Curious to hear some success stories about our summoning, we've all heard about seraphon putting 1000 points of extra stuff down over a game, or sylvaneth doing their shenanigans, death bringing hordes of skellies back ect.
So my question is, how many extra points have you successfully summoned onto the field? I don't really want to include splits unless you summoned pinks from fate points, my reasoning is that you already pay for the ability when you pay the 200 points for them.

I'm a little confuse. Our Hags can pray twice each in our hero phase. So if one Hag knows Catechism, she prays for Catechism and fails...can she pray again to try to get it off? Our book says that each prayer can only be prayed for once. Is that one success, or just roll the one die? Thanks for any insight.

I had a few 1k games before FAQ (so I thought you'd need 10 real Fate Points to spend the Blue Points). While getting to the 10 points was very hard, I managed to get a good amount of Blue Points by sacrificing Pinks (not only the Trait) and refilling them. I often managed to get around 60 Blue Points out of 20 Pinks. Usually hit the 10 Fatepoints around turn 3 when I was almost tabled but managed the comeback with all the Blues to steal objectives and always turned the match in my favor.
It usually was a close victory but I guesse with earlyer summoning it will be a lot easier to deny space and contest objectives.
I've yet to come up with a list i like with pinks in it yet.
Personally im too addicted to tzaangores and skyfires.
I also don't own enough blue and brim mini's to get full value out of the pinks.
It's pleasing to hear that the summoning has kept you in games, post FAQ it'll be easier to get those fate points up slightly. -

A double turn will let them clear you off the board. Saving up fate points didn't really seem to be much of an option, better to spend them early and get another line of bodies up.
With my wealth of 2.0 experience *1 game* ive also come to the same conclusion haha.
I just dont see us saving up the points fast enough, unless you oppnonent is another tzeentch or death army.

So I've been playing DoK since the initial launch but just as a side army to my main Lizards. however I'm thinking about transitioning them to be my main army and was wondering where I should expand, especially if I want to go competitive.
I have
Morathi
Blood Cauldron - Can be used either Hag or Slaughter Queen, I have Khaine glued on with plans to have a separate Bloodwrack when the box is available again
Hag or Queen on foot depending which is on cauldron
3x10 Witches - Can run a unit of 20 but no more because of the command units, definitely wanna pick up more of these though
Blodwrack Medusa on foot
10 Blood Stalkers
10 Blood Sisters
Pretty safe bet to have more witches, heart renders are also a very popular choice.
Sisters of slaughter have their place too. I think the real trick is how you want to compose your army unit size wise.
Having a extra command point or two is a must as well. -

Not sure what was in those 2 lists unfortunately. Came 33rd with changehost though, first time actually playing Tzeentch or AoS2 as well. Got a bit lucky with some scenarios and match ups. Managed to win 3/5 games even though I was practically tabled in 4/5 of them! It's lacking any threat in combat, but not sure it ever had that before? Think I'd do better with some more diverse summoning options to play with.
Never played changehost myself, but the point of it was to tie your enemy up in combat with splitting pinks/blues and brims for ever on objectives while you throw as many spells as possible with your wizards.
How did you find not splitting into combat? -

Ok the list itself.
Resilience
Firstly I don’t like tabling my opponents with an alpha strike so I designed a list which could be hit by an alpha strike instead. Hence taking hagg nar and the slaughter queen on cauldron. As @Aspirant Snaeper said - certain units like the sisters of slaughter then become tanky as hell.
Movement
you need a flexible army - witches and sisters running and charging is great but it’s even bettter when those same sisters and your cauldron can retreat and charge because of troupe. Doomfires and harpies back this up.
Flexibility
need weight of attacks take witches - need rend and a smattering of mortal wounds take snakes and doomfires. You need to be able to react to what your opponent has so you need both options in your army. 2 command points and a triumph amplifies this.
I haven’t tried Drachi ganeth yet as I settled on hagg narr early on and have just practiced with it since March.
How did you find the realm rules interact with your list?
hinder or benefit you at all?
Also, how do you feel about Morathi? too much of a point sink?

Did some digging and found an older version of his list combined with some shots from his Twitter.
Looks like a Hag Narr Temple - Slaughter Queen on Cauldron, Hag Queen and Bloodwrack Medusa. 30 Witch Aelves, 30 Sisters of Slaughter?, 10 SoS?, 5 Doomfires, 10 Blood Sisters, 2x5 Heartrenders, Slaughter Troupe.
He's on Twitter so maybe poking him on there might get you a response.
No Morathi? I'm intrigued!

Jusy saw the results from Blackout18.
Top tzeentch was 5th, with 1 more in top 30.
Anyone have any details on the lists that were taken?
Pretty intrigued to see what's in them.

Bit early, anyone have details of the dok list that came 2nd at Blackout?
-
So opinions on bad match ups for us?
Finally had my first game running dok, I totally depred the game But it was a good learning experiece.
Faced off against a death army with Nagash, 40 skellies, chain rasps, ect.
I put a unit of 25 witches into the 40 skellies which just bounced, i kinda expected that Would be the outcome. But I was just getting a vibe for the potential damage output a fully buffed unit of witches can do.
Kinda got me thinking tho, we cant rely on mind razor against death due to thier high bravery, they're resliant, grow back.
So are they a touch match up?
Potentially the same thing applies for nurgle?

It says on her warscroll she must be the general to use orgy of slaughter, but others are telling me that ALL characters can use their command abilities in the new edition, regardless of whether they’re the general. This is of course for matched play games.
With faq's being topsy turvy at the moment, who knows.
But from my understanding she must be your general. -

With the changes to Mark of the Conjurer, a LoC with Cogs will yield 6 Fate points per turn for only 440 points. I guess that's nothing to joke about. Kairos on the otherhand ..
This is true, my game was prior to the FAQ.
380 still doesn't sit right with me.
i feel the high cost for wizards has a flow on affect, yes we can summon but summoning takes time and since those wizards come at a premium points wise it leaves us scarce of the table the first few turns.
Im probably just complaining now so i'll stop haha.

@Olincay by any chance was your game vs ogors the batrep on the Doom and Darkness channel?
Yea mate, hope you enjoyed the rep.

Finally had my first game for 2.0
Faced off against ogors, from a game mechanics point of view 2.0 is great, from a Tzeentch point of view i feel alittle underwhelmed.
It was a tight and close game, only being pipped at the end for a loss.
Main gripe is that things just seem overcosted for what they do, i feel a LOC shoudn't be 380 points, i also feel the fate points for summoning is a tad high.
To my surprise i did manage to summon some blues who then split into brims, but there was no way i was going to summon anything else.
Seeing the results from the midwest meltdown hasn't filled me with hope either. -

In my opinion, the more tzaangores the better.
There is nothing else in tzeentch that can put out as much damage as 30 tzaangores and still have staying power.
Stacking command points for battleshock immunity combined with destiny dice will ensure they wont melt away.

I'm sure this has been asked in the aos 1 thread, but still.
Do people find value in equipping with elves with bucklers? or is double weapon the better option?

Hey mate, just to clear it up for your self.
You can use Blue / Brimstone horror points instead of fate points but our summoning rules currently state "At the end of your movement phase, if you have 10 or more fate points you can use them to summon of the summonable units list".
So while you can combine BH points with fate points they don't substitute them, so until we are at 10 fate points we can't summon them at all as they are summoned via our normal mechanic, all be using it the BH points instead of / with Fate points.
Right, clear as mud haha.
So why are we paying premium points for pinks if they're not really splitting for free? The more time goes on the more underwhelmed by summoning i am becomming, same can be said for Tzeentch in general really.
Cheers for clarifying that up tho. -

It should be noted that whilst the base sizes are suggested, it also notes that if you don't use the correct base size you should use the chart to measure to the base that "should" be there. So you can put a model on the wrong base, but you should measure as if it were the "correct" base size.
Which for ease generally means that you want to use the correct base size - though I will admit GW has been messing around with bases for a while now and I really hope that them having made this table means that they'll stop randomly changingbase sizes!
I will NEVER be measuring from imaginary bases, far as im concerned the correct base size is the one they supply with the box.
