I prefer a coherent setting. Don't care if it's Low or High Fantasy, but if it makes sense, I'm fine.

Low fantasy don't need a lot to make sense, but behind a high fantasy setting, you need A LOT to make it coherent enough to be believable without going to "It's magic" route.

Agreed. To me this links to my previous comment.

I like things to matter in the setting and an organised one you see a cause and effect.

But if not then everything's just gets hidden under flimsy hasty plot devices.

I love magic but it can make for lazy lore.

The randomness is a part of the game but it should not remove entire armies from competitive gaming.

Its not just about a higher avarage its about keeping the highs and lows closer together and making stuff more consistent while keeping an element of randomness. Did you read my post?

I actually had a discussion with a friwnd of mine who introduced me to the Kings of War system. Now im not mentioning KOW to get into a debate bout if its any good or not but the fact is i played the game and aside from the stuff you hear about often such as it being balanced and easy to play one of the major things i found enjoyable.is the game is not so dice dependent and have mechanics that dont rely on dice rolls to function.

The point im trying to make is. Randomness is great. It adds flavor to our games. But lots dice rolls or relying on dice rolls for every little thing dosent alway make for a fun game. KOW and other systems have discovered this and in my oppinion retain plenty of flavor maybe GW could learn a little by toning down the impact dice have in certain areas of the game.

  3. Most of what i could say has been mentioned already but i agree AOS needs grounding.

The old world was.so exciting for me as you would have relatable people on a realisitc level of power so when a Bloodthirster showed up you could feel the terror and gravitas of the situation and it was amazing to read about now i feel like because we are in the realms where "anything is possible" everything is less impressive.

Another example would.be Nagash. L love the character and love the model but there was something thrilling about this being that everyone knew the name of a legend from ancient times that everyone feared but ultimately we never knew in vast detail

Now we have a god strolling about it ruined alot of the mystic.

Dont get me wrong i like the AOS setting but i feel that now GW have cast the line out far they should start to reel it in until they find that perfect balance.

It's early days since we don't have a bigger picture but I'm calling it,this rumour engine is the tails of this heroes mount just stuck together in a different configuration.

That thing looks pretty cool .

Have we already seen the thing riding the walking chair in the top right?

You can talk about it but no pictures. I just tidied up a couple of the comments around them which had links or became very disjointed.

I’ll keep in mind some of the comments you are making and be more careful in the future around tidying some stuff up. We want you to talk about stuff, just no bad pictures 😉

My tantrum was met with well a well measured and resonable response. . . . .

Im not show how to respond 🙄

  6. Well for those late to the party and want some bonereapers rumors i heard a "rumor" that a friend of a friend saw so e pictures of some other bonereapers units including:

    Some new hero models

A stalker(four armed dudes) with shields

And a monster with a cage of bones on its back kinda like a undead khorgorath.

But if I’m saying I like it and it’s blurry or making a visual assessment that is clear despite the picture why that comment censored? I mean ones judgement of what’s considered bad is different form another's. As the dude would say, “that’s like your opinion, man”.

but the pictures really aren’t that bad, certainly not enough to remove comments because the images to you are below your standard worthy of comments. It’s simply, weird. Feels like I can’t have my own judgement or thoughts on something, even if it’s a picture of the lockness monster.

Also if you were to say its bad and the picture quality isent great then someone will poi tout this fact.

Plus i was under the impression that sayi g that i dont like something isent frowned upon. Its those people that a needlessly argumentative and try and force their point that need censoring.

I finally got excited foe this threads first ACTUAL rumor in ages and we cant talk about it?

Wait, this is bad? The kind of discussion which needs to be removed?

Problem is that people are commenting on pictures which aren’t great quality. This is why some comments have been removed as you could be saying something around a picture that’s really bad and then when the official one appears, you change your mind.

I would say if these leaks are happening the release will be soon, as it means stock is being shipped out ready to go to stores.

Obviously you guys make the rules. But isent it kind weird that people cant post comments on rumors on a rumors thread. Surely its part of the excitment to speculate.

If we only go for what GW give us such as the "rumor" engine then perhaps the thread should.be named Tease/preview discussion.

    I don't think it is.

Ward save for non-heroes or monsters at 66% chance is very good, as is the spell resistance, damage output is very good. BUT he has only 4" speed, and for monsters and heroes, his save is only 5+.

He probably falls in one round to a General on Griffin (with his own inspire ability and charging, the general deals an average of 3.125 damage with his lance, 3.9 damage with its beak, and 3.3 damage with its claws to this version of Gotrek. Probably still around 4-5 damage without command ability and charge), if that general decides to engage him (I don't know heroes very well, others might also work as well as this one).

Wording is bad though. Reading it logically, you would come to this conclusion:

If wound inflicted AND NOT hero or monster melee: 3+ ward save.

If wound inflicted AND hero or monster with ranged: 3+ ward save.

If wound inflicted AND hero or monster melee: no ward save.

If wound inflicted AND NOT hero or monster with ranged: no ward save.

Apologise for the wording it i did it on my phone is about 3 minutes . . . .

as long as he gets a 2up the 2up save against shooting and can actually make it across the board without getting shot off the  table il be taking I don't care if he ends up amazing or rubbish as long as he doesn't get shot, magic or prayed off the table every game

Again thats why a "destiney" based save would be great.

In other words i think his stats should make him VERY hard to kill at range or with magic and then allow his own powerful statline to come into play when dueling other powerful foes.

  12. 14 hours ago, Deepkin said:

That would be profoundly underwhelming ruleswise tho. Unforged were one of the worst models in the Dispossesed list. Definitely not the caliber of rules that someone like Gotrek deserves.

    Really?

A slayer that can heal itself gains, buffs in offence and defence against monster and heros

The ability to deal massive damage upon his death and an enhanced statline?

I personally want Gotrek to be a playable character not juiced up to be a match for the god-tier models.

Gotrek isent as powerful as Archaon or Nagash he may get more powerful but it needs to be realisitc.

Also i left quite alot.of room for movement in my rules. Didnt say buffed by how much.

As for choosing unforged. Hes a slayer.

Hes badder than any around but he is still a shirtless spikey haired nutcase so why wouldnt his stats LOOSLEY follow another of his kind.

I really hope they dont overpower him.

  13. As for rules

    Take an unforged.

Keep save the same or.up.it to 5+ at the most for sheer toughness.

Give me some sort of destiney based bonus save. That perhaps is better or worse depending if the attacker has monster and/or hero keyword (gotrek should only go down fighting the biggest baddest thing on the table)

His new axe isent a daemonslaying one as far as i know so bonus there but dependingon its abilites perhaps something similar to decapitation strike.

A buff for fighting monster/or heros

Something with the master rune not sure as its unclear what it does. Perhaps a healing ability?

And finally upgrade "epic deathblow" to "legendary Deathblow": automatic D3 Mw upon death with a chance of atleast D3 more if not D6 on a 4+

  14. I dont feel like the current version of Gotrek is anywhere near as powerful as the one we last saw in the Old World.

For the majority of the audio drama he was aged.

And didnt have his axe. Which fans will know increased his power over the years he carried it.

Since.he dosent have it anymore he may have gotten weaker as times gone on.

In addition Grimnir unlocked the rune of unbinding on the axe making him even stronger AND he was given Grimnirs other axe.

At his peak we saw gotrek go toe to toe with a bloodthirster and win when in his last encounter he could only stand against it for a short period of time when it was already wounded.

Gotrek has certainly taken a step forward after getting hold ofnthe master rune but has taken several steps backwards since the end times.

I feel this gotrek similar to his pre "ascension"

But when he gets his axe back and taps into his power oooo boy!

  15. I appreciate the notion that the game needs an element of chance and incentive to keep an eye on movement placement but double turn feels like sword where a scalpel would be better.

In short not a fan. Just dosent seem necessary. I am a BIG aos fan and ive seen plenty of wins and loses because of it.

  16. Not to keep on about the heads but have a look at the battletomb cover.

Look at the Mortek at the bottom

The skulls a different. No nose bone. Move fang like teeth. They look amazing. Hasent traslated to the new heads though . . . .

Rest of the models are top notch however. Sure i can find a decent head swap.

  17. While i agree that it shares little resemblance to tomb ki gs in terms of design i do still feel the same vibe

Nagashs design was meant to incorporate his own creation with elements of Nehekara.

For me the main comparison to tomb ki gs is the sense of  a well organised well equipped.and proud martial force like tomb kings in comparison to the shambling mismatch hordes of.the "regular" undead.

In terms of them being undead version stormcast they certainly incopkrate that as well and this has been a long time coming as Nagash hints at them in the book Lord of Undeath.

But yeah i get why people get a tombking vibe of them.
