Hmm, I suppose you might be right there. But I'm still curious about the "Order of Azyr" as mentioned on the Weather Report teaser they produced last, week other then the Devoted of Sigmar, who have a more religious angle, I'd see such an Order as men who uphold the laws, sheriffs, marshals, bruisers, witch hunters etc. They'd fit right in.

Is it possible that they will rename the devoted of sigmar keyword to "order of sigmar" instead?

I suppose either makes sense. Cant decide whether a like the prospect of another fully functioning faction army or a well made mini faction that can be used alongside future factions.

The latter could be a good solution to some of the other subfactions in AOS that are lacking rather than trying to beef them all out.

It did get talked about. Last wednesday.

My money is on it being a one off hero or character to be released alongside the next novel. (Which i belive has witch hunter in it??)

If it is it will likely be alligned to devoted of sigmar but i doubt its a sign of a whole new faction.

I like this idea, mostly because I'd like to paint and convert some Witch hunters I think :)

Crossbow Handcannon Murder Friends are go!

To me the presence of the witch hunter would definatly support the theory that the rumor mill model is a mounted witch hunter.

  4. I have always considered there to be the major factions (the ones we all knew were coming in some form)

    such as:

    - Stormcasts

    - Fyreslayers

    - Ironjaws

    - an army for each chaos god

    - Sylvaneth

    - The new Tyrion and Malerion forces.

Ive always felt like the devoted of sigmar and the splintered highborn factions etc to be more back bench forces (In terms of release and fluff)

In that respect i am thinking (and hoping) that maybe they will drip feed new models into factions like this (Which they kind of did with Spire of dawn as that bulked out the swifthawks a little) in and amongst the "Big releases" or repackaging/Giving a battletomb to the factions that are large enough to have them.

In that regard im on the warpriest on demigryph bandwagon for devoted of sigmar

  5. I would have definately gone for some ridable beast possibly like a gryphhound. The traps look befy much like those on a horse and you can clearly see a feathered leg on the far side of the picture. and you see the cloth of what is proberbly a rider.

Couldnt guess whats riding it though with that strange little gun . . ..

They did describe it as a human fire mage (or something similar) but from their tone erc I still feel it is a duardin!

Bare in mind that they had a book with a picture. If they wearnt told about it then and there then they were proberbly just speculating.

But i would agree that its a wizards dosent make sense to me otherwise.

He looks human to me personally I don't know why people think it's a duardin there is clearly fire on his beard and sword and red robes. Considering the magic theme makes sense it would be a human fire battle mage also have you ever seen a dwarf/duardin using a sword?

It's not unheard of actually particularly in the man o war series. But I think it's the "craggy" features on the face look quite dwarfish but I think that's just the the artist. I'd still. Assume human.

  8. I would like to assume that they will release a centre pieace for it.

Following the last few patterns they always display that in the second wave of promotional stuff for an army.

Obviously the LOC is a big canidate. My questions is: What else could it be?

They've already been willing to move units out of armies and into entirely different armies (High elf Sisters of Avelorn went to Wood Elf Wanderers with the update).  This move broke all the synergies that they previously had in the compendium release.  Moving a unit from Order to Chaos isn't much different ultimately.

That was done when the game first was released wasent it? or atleast not long after.

Not saying its impossible. But the longer they leave it the harder it will be.

I don't believe it will be Death aligned. Nagash is Death. That is very much a fact in every bit of story so far. Not that it might not change. Shadow and Death aren't far apart. It just doesn't quite fit, IMO.

Malerion trying to get back Aelven souls and stuff though, definitely plausible. Maybe some sort of wraith stone system for returned souls?

I suppose it will depend entirely on where Malerion stands when all is said and done and what the exiles will do in relation to that.

The exiles are currently serving Sigmar. While they are doing what they are doing they are servants of order. Dosent really matter if they like it or how they go about it they are fighting for Sigmar and Sigmars goals therefore they are Order.

When Malerion pops back up it will depend on where his character goes. If he is going to go full Dark Aelf then he may be seen as a more chaotic or atleast non order figure. But if he sides with Sigmar or even if he decides that he is against sigmar however wants to build his own domain and rule.

Hes still order by definition. Fyreslayers will serve Chaos however they still somehow fit into order . . . .

Then it will depend if the Exile fluff will advance once Malrion shows himself. Will they all flock to his banner or is he now ruleing an entirely new set of Aelfs that want no part of the old ones? (Like alarielle with her half elf tree people while rejecting wanderers)

However i think the simple fact is that GW are SO unlikely to change their allegiance any time soon. Imagine how many people that would upset . . . .

Slaanesh is still on Archaon's shield.  He/she could still be something else now though.

If you think of the chaos gods as 4 super power daemons(which the horned rats ascension kind of prooves) then it's possible he has dropped down to horned rat pretty end times level or lower aka an uber powerful daemon.

I reckon that slapdash will be held at arms length as secondary villain until they decide how to best sell his aesthetic.

Every room decorated by Slaanesh, ever. ;)

Yeah I think your right. one, maybe two faction. If only one I suspect a start collecting box. If two start collecting + a starter box? We'll see but thats were i'm placing my bets.

Yeah i think people need to remember that its likely GW will create new versions already existing rolls.

When they made ironjaws they made a weirdnob shaman rather than remoddelling the standard ork shaman.

The chances are this new model could be a new type of tzeenth sorceror or perhaps the 'Totem' model that each army seems to get.

Another thought, what if they are supposed to be small mirrors on the "cloak" reflecting the sky?  Does that suggest anything in particular?

    Tzeentchs palace of mirrors?

Cant remember id thats what is called exactly but Tzeentchs fortress definatly has something like that and has used mirrors as a theme quite often.

I also think that the aesthetic fits the past few releases.

Wouldnt be surprised if they were all linked.

But they're not Arcanites... unless they have a unit of mortals riding screamers/discs?

Some tzanngors on discs as fast attack me thinks. Thats what i think the rumor engine picks are.

As for elites. I suppose something needs to be a surprise.

Perhaps advanced versions of the kairc acolytes? like what blood warriors are to blood reavers.

Perhaps heavly armored sorcerer unit with a group wizards mechanic.

  15. 12 minutes ago, Rogue Explorator said:

I am not denying Tzeentch releases are coming. I'd expect both a daemons and Arcanites in the next few months, there are to many signs pointing that way to dismiss.

It is just that this particular rumor looks like someone trying to pass of guesswork as credible information . I don't see the releases happening in that particular combination and timetable.

Thats kind of what i meant.

I would expect to see the above mentioned units somewhere in that line up but they arent.

  16. 22 minutes ago, Rogue Explorator said:

    Very salty.

That doesn't look like a coherent AoS wave, as it is all demons except for Tzaangor. Every wave release so far has been for one particular faction.

If Tzaangor are to get their rules outside of an Arcanites release, why the wait at all?

Also, only mentions stuff we know is coming or that has been circulated in the rumor mill for some time now.

Also, BoLS. I have more faith in Faeit at this point and that is a pure agregator.

The only way I could see this happen is:

-Combined Tzeentch daemon release for 40k/fantasy

-Tzaangor as a seperate mini faction along with first campaign book

-Arcanites proper pending and released later

And I find that still unlikely and displeasing. With allegiances developing as they are, I'd find a further facturing into even more subfactions rather bothersome.

What about the Karic Acolytes?.  I think thats what they are called . . . ..

And if the recent rumor engine thing it arcanite where does that fit in?
