employee who was joking about "Squigjawz." Take that for what you will.
Seems like a dual 40k and AOS squig kit could definitely be a thing, where there are just a couple of bits different for each setting. Perhaps AOS squigs will more closely resemble the Forge World ridden Great Cave Squig with some armor. Add a rocket to the squig for 40k, and something pointy for AOS.

New undead archers. I'm assuming that the undying clue is supposed to be an actual clue, and I think the quiver shape could fit into the Death aesthetic as well.

What makes Fyreslayers a challenge to collect is the mass, expensive $ infantry needed. A box with a unit of Vulkites and a unit of Hearthguard at a decent discount is what we need.
The fact that 3 of the heroes can only be purchased via the Magma is still a baffling decision, IMO of course.

My first thought was how much it resembles the helmet on the Freeguild General.

Awesome work. There appears to be an error at the bottom of the Free Peoples.

Lions seem pretty pedestrian for AOS, so I would think that it has to be Lion Ranger related if it is AOS. Too "low fantasy" for some other AOS faction I would think. GW might as well be more creative for anyone that isn't already sporting a lion theme.

Glad that so many are excited for this. I'm on the fence and hoping for really strong fluff to rope me in. The metal "balloons" are tripping me up and I'm pretty much 100% fantasy/0% sci fi, so this is a huge change. Fyreslayers did grow on me over time so maybe these will as well.
As others mentioned, it does make me wonder if Dispossed, Greenskinz, Gitmob Grots, etc are really Compedium factions in disguise ultimately.

@WarbossKurgan turned out great. Makes me think of Calibos from the Clash of the Titans.

And yeah, Malerion being an Aelf/Dragon fusion, I too would expect some of his followers to follow suit in a lesser degree.
That would be incredibly close to the Privateer Press take on Legion elves. I have a hard time believing that GW would so closely mimic PP.

If you look closely you'll notice that the sides of the picture are cropped as is the bottom. Not sure what might have been cropped off of the sides but it makes me wonder if they're trying to mislead regarding the full shape of the piece. No doubt GW must be having as much fun with the leaks as we do speculating.

He looks human to me personally I don't know why people think it's a duardin there is clearly fire on his beard and sword and red robes. Considering the magic theme makes sense it would be a human fire battle mage also have you ever seen a dwarf/duardin using a sword?
I could definitely see it being a firemage and perhaps the rumors of Duardin led me down the path it was a dwarf instead. However, dwarves, association with fire and swords are not a huge stretch. Dwarves often had swords in earlier versions of WHFB. In fact, the best and most comprehensive dwarf supplement ever by GW, Stone and Steel, has a dwarf with a sword on the cover.
In hindsight however, a human fire battlemage makes a lot of sense.

Excited about the Duardin in the picture above. Also interesting that the Duardin is wielding a sword.

Another thought, what if they are supposed to be small mirrors on the "cloak" reflecting the sky? Does that suggest anything in particular?

True, but what self-respecting minion of Nagash would have green grass on their base? :-)
The green grass/base is what makes me think aelves as well. The blue gems also suggests Order I think.
Was hopeful for Slaanesh or Vampire at first but I'm guessing aelf based on the "cheery" gems and bright base.

The glade lord on dragon looks incredible. Probably the best dragon based model that I can remember. Love the use of the trees. They add so much in terms of theme.

AOS Skirmish/Mordheim-lite/Old Path to Glory. These formats have always been my favorite way to play GW games and are critical to recruiting new players.

Agree that the hand looks clawed.

Traditionally, I thought the Xmas deals were more of an Army-in-a-box that cost more in the neighborhood of $200 - $225 US. Perhaps my recollection is poor though.
-
I'm very interested in Fyreslayers as my Order faction but it's not going to happen without an Xmas deal or Start Collecting box. Would think that it's pretty likely but trying not to get my hopes up.

I've always thought that Beastmen were underrated models. Glad and surprised that they are getting a battletome.
