Folks, the mini of the year is a bit of fun, it's not life and death.
We should celebrate the fact that we had so many amazing models to choose from instead of being bitter the popular vote won.
It's not like because of that, 40k will now get more model releases next year!
Never suggested it is a big deal. Yet it's pointless to vote for AoS minis. You are free to have fun and vote for a mini that will not win.
SPOILER ALERT
Miniature of the Year 2024 goes to...
40k hero model! Who could have guessed that? (applause)

I suggest boycotting the poll next year unless GW makes it seperate for AoS and 40k. Of course you are free to participate in something that we already know what the outcome will be.

Nothing reminding Skavens which is weird regarding their rumored presence in the next starter.

I really hope AoS doesn't go that way. Space Marines are synonym to boredom. I'm in the hobby for 8 years and haven't been surprised even by one Space Marine model throughout this time.

Vampire range is already vast. Soulblight needs Zombie and Skeleton heroes. Model is cool though. I might be picking that box.

It's about time Drukharii showed up. I'd rather it be sooner than later.

That's a model silly/funny in a goblin way. In my opinion it doesn't match current range at all.

Do we expect 4th edition to start next summer?

If you have 2 thunderers and 2 gunhaulers, good look with 1400p of foot heroes then... I hope that Kurnothi don't become the same.
I'm not sure what do you mean?

Take in mind that to build a themed army, you don't need a lot of units.
Look at Kharadrons, we are already buying 2k points of the same repeated 2 units to play with our awesome and non-broken Expedition Force: Grundstock gunhaulers and grundstock thunderers.
Not many, but not few either. Fyreslayers still look like an army of clones.
I own more than 2k points of Kharadrons and don't have any unit repeated more than twice. 2 Arkanaut Companies, 2 Thunders, 2 Endrinriggers and 2 Gunhaulers. Every other unit I own only in single copy.
The problem starts when you are forced to take a unit more than two times and there's no really way around it.
PS. I really enjoyed last Sylvaneth story and how Drycha treated her human "allies" 🙂

Even a warband for Kurnothi will be much appreciated but I would buy full Kurnothi 2k points day one if GW releases it. Same goes for Dark Aelves.

Elves vs Elves will not "blow people out of the water". I mean, Order has 50% of Aelven armies and even two of them already had a second wave (Lumineth and Sylvaneth).
If you want to blow peoples mind, just use Duardins vs anything that needs new models: Skavens, Ogors, Grottbag Skuttlers, etc...).
Basically anything that is outdated (ogors, Skaven, chaos demons) or something still missing (dark Aelves, Tyrion) or brand new (silent people, kurnothi, chaos dwarfs) is a great choice. Another dozen of Stormcasts is not, no matter how good the models are.
And yes I am aware of this "Stormcasts are newbie friendly" argument. It's just this solution is standard, expected, simple and far, far away from blowing minds. Unless they put Sigmar model himself in the box...
Edit: If starter boxes are about being noob painting friendly why only 1/2 of the box are Stormcasts? Neither Khorne nor Orkz are easy to paint and Nighthaunt are easy only if you have an airbrush.

I can confirm. Most kits were limited to 2. Vanguard and Rabblerowza to 1 and Maw-Grunta to 3.
No need to take part in this purchasing race. Ironjawz didn't get a Starting set which probably means they're getting a battleforce box in two months.

Best Fyreslayers models so far.

Although Troggoth King is a great model this faction, among many other, needs rather more troops. Building Troggoth only 2k army requires a lot of repetition which makes it look boring. What do people mix Troggoth army with?
Ironjawz on the other hand received what they desperately needed - basic and elite infantry. Well done. Worth mentioning are topless brutes which in my opinion enter Bonesplitterz territory and make it less likely for this faction to be developed in the future.
Idoneth's new sea creatures are always welcome. Octopus is great. I think that GW understands how well received are these models and we can expect to see a lot of them in the 2nd wave. At least I hope so. Enough thralls. This faction stands out thanks to its sea creatures.
Gorgers are really terrifying. Very good models that can bring more variety to ogors.

So are they also a Warcry Warband?
I'm asking myself the same question.
I see Stormcasts, I look for the dislike button. Sorry. Until Fyreslayers, Ironjawz, Ogors, Skaven, Beasts of Chaos and more receive new minis I won't agree with this release schedule, no matter how good are the minis themselves (and they are in this case).

I really hope for head options for many miniatures, especially Zenestra. At first I felt relieved when I saw the skeleton as an option but then realized it's just the back of this miniature.
As CoS ornaments and overall design is satisfying and reaching AoS standards, the heads however... I would prefer to just hide them under helmets.
I'm most impressed with the Marshalls. All of them different, all cool.

For me as a Cities player, the non-replaced kits are the ones I would have wanted to return anyway. The Steam Tank is an iconic Warhammer unit and the kit still holds up well enough. It is ornate enough to fit with the new Freeguild aesthetics, same with the Hurricanum (plus they just sold two of those as a double pack during Broken Realms). The Griffons are a cool big monster kit at an affordable price, definitely not the worst to keep around. The Battlemage kit fun with a lot of customizability. Flagellants are whatever, nobody ever runs them currently.
It was never realistic for GW to update all 50+ cities units at once. But this unit selection signals to me that GW wants Cities to be an army of combined elf, dwarf and human forces, not just as a stop gap but as its identity. So I am looking forward to what that means for the future.
It depends on who you ask. My close friend is a CoS player and he is disappointed that the Steam Tank stays. He was hoping for a new model.
Yet I understand that the range is huge and it is impossible to make everything fresh all at once. We will see the same problem when GW decides to update Skaven and some clans will be left behind.

Unfortunately a lot of outdated models are staying but still it is a move in the right direction. Quite surprised that Sisters of the Thorn are leaving being one of the best models in current CoS range.

Match really well the esthetics of currently shown models. Just hope they aren't better shooters than KO...
