  1. I wonder what kind of dinosaur their appearance will be modeled after. I sort of hope it's not all "generic T.rex/theropod heads" and they do more varied looking Kroxi heads. About the double kit, maybe we could get Kroxigors with their big clubs (aka the spanking paddles as TWW players say) or the powerfist variant from also TWW.
  2. Those look good ! Amazing to see what GW can do to classic Warhammer armies with their modern form of sculpting.
  3. Remember, we still have likely about 18 months before this edition ends. This is still a big amount of time to release new exciting things. Also, GW tends to drop all the interesting releases in the later half of the editions of their main games. For example, the vast majority of the big 40k releases for 9th have been in the last ~18 months : Orks, Black Templar, Craftworlds, Chaos, the return of the frickin' Squats as the Leagues of Votann, Imperial Guard, World Eaters... so I say we have some time to get excited for proper army releases. Like, at the end of our 2nd Ed, we had the SoB, Slaanesh, 2 waves of Lumineths, and Gravelords right before the new edition dropped. I'd say we're starting to enter that territory now. We have had StD this year, we're going to have Seraphon, FEC are rumoured to be next and there's the Cities of Sigmar around the corner. Of course we're not going to have as much as 40k because that's their n°1 game at the end of the day. But that doesn't mean we can't get a "respectable" amount of releases. And that's before factoring in backwards-compatibility with TOW for even more material.
  4. That would be nice to see as "auxiliaries" for the Sylvaneth ! Next to Kurnothi elves and Sylvaneth tree spirits. Alarielle welcomes all her children after all ! Kurnothi would be pretty top of the list too. I would like to see some that look like the Cursed City hero, like upgraded WFB Wood Elves with a touch of AoS originality, and the satyrs and centaurs like the Underworlds band. If I were to bring Aetar to the game I would make a customisable kit available to some Order factions. A bit like Gotrek, but with more modelling options. The return of the Vampire Coast in AoS ? Hell yeah ! I'm ready for their coming, aye-aye captain' ! ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY, HE'S ARISING FROM THE DEEP !
  5. That's both for me. We're gonna get an Old World article next week, alongside the standard Necromunday and Heresy Thursday previews.
  6. About potential "seeds" for future releases, and before we go out on Terminators vs Tyranids in 40k. Just saw this montage on my AoS FB group. I wish this was real and official, how cool would it be !
  7. All of the propositions above are really good and I love them all. However, I would prefer to see a Skaven/Beasts of Chaos/Ogres range refresh before Grotbag Scuttlers or Deep Ones.
  8. I feel more people here share the same wish. There's likely to be compatibility between TOW Dwarfs and AoS "Grungni duardins". Dwarfs have proven popular thanks to Total War Warhammer, they've made their way into the hearts of many and I'd be down to see more of our favourite stunty little grudge gnomes in plastic form. However, I'd like to see them with more crazy "AoS" elements. WFB sculptors felt they were always restricted by dwarfs, that their "Tolkien feel with steam engines and gunpowder" could only go so far. Like that scrapped dwarf tank for 8th Ed. I'd like to see stuff like this in AoS. Classic Warhammer dwarfs with a twist.
  9. About that rumour : obviously, the fact it was made by a burner account is pretty sus. But some of the things there seem logical to me ! About Adepticon : seems logic to see some SG games there. GW has always done that, and we're due to see Warcry : Nightmare Quest and another KT box set now that the latest ones are on the website. Seraphon... it's going to be either them or the 2 missing Death BT for spring. Once again, seems plausible. About Warhammer Fest : seems logic if they reveal a CoS miniature. It would complete the circle of them announcing them last WH Fest. Also it makes sense for TOW to be building up steam. I mean, it's kinda obvious to say, but every day brings us closer to it... About CoS stuff : 10-14 kits is a big release. For example, Imperial Guard just had a 14 kits release (including the Cadian upgrade sprue, the Aegis defense line and the Kasrkins but not the Kriegers). Here we have 13 kits proposed, this could fit for a release GW has been hyping for about a year now. About what the rumour says, I think most of it is true in a certain way... we're going to get basic melee troops, basic ranged troops, an elite unit, cavalry of some kind, a mage hero, an officer hero, a named character and a big army centerpiece. Why ? Because that's the basic structure of most Warhammer armies. This is not rumour to say that, this is just simple awareness of how GW does things. Nothing mind-blowing about that. About the Excelsior Warpriest returning and the Ironweld upgrade sprue : this is the first time I hear this. But this makes sense knowing GW is sometimes lazy. Like how they rereleased the Primaris Psyker for the Imperial Guard range refresh, or ask the StD players about their "new" Chaos Knights kit that is just an upgrade sprue to an easy to build kit... So GW rereleasing a 1st Ed character instead of designing a whole new Warrior Priest and bringing in the whole Ironweld with a single upgrade sprue to a WFB kit ? Not impossible at all. I find the "7 cities" proposed here, bogus though. GW squatting Living City ? Not a chance. About FEC and the supposed big Destruction wave, I have no clue except "wait for Whitefang to explain". But the latter seems like wishlist to me.
  10. Gholems could get the Ogroid treatment. One unit and one or two heroes available for some of the duardin factions. It would be a simple and cost effective way to add entries to the AoS dwarf ranges at a smaller cost.
  11. Interesting that those don't look very much like the Blood Bowl Pestigors. They look like someone converted the current Gor kit with greenstuff and Nurgle bits to make Pestigors instead. Blood Bowl ones are more bloated, have clothing and antlers instead of horns.
  12. I must say, I was not all expecting the new Skink Starseer. But I'm in love with it now ! Look at him "I'm pondering my orb". Between him and the "pointing dwarf" Codewright, GW has done a great job at making meme miniatures !
  13. I'm gonna buy myself a Gotrek for my birthday. He adds some real punch at little cost money-wise. I'll paint it while finishing the pile of shame. I'd probably kitbash the non valid units to turn them valid. The reason I have a bunch of demigriffs around is because they're my old empire knights I converted to give them second life when they stopped being valid.
  14. Maybe the new Saurus cavalry will give you the option to build one miniature as a hero. A bit like how SCE can build the Knight Draconis out of the Stormdrake Guard kit. That would be a way for GW to provide more options at less costs. Chaos Dwarfs are coming to Total Warhammer and GW has a record of making AoS releases correspond with DLC releases for the game. Like for example, Lumineth wave 1 released a little bit after the Eltharion vs Grom DLC, and we got the plastic Curseling model right before the Champions of Chaos DLC. For me, the Chaos Dwarf DLC for TWW3 is another sign the Dawi Zharr are coming back to tabletop.
  15. I'd prefer new Black Knights instead of a new Corpse Cart. Especially after the mounted Wight King dropped. A double kit across 2 different armies makes little sense in the current form of AoS. Ofc that would mean Hexwraiths would have to be redone, but Nighthaunt always get some love one way or the other every edition, so it's not outside the realm of possibility. I'd still love to see a real Vyrkos Bloodborn kit, even if the Askurgan Trueblades exist. Both are esthetically different enough so they don't step on each other's toes. Never thought about nightmare cavalry (I mean, Blood Knights exist, but on winged nightmares ? That would be dope) and a gravekeeper hero, but that's neat ideas. I like the "body horror" look of some SBGL models.
  16. Tinfoil hat on : I believe that the original plan when GW announced TOW in 2019 was to have it release in 2023 for the 40 years of Warhammer. Unfortunately, Nurgle's plague hit pretty much soon after that and it took our world, and GW, time to recuperate. Sadly, as for many other projects, by the time things could "go back to normal" much time had been lost (a year, maybe a year and a half) and TOW could not be released on the intended date. We'll never know the full story as we're not GW insiders. But this makes some sort of sense as to why TOW is nowhere on the horizon after 4 years.
  17. I have trouble imagining GW is going to release 2 major games (40k 10th and TOW) in the same year. Generally, it's a big game system per year : 2020 was 40k 9th Ed, 2021 was AoS 3rd Ed, 2022 was HH, 2023 is going to be 40k 10th Ed as far as we know. And adding to that, big "main" game releases happen in the summer. End of year is usually for Christmas bundles and holiday stuff like the special holiday minis. Releasing a major game system for Christmas would be unheard off from GW, even if it's for the return of "old Warhammer". I'll also add that because Valrak is predominantly oriented towards 40k and HH, that's where he gets most of his most reliable rumours. Fantasy is a side-subject at best on his channel with a tiny percentage of coverage, so I would remain even more skeptical from the rumours about it. Also, he's pretty unreliable for "long term rumours". When Valrak says something is coming in a few months, you can safely bet he is right, but for longer term stuff like "end of year", "next year"... that's when he starts to be unreliable ; and that's when you need the extra pile of salt. On TOW/AoS matters, I'd rather consider a Whitefang rumour than a Valrak one.
  18. The Slaanesh one is nice but yeah it's a little too smooth for my taste. The current BT cover for Slaanesh is much better imo.
  19. Just a little detail but I think the Khorne BT cover illustration is one of the best of 3rd Ed. It has a grimdark feel and captures the rage and madness of Khorne pretty well. It looks a lot like the cover of the new World Eaters codex, and I'm pretty sure they were made by the same artist. GW needs to commission him/her/them more ! That artstyle is amazing and goes very well with Warhammer.
  20. I share the same opinion. I thought that since Valkia made her way into Total War Warhammer, GW was going to capitalise on that and strike while the iron was hot to give her a new miniature soon. Instead, we get a new generic hero. Even if I'm a little bit sore about that, the concept of a "Khorne occultist" that specialises in rituals sets her apart from other Khorne heroes (and Khorne has a lot of them). I like the Slaanesh hero though. He's so smug ! I love him.
  21. Hello everyone ! A little bit of context before getting into the thick of it : I started collecting AoS in early 1st Ed, my choice what was at the time Empire because funny Rennaissance Germans in a fantasy world was cool. However as I was a bit of a wee lad (I was still into my teens) I bought a lot of... in retrospect incoherent stuff, mostly because I bought what I thought looked cool. Fast forward 8 years later to 2023 and I have this big collection of painted minis (and still a pile of shame but it's not that big, thank Sigmar) and it makes me want to get back into AoS after taking a leave of the hobby in general (because demanding studies and covid). Here is what I already own and is already painted : - 1 freeguild general on griffon - 1 freeguild general - 1 battlemage - 30 freeguild guards - 30 greatswords - 20 handgunners - 9 demigryphs (6 with lances 3 with halberds) - 10 OOP huntsmen that I proxy as shadow warriors - 5 pistoliers and 5 outriders I also have unpainted (aka the pile of shame) : a battlemage, 20 guards, 10 handgunners, 3 demigryphs, 5 pistoliers and a celestial hurricanum. This is quite an eclectic mix of units. Should I pick up a few additions to fill up any gaps in the army ? And what kind of army list do you advise me to build if I want to play from my collection ? Handgunners, demygriph or greatswords heavy ?
  22. Talking about Kharadrons... I can't find the Endrimaster with Endrinharness on the website. What happened to it ? He's OOP now ?
  23. Long time lurker, but recently poster here now that I have overcome the dreaded glitches that prevented me from creating my TGA account ! I've been building myself a nice Cities of Sigmar army since a while, but they rarely left the shelf where they stand on parade to go to the tabletop. I'm looking forward for correcting that wrong, and talk all things AoS (lists, modelling, rumours) with you guys !
  24. Newbie here, but I think this has a place in the positivity thread ! I would like to thank TGA, because this forum's existence just rekindled my will to play AoS after one year of my miniatures waiting on the shelf !
