  1. I finally got around to testing out OBR and you guys are right. The best thing about this army is its resilience. The list I used had 15 Deathriders and 2 Crawlers. I didnt have the support the Deathriders needed with them and whiffed with all my shots with the Crawler. Besides my bad luck on dice rolls, the Crawlers were still limited because they need line of sight. The only reason I was able to pull out the win was because I was able to get on the objectives and weather the storm.

I think I'm going to change my list to the one below to play on the fact this army is incredibly resilient. What are your thoughts?

    Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers
    - Legion: Mortis Praetorians

    Leaders
Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis (500)
Arkhan the Black, Mortarch of Sacrament (360)
    Arch-Kavalos Zandtos (220)

    Battleline
    15 x Kavalos Deathriders (480)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    20 x Mortek Guard (260)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    10 x Mortek Guard (130)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield

Endless Spells / Terrain / CPs
    Emerald Lifeswarm (50)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 113

The only change I might make would be dropping Lifeswarm and 5 Deathriders and making the 10 Guard a unit of 20.

  2. This guy is still a work in progress but It still feels a little off. I planning on taking the bone highlight up to Screaming Skull. I think I'm going to highlight the bronze to silver. The eye will have a glow effect and the cloth with be black with highlights to Nihilakh Oxide. Do you guys have any tips to make this look better?

    Heya everyone,

Does anyone have an ok list for 1k? I'm looking at building up to a 2k list and can't decide what way I should go. Either lots of guard or riders,

    Does anyone have any input?

    Cheers

A lot of guard would be the more competitive build but I really like the Deathriders. I am building a list that I think would be pretty competitive and gives me the best of both worlds. It's listed below.

    Mortis Praetorian

    Katakros

    Arch Liege Kavalos

    15 Deathriders
    20 Mortek Guard
    10 Mortek Guard

    Mortek Crawler
    Mortek Crawler

I think it has good treat range, good combat ability, and good staying power. Number of bodies is still an issues, but I'd rather had the Deathriders. Haha

  4. I'm new to Lumineth. How do you guys think this list would fare? I know its short on bodies but it seems like it might be fun.

Moo ******, Get Outta The Way
    Lumineth Realm Lords
    - Great Nation: Ymetrica
    LEADERS
    Avalenor, the Stoneheart King (360)
Alarith Stonemage (130)                        Alarith Stonemage (130)
    UNITS
    15 x Alarith Stoneguard (300)
    - Stone Mallets
    20 x Vanari Auralan Sentinels (280)
    20 x Vanari Auralan Sentinels (280)
    10 x Vanari Auralan Wardens (120)
    5 x Vanari Dawnriders (130) BATTALIONS                                                Alarith Temple (120)
    ENDLESS SPELLS
     Soulscream Bridge (100)

  5. I'm looking for advice on this list. I think it has everything to be competitive around 4-1 in tournaments barring match ups. What do you guys think?

    Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers
    - Legion: Mortis Praetorians
Katakros, Mortarch of the Necropolis (500)
    15 x Kavalos Deathriders (480)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    10 x Mortek Guard (130)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    10 x Mortek Guard (130)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    6 x Necropolis Stalkers (360)
    Mortek Crawler (200)

    Mortek Crawler (200)

  6. I really want to run an all cav list supported by Katakros and Arkhan. The issues Im running into is trying to choose a legion and taking the kavalos battalion. Im leaning toward the list below. Being able to run and charge and retreat and charge seems beneficial also considering the MW attack.  Would it be best to focus on Katakros +1 save with MP, use PE and take the Kavalos battalion, or just taking SL legion.

  7. I think the shift will lean towards Deathriders and Crawlers. It makes sense to go Mortek for for the obvious reasons. But now that we are more susceptible to shooting, I think it makes more sense to be more aggressive and hit shooting threats early on, be that with Crawlers or using RD to get the extra movement to reach charge range. While Mortek is survivable due to numbers, it will take all game to go across the board, survive, and capture an objective. Maybe even an Arkhan, Liege Kavalos, Deathrider, Crawler list, Arkhan can teleport around the board.

    Petrifix

    Arkhan                             360

    Liege Kavalos               200

    15 Death Riders         480

    10 Death Rider           360

    10 Mortek                     130

    2 Crawlers                    400

    Total                              1930

    Hi guys!

Got my first tournament coming up. And I'm bringing the following list (unless you can convince me not to!):

    Allegiance: Ossiarch Bonereapers

    - Legion: Petrifex Elite

    Leaders
Arkhan the Black, Mortarch of Sacrament (360)
    Liege-Kavalos (200)
    - General
    - Trait: Mighty Archaeossian
    - Artefact: Godbone Armour
    Mortisan Soulmason (140)
    - Lore of Mortisans: Arcane Command

    Battleline
    5 x Kavalos Deathriders (180)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    20 x Mortek Guard (260)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield
    20 x Mortek Guard (260)
    - Nadirite Blade and Shield

    Behemoths
    Gothizzar Harvester (200)
    Mortek Crawler (200)
    Mortek Crawler (200)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 112

Got a lot of damage from the crawlers through the liege and soulmason support. I expect there to be a fair amount of shooting and magic, so made that choice.

Got some decent survivability from 2*20 Guard and a Harvester.

What would you consider some weakspots for me that I should watch out for?

I think your list is solid. I think the big issue will be getting across the board and taking objectives. The way your list is built, it's a very defensive list. The majority threat from your list is going to come from the Crawlers and to get the most out of them you will need to keep your heros back and the the buff range of your heros is what limits your movement. As long as your are able to clear 50% of an army or lock them in combat you will be able to reach objective using the Deathrider to get the major.  Otherwise, your playing for the minor victory hoping your opponent makes a major mistake. I may be completely wrong. I look forward to hearing how your tournament goes.

Has anyone found any usefulness with the steamtank, as it seems so underwhelming now, with the change to the overpressure ability.

I have been thinking on this and you need to take a group. There are 2 things things that hinder steam tanks, random movement and a mixed shooting profile from 8" to 30". I seem them as line support, a moving artillery platform that moves and supports the bulk of your force. The other thing, to get more consistancy you need at least one commander to add a +1 attack and an other bubble +1 buff the make the tank reliable.

Just my thoughts and first impressions

  10. Here is a list Im toying with. With 3 CP to start. The griffons and CPrime go around wrecking face.

I forgot to add artifact and command trait. Gen on Griff would have Indomitable making boths Griffs 2+ save and Meteroic Iron for Gen on Horse.

I think he use the second general for keeping the banner buff and command ability in range and ready to use. Now, with command points you can use the command abilities of all FP heroes so its worth it to get two Freeguild general. And he can do some -2 rend damage with his great weapon, that's a nice addition if you want to be more agressive on a flank.

Don't hesitate to ask questions, we're here to learn so its normal :). If you want my tips with FP, use crossbowmen...lots of them. With the FAQs they are really better than they were in the previous GHB. My real competitive list consist of two great compagnies with 20 guard each and  2x 30 crossbowmen. I use an Amber battlemage for boosting the wounds rolls for one of my pack and combine with the command ability of your general, you get them rend on a 4+ to wound. So one pack can do an average of 33 wounds which 16 of them with a -1 to rend... at 20" of range this is really a nasty combo. Even without rend, they're more effective than handgunners because they can double their attacks if they're more than 20. Of course, below that, they're really less effective but still, 20" of range can always be useful.

Another tips, use a Luminark of Hysh if you can fit it. You will have a lots of models on the table and no protection against mortal wounds.. so the Luminark can give you that protection and honestly, on 40 models a 6+ save can save you enough guys to keep them running. Plus, you have a wizard free with it and a bonus to unbound.

Crossbowmen no longer get double attacks for have 20+ models. They get +1 to attack for 20+ models.

  12. Meta is still new. It seems like magic is a must. What are everyones thoughts on Free People Allegiance with:

    General on Horse 100

    General on Griffin 240

    Great Company:

    20 Guard 160

    20 Greatswords 240

    30 Handgunners 300

    D Knights 140

    30 Handgunners 300

    Hurricanum 380

GC to hold objective and G on Griffin, Hurricanum, Handgunners and D Kights to attack opponent.
