I got six transparent 12" discs for £20 including postage by getting them made at https://www.perspexsheet.uk/

They've been really good so far, I didn't realise how much faster/easier that would make planning around objectives until I played with them. Only thing they need is something adding to mark the centre point imo.

this is the most interesting post in the thread, for me. I would like to find a source of these in the US. Still looking.

Dope man, we will have to some list discussion sometime.

i've been hitting my head against it the past couple days, working with club mates and friends. I still have a ways to go on assembly so not a huge issue yet. Though I do have 60 Savage Orruks on my assembly table.

Hello felloo destro bros! I have recently acquired a Ironjawz army and will be throwing down games soon, glad to be part of the ranks and looking forward to engaging in some discussion about lists!

I just picked up an Ironjawz army as well. I will be playing it soon once I get it assembled.

Wait you mean people copying and pasting a list from the internet doesn’t work as well as the person who pioneers and practices a list?

Ruh roh this spells trouble for my competitive strategy. Although I did shift from stealing your list to stealing @HobbyKiller’s list. So as long as I don’t run into him or Tinsdale I’m good right?

In any case congrats on the win. Was that a singles event or an actual team event?

It was a 4 player team event. Pairings were done for teams each round.

  5. Went 5-0 again this weekend with my team to win a Circle City Clash. Beat 2 Slaanesh mirror matches (they copied my list, and I matched myself up against them).

    same list as before:

    Invaders

    keeper, thermal rider

    shalaxi

    ssyleske, general

    masque, general

epitome, general, glory hog, rod of misrule

herald on exalted chariot, 12” +1 hit artifact

    3x5 hellstriders

    cavalcade+sybarites battalions

TLDR I keep coming back to @Rhellion‘s list, although I will definitely proxy a silly 4 keeper list and try out iterations of 3 keeper (2 plus shalaxi) lists as well. @Rhellion I’d be interested to hear why you went with less keepers and other heros instead.

Guaranteed command point with 6 characters and Sybarites. You can’t fit in 6 with all those keeers.

Exalted Chariot Herald is better at clearing out hordes of low armor. And is often overlooked in favor of the keeper.

ssyl’esske has a better command ability than a second, third or even fourth keeper’s. Redundancy is not necessary if positioned well. But Ssyl is amazing in an Invader list.

Epitome is also great and hard to fit with all keepers. Both magic protections and assurance.

Shalaxi kills keepers real well and the 6" pile in to tie up from 3" away presumably works quite well against 30 daemonettes. The list also has enough CP to continue fighting twice throughout the game, whereas some Slaanesh lists have enough CP to fight twice with several units turn 1 and then once a battle round after that, which means that when both sides summon a keeper and some daemonettes, Rhellion's list will be able to continue fighting twice.

All this, plus it is two drops and most Slaanesh lists are not.

  8. My Meltdown summoning count:

    G1 v Fyreslayers, 2 Keepers, Epitome, 30 Daemonettes.

    G2 v LoN, nothing.

G3 v Fyreslayers, 30 Daemonettes, KoS (end of the game).

    G4 v Sylvaneth, KoS, 20 Daemonettes.

    G5 v DoK, 30 Daemonettes.

Game 1 was the most I’ve ever summoned as it was against 2 monstrous beasts in Ghur, 2 magmadroths, loads of 2 wound Fyreslayers, and nearly my whole starting army died.

Game 5 was incredibly challenging as he killed all my heroes by turn 3 and I had to play turn 4 and 5 with 30+ depravity I couldn’t spend and command points that were useless.

Luckily I had weakened him enough that the ~20 Daemonettes and remaining 5 Hellstriders got Morathi.

How do you use Syll'Esske? It sounds like you've got Keeper/Shalaxi/Chariot/Syll'Esske as a deathball grouping, with the Epitome staying back to provide a CP farm and backup summoning platform, and the Hellstriders w/ battalion and The Masque serving to hold enemy units in place or take lightly defended objectives. Is that correct?

Also, what are your go-to summons? Do you tend to bring back Keepers, or do you summon in blocks of Daemonettes? Or other heroes?

Syll is right behind or to the side of the group to use their command ability for 18” bubble Rerolls. I don’t worry about Aquiescence due to them and can focus on realm spells. They get in the mix most of the time but usually against chaff or secondary units.

i am about 50/50 on summoning keeper or 30 Daemonettes first depending on match up. They are 90% of my summoning though I have summoned back epitomes and chariots.

Good to hear :) how would you say is the best way to use these units? Especially Shalaxi compared to just a normal keeper

The key to using all those models is being Invaders. Ssyl'esske needs to be a General to be worth it and to use her as a General you need to be Invaders. Masque is a flanking suicide and harry piece, and when she dies you get another CP. She often pilled in from 6" to exactly 3" to tie in a deathstar unit and hold them in place for a few turns and maybe got a few extra DP. I also did this with the hellstriders and the battalion, which was amazing.

Shalaxi stayed near the keeper and one shot characters all weekend. She even ground out a bunch of Witches before dying in my DoK match up when I couldn't get to the Cauldron and it isn't worth trying to go after Morathi with her. She one shot Durthu, 2 different opponent's Magmadroths, and an ethereal Vampire on ZD... along with quite a few 5-6 wound heroes. Shalaxi is really good piling in twice per turn, every turn(if even needed) haha. It's hard to do that if you aren't generating 5 CP's per turn.

The number 1 Slaanesh list was pretty odd; one of those ones that uses models people consider a bit meh (e.g. Shalaxi, Syll'esske, and the Masque). Good to see that our army isn't cookie-cutter, at least when it comes down to heroes used.

People are wrong. ;)  A lot of people also rate Godseekers and Pretenders and don't rate Invaders.

It crushes the mirror match as well.

And the list is 10-0 in 2 weeks. I also won Rend 4 last weekend.

Where did you get those moving trays tho? Seems really handy!!

    Element Games!

I usually make few mistakes. Honestly it was one of the biggest ones I have ever made in a game of Warhammer and should have cost me the game. Luck prevailed and a couple bad decisions on my opponent's part. And more luck from me after finally deciding to make some smart decisions. Part of the stupid mistake was because I only have ever played 2 games with Nighthaunt before this event and didn't fully know the rule.

  13. Vs DoK Khailebron in Better Part of Valor both my opponent and I were worried about teleporting. He was mostly snakes (sisters) and he came after me with part of his army but not all due to scenario and teleporting. I was able to pick off the front, offsetting one flank and then teleporting and deep striking back to the other flank when he reacted the opposite way. This allowed me to get 5 objectives turn 2, burn them all going up 8-0 and I was able to focus everything on the last obj and not worry about his teleporting. I got it by the end of turn 4 even after losing all 30GG in one combat with about 15 snakes. they then got charged from the rear by bladeghiests and wiped.

Vs Kharadron in Border War (i think) I put all 4 large units in the sky and deployed everything else deep. He was playing a foot slogging gunline. He gave me first because he was out of range so I deep struck everything for the turn 1 charge, cast cogs, and made all 4 charges (had a character deepstrike as well for a reroll if needed). Wiped out more than half his army top of turn 1, with only one of the charges being 10+... killed about 70 Arkanauts. His remaining allied evocators and brokk actually did some serious damage to my army but I was too far ahead on points too early after scoring his objective right away T1.

Vs Skaven in Knife to the heart, my opponent gave me priority and I cast mystic shield and said "I'm done, your go" with my screens set up. Threw him off a bit. We did this until 4th turn! The I realized I made a terrible mistake and left a unit of Bladeghiests in the underworld and they died and gave up 320 points. Stupid of me. Then I went for it and went after a juicy flank with a Bell, small monk unit, priest, and censer bearers. I used Translocation to move the Grimghasts and teleported with my general and got both units across the entire table from my deployment zone in and killed all I listed, except the bell, while also tagging a 40 man unit at exactly 3" range to minimize the attacks. This forced him on the last turn to try and kill enough (I went up 440 to 320) but he only killed my general (440 to 420) and my last Bladeghiest in the second unit survived. Close one after a huge and stupid mistake.

Vs FeC Gristlegore in 3 Places of Arcane Power he was worried about me dropping down my large blocks and sitting on objectives and only being able to move me off one. So he went first and sat on them. He couldn't come after me do to my screens (seen above) without a bad counter charge. After he dropped and put the GKOTG on the middle, and the GKOZD on one flank and a small character and ghouls on another I focused on the flanks. I killed the ZD realatively quickly and cleared the other flank with ease while sending Grimghasts to kill the 40 ghouls in the middle while NOT engaging 3" of the TG. I chewed through most of the ghouls then the TG killed all the GG. I was threatening objectives at this point and he had to leave the center to deal. This was by turn 3. If I had won either turn 2 or 3 priorities I would have cleared all his characters but the TG. I could have killed the TG or just won on points... but I lost and the TG killed enough that I lost by 1. Even with a 5+ 5+ 6+ 6+ (after rend with mystic terrain and the extra 5+ spell) my Bladeghiests killed the ZD in one turn. I still beat up his army and outscored him on kill points 1700 to 1380. He had the remnants of his 40 man ghouls, a GKOTG, and summoned flayers and a summoned Vargulf left from his starting army.

Vs BoK in Blood and glory, there was a lot of large terrain on the table and he was scared of me teleporting behind him and auto winning. So I used the terrain to tunnel him down lanes with my screening units and counter charged on bottom of turn 2 when he didn't move far forward. I chose his strong flank and went in with everything. It wasn't going amazing so I set up to flee, teleport, and drop in a final unit on bottom of T3 and had more numbers on the objectives and took them for the auto win.

  14. I got 4th out of ~60 players this weekend with this list. Missed Best Death due to 1st and 2nd place being FeC. I beat Skaven, DoK, KO, BoC, and lost to the 2nd FeC by 1 point (but beat them 1700 to 1380 on kill points).

    Reiknor, soul cage
Guardian of Souls, mortality glass, shademist
Dreadblade Harrow, general, tome, soul cage
    40 Chainrasps
    10 Chainrasps
    10 Chainrasps
    10 Chainrasps
    30 Grimghast Reapers
    20 Bladeghiest Revenants
    20 Bladeghiest Revenants
    Cogs

3 for inspiring doesn't seem that useful against the stormcasts, but it definitly looks pretty hot against the skeletons.

So far in my games, I am happy to kill 1 Stormcast before Inspiring. Then it is 3 vs 2 and all my models are inspired.

I would imagine there will be people selling boards, cards, etc on eBay as well. It's clear they want anyone who wants to get into it to buy the core box regardless of whether they like Stormcast/Khorne or not, but people will buy it for their own reasons.

Also we might see boards as separate releases in the future like they did with Blood Bowl mats.

I think the goal is to release new boards later separately (as Bloodbowl like you say). They are smaller and can be sold easier I would think.

Couldn't be more excited. For sure going to get a SCE warband and paint it Anvils of the Heldenhammer to match my main army, but very excited for the Deathrattle expansion as well.

I've never played TCGs before, are the Card Sleeves worth getting? In general, not specifically the GW ones that I'm sure are going to be quite higher than going to a FLGS for something non-branded.

I think there will be official GW / Shadespire sleeves, but I also saw they will be standard card size.
