@Kugane, wonderfully written.
I'm looking forward to the explanation of the runes. With the death of the elven pantheon the structure of the elves died too, I'm rather interested how the writers will create the new elven myth of how the universe is structured and relations of the LRL to it.

I hope the sect of the wind will grant movement based shenanigans.

Beige and teal will be the colour pallet.

I don't feel conflicted. I don't like the model for Teclis but the rest is pretty neat and want to see the rest of the line. There was an interest from my side for the Deepkin, but the ordinary infantry is simply not elfin to me, the elites and heroes are nice but in the end I think that's not enough of a reason for me.

I love the model, but I would be terrified to do absolutely anything with Eltharion. Looking at how everything connects, I have no clue how you would even glue half the stuff together, much less paint it!
I bet people are going to put LED in that armour.

It would be so cool if you could upgrade unit champions with (free) artefacts...
The leader/champion seems to be carrying some sort of lantern.

I believe the concept art included mounted archers, so I would imagine there will be an alternate build for that.
There's also an elf with a bow that's direct towards the viewer at about: 0:05 in the video.

About 8 other kits seems a reasonable guess. Mages, non character Eltharion leader, new ranged unit, sword masters, hopefully chariots and few others. I wonder if Teclis will be a dual kit.
I like what they've done with them. Not really feeling Teclis but Eltharion is great.

I wouldn’t rule out Tyrion being part of the faction yet- if Teclis is there he surely can’t be far behind.
Yeah, a lot of data that's currently buzzing around are just guesses. I'm not ruling out anything and rather enjoy the suspense, before the curtain is rolled up.

They are elves after all, and based on the information we get, they are much more proper than murder or soul stealing ones.
They'll have a role to play, however the narrative is strongly focused on Sigmar. I'll be quite happy with more actors on the scene and taking the spotlight from him, even for a brief moment.

Yeah I believe this is a brand new faction, the footstone of one of main ip of aos in the future
Sorry, you're saying they'll play an important role in how AoS is shaped in the future?

It would be nice to be able to build an army of 'High Elves' or whatever they end up being with charters and plenty of supporting units, rather than one godlike model and a few sidekicks in tow.
This is also my preferred way to play.

I wouldn't be surprised. High initiative is what set the elves apart from others, but they've lost it with the changes done to the system. The theme for Hysh so far has been a generation of command points and command ability that grants the strike first in the combat phase. At the very least I expect traits that will allow additional command points to be generated. I'd be really glad, if we got some neat command abilities.
I was talking to friends, and they said Teclis has four mirrors attached on his belt. Anyone wants to speculate what those could be? Reflecting enemy spells?

What kinds of weird units do you want to see?
Definitely an "elven Valkyrie" along with elementals or spirits of Hysh, would be neat, if you could summon them. I do hope there will be a terrain that will integrate the "stained-glass" motive, it's something I'm very fond of, bonus, if it depicts a creation myth.

Feeling rather positive, we're going to see something like them. In the StD tome is a story of how the Chaotic Sphiranxes came to be, it's written:
QuoteOnce, the Sphiranxes were an order of Hyshian mystics...
... served Teclis as custodians of esoteric treasures. Yet little by little, the Sphiranxes’ noble ideals were polluted...... Hounded by Teclis and the military orders of Hysh, they slunk away into the dark corners of the Eightpoints to seethe over the perceived injustices done to them...
Military orders could be non-elven, however it feels a rather fitting task for a unit that's based on Sword Masters.

With what they've been saying about Teclis trying to recreate the past, do you think the factions will be based on old Ulthuan, or the new cultures that have sprung up on Hysh since AOS?
Sometimes things simply cannot be put back together, the provinces with their unique structure are gone. The Cythai weren't named Asur or any derivation of it, the city the Teclis build isn't named "New Lothern", furthermore it isn't healthy to force the new culture into something that was, leaving it no room to grow on its own. I feel we might see few battalions that would act as a "remembrance formation", but sub factions are likely going to reflect the needs and culture of these new elves.

I'd rather like to have rules for the task force that needs to purify the lingering corruption of chaos, nothing fancy, perhaps if they include the elemental shield that the discontinued Archmage had, it grants the "ignore mortal wound on 5 rather than 6". Others would be in the line of move before the game starts, shot and then move, re-roll for charge and mount attacks, come to think of it, the "Martial Defence" from the Spire of the Dawn would be neat.

I've been saving for them ever since they've been mentioned, even with side vices (Desert of the dead KS) I have enough for few boxes, book and characters. Can't wait for Friday morning, hope I don't wake anyone with my excitement.

I don't necessarily regret buying into SCE for AOS, but I have always regretted not going High Elves in WHFB... so I'm so pumped to see high fantasy high elves
Same. I have about 1300 points of SCE but I haven't put them on table in ages. I've started CoS not so long ago, so I hope there will be a way to get the Phoenix Guard or Sisters of the Watch into the army.

An interesting tweet from Phill. I'm sure we're going to learn more rather soon.

Whatever is GW going to call them, in my head they're already named "cat herders."

Holy ****** as a balding guy with glasses this hits home. F you Teclis! You're not the boss of me
Easy there, baldness in a certain percentage of population in exchange for purity of spirit would be a good outcome. Remember that Teclis during his mortal years was considered a cripple and was in essence an outcast, how much he remembers or carries weight now is unknown to me.

Neat, next Friday is going to be marvellous.
His helmet better have a weapon profile in the book, that thing looks like it's no joke!

Wonder if there will be any priests, potentially funny with Teclis having its own model and presence on the table.

The Asur were flexible, if a bit generic army. The changes to initiative was what hurt elves the most, it was something they were known to have. We might see "strike first" command ability or perhaps as a rule on certain units. I feel it's going to be an army that will have few units that have "hate chaos" in their profile, Hysh is one of the realms that was hit hard by the Chaos.
When it comes to selection of spells I see few options. Two lores to choose from (high or light), or one major and one minor, or only one lore but the spellcasters have a spell from high or light by default. Magic was one of the strong areas that elves had, I don't think they'll be simply mediocre.
I think there's a chance we're going to see dragons, however I have no interest in them, either way GW decides is fine with me.
