  1. If it's done with style, then I'm all for it. Sometimes it isn't done with style. Sometimes it's a slavish way of making an otherwise fairly ordinary model a bit more impressive (or just to fill out a bigger base size... ref: Lord of Hubris).

Cannot wait to see the faction focusses. I hope they preview the Keeper of Secrets warscroll with Slaanesh, got my fingers crossed it will actually function as it should in 4th and be a terrifying and fast melee blender in the ~400 points bracket.

    Now there's some sexy talk!

My Keeper is my pride and joy. My favourite miniature that I've ever painted. I need it to be a killer!

Lately, I have been feeling a bit down, and painting Warhammer has helped me deal with that. So I guess this is what keeps me motivated to paint : to know I am creating something beautiful, no matter how slow I paint (painting ~45 minutes a day when I can, it's gonna be slow).

Painting can be very therapeutic. Without wanting to talk about my problems too much, I have to say that one of the reasons I got back into Warhammer after a long time away from it was because I have mental health problems and I was encouraged to have a hobby. It does help a lot.

And you're so right, you are creating something beautiful! I know I'm nowhere near being the best painter around, but I paint my models to the best of my abilities, and that makes me happy.

Another downside of faction specific BT:s that I have realised is that as an opponent it's impossible to memorize all factions different BT:s meaning I can't plan ahead to stop my opponents BT:s (if it's even possible), compared to the eight or so standard BT:s that everyone use.

So for me I would like perhaps 10 BT:s that you can counter play and maybe at most onebor two faction specific that I can keep in my memory that my opponent can do in the game.

Oh, I gave up trying to remember even a fraction of all the Battle Tactics a long time ago! Just remembering the ones available to me is challenging enough to my poor memory.

  5. I very much want my cake and to eat it too when it comes to Battle Tactics.

They peeve me greatly when an opponent effortlessly pulls them off, and when they run completely counter-intuitively to the way the battle is going. I've often thought that the game would be better off without them.

... but then they do make me think. I'm lazy when it comes to formulating a battle plan, and would easily fall into the trap of playing games the same way every time. I guess Battle Tactics circumvent that, to a greater or lesser extent.

If the Cogfort rumour is true, and not a mock in the end, this could open AoS to another dimension in terms of miniature sizes. With Cogforts we could go as big as the biggest 40k Titan. Do you see GW going wild and having bigger pieces like this kind of Worms?

    Size isn't important.

    Don't snigger.

I used to glue spare bits from my friends armies on my bases in their colour schemes. I just reminded myself that i should continue this XD.

(And they did the same thing)

Oh, that's always fun! Even though my Slaanesh army doesn't have a regular Khorne opponent, I've made a point of decorating my bases with a few decapitated helmeted heads that I've painted up in Khorne colours.

He is really a big AoS character since the beginning and he actually rules over Ulgu , the realm of shadow: it is really wierd we haven’t seen him yet !

I assume it's partly because any character in AoS needs an army to be in (or lead). I can't claim to be that knowledgeable about the lore, but from what I've gathered there's been precious little said about who it is that Malerion rules over. So, we're effectively talking about creating and conceptualising a whole new faction.

That's another thing that I really want to see. I'm not talking about TOW customization, but at least the option to buy (with points) upgrades for characters.

I remember the first time I got acquainted with the AoS set of rules, one of my immediate thoughts was "oh... so there's no way to get upgrades to heroes at all?" I still think that it's something that's lacking. Like you say, it doesn't have to be on the same level as The Old World.... but some gesture towards it would be nice. Something to make a 'choppy' hero actually choppy.

Some ogors with orc / Ork heads, playing with poses a bit and adding some greenstuff fur and horns to the helmets.

Lots of painting work to go on these! They are v. rough at the moment, but I like adding variety.

The characters also need some work, pics another time.

They look great! A really natural-looking fit. Well done.

I honestly don't know how much of a problem it would be from a gameplay perspective to just double the damage output of infantry heroes whose main role is to fight. It feels like the game can handle it, honestly.

This sounds like a tasty solution to me. Even if it did involve a fairly steep increase in points.

But I guess higher points across the board means less models on the table... and we're all aware that GW is in the business of selling more models, not less.

For those who say Citadel don't change their pots they do. Just not by much and never an improvement.

Hey, that's not true. Anyone remember the horror of the screwtop pots?

So far I like what I'm seeing from the core rules. I just hope GW won't cut down points to force players to buy more minis.

I second that... if only for the ease of transport. The current size of a 2000 point army is a comfortable amount to haul around (often using public transport) I feel.

That is actually canon. Its stated that any other Chaos God would've been driven insane by the torment of being captured and having their essence forcibly drained to retrieve Aelven souls, but Slaanesh is able to avoid it by finding pleasure in the process.

    That's my boy.

in my opinon Slaanesh breaking free, without something equally or more interesting at play, would be one of the worst lore decisions they could make.  pretenders is the coolest part of Slaanesh in every sense and it honestly feels like it'd just make him blend in with the others more.  with the GHR rising as a fully fledged chaos god For Real this time i see no reason for the prince to make his return to the dinner table since that spot is already taken and he's arguably the most compelling of all the chaos gods where he's at right now.

Exactly. Damn well said. Slaanesh as lurking, malevolent, ever-watching, all-powerful threat, biding His time... it's awesome stuff. And a bit Lovecraftian, come to think of it.
