Ah, but you see, that's the genius of Games Workshop! No one could possibly have expected another Stormcast hero so soon, making the most expected choice for Order's herald subversively unexpected xD

Joking aside I'm a little underwhelmed by our Stormcast herald. He seems like a random blend of ideas - Stormcast Warrior, village blacksmith, freeguild general... and is he wearing pearls? O.o It's not a bad model per se but it doesn't live up to the awesome standard set by the other three IMO.

I'm really getting a oriental vibe from the design personally, especially with the video's music, the monk and such. Wearing mala (beads) is a common thing in eastern mythology for important figures. Perhaps thats what they were going for? I personally think that there should be at least one asia themed army in Age of Sigmar, or a subfaction - I'm aware most of warhammer is based around nordic mythology, but branching out into other parts of mythology would only get more people interrested in the game.

I'm not sure if GW is willing to take such  a risk though, I am actually quite surprised how innovative they are lately despite being a multi million company. Most companies don't dare to take such risks. Like in the videogame industry many of the 'top' branches become repetitive because of this very reason. They got a formula that works, and spending money on stuff that potentially becomes a flop is super risky after all ><.

  2. Super long build up for all the Heralds...

Everybody getting unorthodox releases... goblins... darkoath... malignants. What unorthodox release could order have? A dwarf? An elf? Perhaps free people's?

The moment finally arrived and boom! Another stormcast joins the battle! The least expected of all!

Any chance for a plot description?

    What happens?

    I don't do audio books.

I dont do audio books either, I'm purely going with the stuff on this page:

    https://www.blacklibrary.com/new-titles/featured/the-autumn-prince-mp3.html

They got like a 1 minute fragment of the elves fighting Skaven. So if story-wise they face off against Skaven, I can only assume that Wood elves will be the accompanying release with the Skaven (in case they still go with 2 releases at a time). That there hasn't been as much as a spoiler about the 2nd warband yet worries me that the Skaven may take quite a while to hit the shelves... Really looking forward to play those little rats.

  4. That autumn prince book shadespire is a pretty big thing as well IMO. Possibly a wood elves shadespire warband?

Also the extract seems to be Skaven battling them, so I'm quite confident to assume that Wood Elves will be the 2nd warband to go along with Skaven.

Oh? I read that one very recently. No mention of this occurence (they also didn't bring any warlock engineers as far as I recall)

Assuming you're talking about the second Thanquol book (or any of the three, really) :P now I must know the source! For science!

I never read any, so no idea which one, apparently it happens after they fight some lizardmen or something, perhaps that'll help you to find out which one it is :P.

I've been wondering about that. When did that happen? Which book? I ran out of Skaven books to read :(

Apparently its in the thanquol book. I should probably add a spoiler somewhere in the original text.

  7. SPOILER AHEAD! :P

Lets not forget that the Skaven pocket dialed the Eldar before.

    Quote

“The warlock engineers soon discovered the Device of the Great Beyond, a communication apparatus that spoke to beings from beyond the stars.  As they swirled its many dials, a querulous voice spoke through the stone speakers. That voice, fair and clear caused the Skaven to bolt away.  The device was something like the far-squeaker, but the melodious tones that issued forth were, if anything, kin to the despised speech of the elf-things. As they did not understand the alien language, nor how the arcane contraption worked the warlock engineers pulled the device apart and shot it with warplock pistols until it stopped making any sounds.”

  8. Here are mine! Sorry for the low quality pics of 2 of them. I'll take better ones soon. Each of these have been semi speedpainted with a few hours work per warband (including drying steps). About 1 hour per warband for the big parts, and the rest detailing here and there.

My Warcraft tribute to the Iron Horde (tried my best with the glow effects, but I don't have an airbrush, so this is the best I could do):
