I hope that one day GW just releases Silent people with a full range and rules with literally no announcements. Just shadow drop them and make them the new meta.

Well...they're silent so they should'nt make rumor noises before.
But we need chorfs first :P .

I wonder if we're gonna just see a couple of characters? It would make sense to have a lighter book release around the same time as the FEC relaunch.

Fec relaunch imho will be after that book....considering how they did with book 2 and cities they have some time to put out book 3 with some models.

    The more the merrier.

Also, I am not aware at 100% of all of them. Who are the Dogrukhs? Google doesn't want to answer me 😅

Drogrukh are the Kragnos folk....they are extinct in the lore though i think gw could make an interesting narrative to bring them back in the timeline.
They already did with the Draconith (their eggs saved by the Seraphon) so i don't think is too far fetched.

    "If".

Still the first half of the next year is big enough to stuff another "battletome" before the 4th edition.
But i really doubt, before the 4th ed starter they will churn out a new army(even if they already did in the past).

So sad. The more seeds we have for new factions/ models the best.

We have plenty though?(other than the Silent People that were an underworld background footnote like Katophranes).
-Grotbag (and Gitmob to some extent as they already exists in Snarlfang).
    -Malerion
    -Chorfs
-Valay of the deeps(octopi duardin) and some others sea species.
    -Gholemkind
    -Dogrukh

Also some expansion for already existing "microfactions" like deadwalkers and Firebellies.

  6. Just a random thought: what if the "lady of ruin" mentioned in the campaigns book is the lady of cankerwall for Nurgle?(the saint/lady of the order of the fly).

Are'nt heralds a sign for greater characters to come?

No...they definitely dont need another Hero/Character. They need more actual playable units and not just wasted one off Underworld things or more heroes to add to the pool

While i agree on no more heroes a special character as a face of the faction could be useful to sell them more (other a much needed miniature and troops wave).

  8. I'd love a Grimnir magmatic Avatar like the eldar one.
As Grungni said Grimnir's return is still far and the set is not ready to bring that....but little avatar statues of Duardin majesty could be the way to empower his prowess in battle in a "new way"(maybe with some weapon options to differ his different aspects).
Another monstrous cavalry centerpiece it would be redundant with the Droth so i'd prefer a new idea.
Slayers need also a special character to give them more narrative potential....maybe the fyrequeen of the Lofnir(iirc?) Lodge on top of a beautiful war altar.
I'm still mad that the war altar idea was "an option" during the 7th edition of whfb when the designers were creating the new dwarf range and still we got nothing.....Fyreslayer could embrace something like that (war altar of Grimnir).

Having a 5th book in dawnbringers wouldnt push the next edition by a year. In fact it wouldn't push it at all.

New edition is in summer so the 5th book will be very placeable in 2024 q1...they could even throw in a new army in between(if fec comes in winter).

  10. Bonesplitterz represents Gorkamorka unified while the other two side of warclans represents Gork and Mork.

The underworld warband seems an experiment about some new ideas.

The caveman style seems the way to go,it fits well the destruction as whole and the shamanistic side of them.

I don't think gw will eliminate them, they're more integrated in the orruk lore and aesthethic than the cities elf/dwarf side in cos.

Also bonesplitterz were not cobbled together with other orruk like the cities whfb armies were.

So you're telling me they hid a major Dwarf narrative shift inside of an issue of White Dwarf? I know the magazine is named after him, but almost no one is going to be aware of this. Sounds like an event that should have been in a Dawnbringer book.

There are still other similar collections though if we consider KO lore...

I think if AoS mirrors 40k (which I think it does to a great extent) then Gholemkin could be a cool part of refreshed Dispossessed.

I was thinking the same, ironkin popped up in 40k and Gholemkind have a suspicious similar name....imho even the design will be something similar to some extent.

Beast of Chaos are interesting. For one they lean heavily into the bull/goat aesthetic. Is that truly unique enough for AOS? I know they have the other random creatures and monsters, but it’s kind of a weird combo.

This is a pure guess, but I keep having this feeling that Chaos dwarves and Beasts of chaos might be redone to fit together somehow. Hashut models already carry the bull aesthetic and having a dwarf army with pure machinery is almost too identical to the Kharadron. Having the dwarves with machines and monsters would give them the kind of unique spin AOS tends to gravitate toward.

Chaos dwarves in the lore uses macines, demonic things like K'daii and monsters like lammasu and tauruses, they are already using machines and monsters so i don't think they'll get changed much.
Also, considering the hashut warcry warband, i think we'll see some auxiliaries and slaves (greenskins and ogors, humans perhaps).
Beasts of chaos are the opposite of them, they can't fit together: chaos dwarves is the evil of industry, beasts are the rejection of civilization, it would make not much senses.

Because Malerion and Grugni are not coming out anytime soon, but I am guessing Kurnothi is closer so that why the Wanderers got booted from Cities.

but then considering the weirdness of Old world it just maybe that not everything will be available at launch to begin with.

Considering Ironweld i don't think we'll see the dwarves completely expunged from cos tbh in any case.
IDK the idea of a multi-species city army is neat and i like the lore about it....but seeing the dwarves go out to become something "autonomous" like Khazalid empire reborn or even a Lumineth-style-aos take on classic dawi would'nt make me sad either.

  15. OK time to bet:
Aos: book 2+ orruks models, teaser for book 3 and new roadmap.
    40k:space marines + necron

HH: some power armor mark made plastic (3?2) and tease for the non-sm armies getting something.
Tow: pegasus vs TK plastic new heroes, boxes announcement and release date for the game (finally!)
    Warcry: ogors or sylvaneth
    Underworld: chaos warband
    BB:please be chorfs.

I’m calling BS on the Bonereapers, because unless they’re planning on basically rehashing the Tithe Echelon box from a few years back, there are barely enough units in the entire range to fill the box without resorting to big pieces or a lot of heroes.

Alternatively it’s going to consist of like, 120 Mortek Guard because every Ossiarch force is contractually obligated to have at least 20 Mortek Guard.

Unless Ossiarch are getting some love in the Harbingers books but i doubt, imho they will be back when the narrative will focus again on the eightpoints stalemate.
