I built mine out to my own taste, placed the troggboss head on the basic dankhold body( double handed club). I play it as either a troggboss or a basic dankhold. Since I only have the one model there is never any confusion as to what it is.
the troggboss has the one extra attack obviously, with random damage... if you have the points to spare you could field the troggboss if not field the dankhold.
either way it’s a beautiful model to paint and looks great on the table

Sorry for the multi posting... having to much fun I guess...

IS there any precedence for a group to shift "allegiances". ie the Aelfs in the Cities {esp the Wood Aelves} say, come over and become a welcomed part of Tyrion's clan?  Since Alarielle has kinda sort of forsaken the Wood Aelves?  Those Shadow Warrios are awesome models and would be a cool part of Tyrion's more "military" based world.  And man, I wish they were allies to the Realm Lords!!!  After all, who else to show them the way of being an Aelf than them right?

A lot of people feel like investing in a CoS army is a gamble because who knows if the models are gona stay valid for long and GW does NOTHING to ease this feeling. No warcry support, not a single AoS model and with Lumineth they showed it again by not linking the Elves in the Mortal Realms with the elven deities and armies.

    It royally ****** me off.

  3. Hellu people, i need an opinion:

I got a squig army and my wife gave me as a present a Troggboss/Dankhold Troggoth and i am not sure which one to assemble.

What do you guys think would be more usefull on a squig army and in case a decide to go Trogg in the future, are both options usually auto include on the lists?

    Thanks!

I am really in love with the army and everything that can be done with it, I am in love with everything including the models except one....Scinari Cathaller. Does anyone have any conversion/alternate ideas that can be done on this one model? I would gladly accept any tips on that :)

I am using the sorceress as base of conversion, along a Phoenix Guard brazier.

It’s strange but in the army book, near the beginning there is a little short story blurb, and basically it involves the LRL coming to the « aid » of some city. But the interesting part for me is that there is a character in it who is a warrior of some sort, using a sword and armor etc, who gives orders to the the mages and is apparently the general...

... so where is our noble/general/non-mage hero option???

Ugh. It’s the one thing I wish they had added for launch, everything else can wait. But in fantasy games, the home-made heroes are so important in your army’s story, and at the moment I have the option of a rock mage, for an aspect of the faction that doesn’t interest me too much, or a very specific female wizard model who, whilst cool, isn’t really open to personalization.

Sword Wielding general can be a Warden unit leader.

I had assumed that the Phonician models from Cities would have been integrated into Lumineth and Dispossesed, Wanderers and the remnants of the Dark Elf line would follow suit when their AOS equivalents were released. But as that is not how it turned out I am curious if that is a sign that GW has more faith in the City concept...

I would love GW would figure out what it wants with Phoenix Temple...

    All the Temples are Teclian-aligned.

I dont see that. The temples do not really feel aligned to any of the Twins.

Sure, Teclis is the one who found out about then but it doesnt look like they are only workshiped at Teclis nations. The way it was described feels like all the Lumineth follow this doctrines.

  8. 1 hour ago, LuminethMage said:

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. They have at least another release on the Teclian side (they described the Wind Temple pretty much in detail), and then you have the Zenith (real light elves, or angelic beings), River and war machines if you want. If they want to do that.

None of the other factions have a second god so far. If we get Kurnoth and Malerion, I think it becomes more likely, but until then I would treat this more as an “if” not “when”.

On the other hand you have kind of Tyrionic elves in this book - all the Vanari. They are from Teclian nations, but would look pretty much the same for Tyrion’s nations.

I may be wrong about it but i feel like there is a confusion between nations and temples. The book has Teclis 4 nations but only 1 of the Lumineth Temples: TheMontain, Alarith.

The book say the Vanari are the backbone of all the Lumineth armies so any other temple would be made of 3 Kits if we follow the Alarith example (Hamers, Cows, Stone mage).

    So what we miss is:

    - 4 Nations (sub alligenaces)

    - 3 Elements (Wind, River and Zenith)

    - Tyrion himself.

New models available to pre-order from May 30th and price adjustments.

Interesting that they said price adjustments and not price increases, probably just wishful thinking but could we actually see some kits that lower in price?

    Lol nope, only raises.

    Great.

And in my experience, these sort of things work out well. I mostly play in GWs and in GW tournaments, so all my models need to be 100% GW bits or peices I sculpt myself. And it's a good Idea to shoot for goals like that to focus your creativity (otherwise it is easy to get overwhelmend by models to use as a basis)  Make sure what you make fits the warscroll, this is also why I heavily favor conversion over "count as"

Now, no one has seen the Alarith's generic warcrolll yet, but based on the battle report and the wounds it took, not to mention it's size there are plenty of educated guess people can make. 10+ wounds, 100mm base (going off tons of reference photos) about 5.6 inches tall from hoof to mountain peak, ect.

    AAX7IGa.jpg

That gives so much starting info, That's why my lord/mount are on the cloud/mountain to make it approx. the same size as the Alarith, it will rest on the same base as well. Most mounted lords on great beasts have the 9-14 ish wounds so that checks as well, I even made sure to make the creature visually identifiable as a Aelf spirit with the same mask (even the same mountain as the alarith) so that if there are any battletome abilities that effect Aelementors it would make internal logic that they would effect my mount/lord as well.

All that said, it's probably a good idea to not run your creation alongside a generic version of the same warscoll,  to help fight confusion. For example, I would try not to run my lord next to another base model spirit of the mountain, however different versions/special characters like Avelenor give you a bit more wiggle room, so long as there are no warscroll duplicates using different models, you are normally in the clear.

Any time you plop down a lovingly converted model, with good intent, if someone rejects a game with you because of it, they are probably not going to be fun to play against anyways, so it's a self correcting problem in my book!

    Good luck!

Admire the creativity. Been trying to find a way to make a replacement for the cow thing with no sucess.

I can get behind the cow motif, but I think the iconography of the horns reads a bit overdone. I think this is PURELY because we don't have the complete range of castes for them to fit in with. IE. Wind, River, Zenith. Future expansions may smooth this out so they arn't just considered 'cow elves'. Here's my attempt to tone down the horns while keeping pretty true to the original model and fit in with the standard troops.

Where did you get the plume bits?

Also, excellent point on the stone guard helms.  I planned on using these helms on shape ways just to see if they would work. They keep the roman helm thing enough, and gives me a fun throwback to old helmets (throwing out links like crazy today. https://www.shapeways.com/product/LSVD8PVE9/heaven-praetorian-helmet-2-generation?optionId=112187396&li=shops )

    Wow those are really cool!
