    https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/05/05/revealed-the-massive-project-to-put-mortals-back-into-mortal-realms/

The only info is that they have a "macabre dedication to the god-king", a bunch of symbols of sigmar, comparison to the imperium in 40k and of course the stupid name*.

We have nothing to go on that doen't scream "religious fanatic".

*No crosses, still a crusade, so they must want the real world connection.

But those things are already introduced in the lore, i would'nt call them red flags.
Seems mostly  marketing-speak using the "grimdarkness" to boost interests....(40k comparison is not a "coincidence").
The community articles got many errors during years (i remember clearly some lore errors that the battletomes did not have) so is still "vague".
I would call red flags the latest models from cities that seems just plain whfb empire recycling.

Info is very sparse on the reconquistadors (dawnbringer crusade is a stupid term and I won't use it). We had one article full of red flags and that was it.

I expect it at the end of the edition, and am unsure what its effect on Cities will be.

    What red flags?
Article seemed just to announce cities will get something but nothing much on info.

guys are we not forgetting that they mentioned something about new humans coming? a rework of old empire similar like what they did with highelves--> lumineth should also be in the cards for next yr or?

Lumineth will get their battletome soon with a new hero, nothing for them in this edition probably after that.

I don't care about rules. Or fiction books.

If we subtract that, most of what came out were single heroes, though the swamp orcs are really good.

As for the amount of updated books: that's their own doing. Three years for an edition is really short, and it requires a lot of updates.

Let's be honest, that's the major problems with AOS right now.
They could even churn out 20 battlettomes in a year but without miniatures wave seems hollow.
Idoneth,Fyreslayers and many others needed more so i get why people are not that much pleased.
Also considering the "late year" big release is chaos i really doubt we'll see something big before....hoping at least for a couple units for one of the destruction tomes but i fear we will not get much(other than the singular hero).
The white dwarf update remains also a mistery imho...they were done like the world eaters ones as placeholder for a future release?Or not?
I just hope next year will start better, at least this year i could concentrates on Votann but i really hope the Kharadron\Bonereapers will get a second wave next year .

  5. @zilberfridWithout using the "native american ones" skinchangers existed in norse myths as Ulfhednar\berserkr (is not the same but the whole idea of lycantrophy is changing the skin, many european countries got something like that) so they could just expand them like the old chaos skinwolves....the native myths are also more different and not just "skinchangers" but more like some possession monster.

Also imho destruction has to expand with new "greenskins lookalike" from folklore and mythical lookalike that mesh wells with the old "ogre+troll+orcs+goblins" idea (every country got some legends about impish and brutish creatures).
We got 8 realms the greenskin\Troggoths and Ogor should have adapted in some way like Krulez did.
Liking also the idea of some species native to ghur like Birdmen or barbarian tribes.

Monday is usually New Model (Monday), which has typically been a FW Specialist Game reveal for Blood Bowl or Necromunda, though we've had other systems in the past (like Arcane Cataclysm).

Thursday usually gets a Leagues of Votann article, which can be lore, a new model or both.

Wednesday is shilling whatever they're putting onto W+ that week.

New model monday is used for every system though and lately was used for Votann(we saw warriors, exo armors and the vehicle)-
Thursday is used mostly for HH with the "Heresy thursday article".
Considering the articles about Cthonian guilds i think this monday we'll see the Votann berserkers (the article mentioned we'll see soon "their most augmented members").

  7. Chorfs takes also from Persians (achemenid and Sassanids).
Instead the "whole demon sacrificial worshipping " is mostly taken from the Carthaginian and the Caananites human sacrifices as Romans and Israelites talked about them (the whole "bovine" iconography of Moloch and sometimes Baal, the being burnt alive part and so on).
Seeing the warcry warband i think GW will stick to that (also considering TOW) probably just "modernizing" some aspects.

I do love the idea of Cities as a cosmopolitan melting pot, but dawnbringers is just a tired old religious cliché, and I think the evasive answers about the rest is them not wanting to bear bad news.

They can't change the whole cities concept though.
But who knows....it would not makes sense to eliminate elves or dwarves from cities.
Even if gw wants to squat the whfb leftovers they could still finally make some azyrite\Sigmarite dwarves and elves that worship Sigmar and the pantheon, and the whole religious thing should just be expanded to them (dawnrbinger crusades uses the help of DOK even so...).

  9. MMM....
I like the warband but don't seem too distant to old world empire.
I think some "non-human" elements would have improved the rendition....something like a dark elf torturer or dwarf gunman.
Hoping for some "aosifying" in the project like over-the-top technology for ironweld, more mystical\holy elements to Order of Azyr(i liked the priestess\prophet of Cursed city) and obviously a new look for freeguild.

There's nothing confirmed about 10th ed next year.

The recent "leak" about it was highly suspect and full of holes.

The tenth was expected before that dubious leak though.
IIRC even Valrak (who got everything acccurate so far) said something down the line about "the tenth approaching".

  11. Liking Angron as model but....Khorne is boring.
And another "big reveal" for 40k is just a letdown when they already clogged the hypetrain for Votann with HH\CSM\WE\Imperal guard...:P.
Only good news is that probably Blades will get Khorngors.
I'm a bit sad we're left in shallow waters for some time tbh...we don't even know what destruction tomes are arriving but 40k got spoiled nearly everything already.
GW imho is dropping the ball hard considering AOS,and the next year we'll get the tenth edition of 40k so probably another year of "space marines".

Also a thought i got today: Votann got Ironkin, and the name is similar to Gholemkind...what if, as Votann already borrows from KO,ironkins are a "foreshadow" for some Gholemkind in Aos?
I could see something like that.

Now imagine that instead of Kragnos we got Kurnoth als the destructive aspect of nature (and life) along with the Kurnothi as a wild but not brutish Destruction faction. Like... destruction-wild-elves with satyrs and the like.

How would *that* edition would have played out. I would have everything. Storytelling, a new destruction faction, some actual sense, an unhealthy focus on aelves! Best edition ever. Instead, we got a goat that screams every time it gets hurt.

    >.<

It would have been even worse.
Being a 40k centric year didn't help though...(thanks also to HH i say).

  13. They also mentioned the subfactions:
    -Urani-Surtr regulates
-Thurian greater league (it should be the "main" color scheme judging by the icon)
    -Trans-Hyperian Alliance
    -Kronus Hegemony
    -Ymir Conglomerate

The names feels very "sci-fi"(as the symbols as they seems more "corporations symbols of sort") and imho a bit calls out the various "trade federations" tropes.....maybe we could expect some Kharadron inspiration?

  14. So...next White dwarf will contains rules update for World eaters that are pretty much the new 40k  "standalone codex" after Votanns (so probably coming in 2023).
So considering this,i'd say that all white dwarf armies AOS got rules update in the white dwarf are just waiting for having their 3rd edition battletome with new units?(slaves were one of them iirc and they are getting things late this year).
So there's still hope for those armies?

I believe that the reason why GW decide not to expand any dwarven army is that they want to soup all dwarfs together in 1 book (KO, FS, Dispossessed) as a new Khazalid Empire and maybe we will get any love when this book will come up(there is a ton of hints in the lore right now). So as I sayed long time ago it looks like we will have 3 books for Elves, 1 for dwarfs, 1 for SCE and 1-2 for Humans.

If they wanted they whould've done already, like COS and Warclans already did.

LIVING NEHEKARANS?! BY PTRA’S GLORIOUSLY GOLDEN BEARD!!! Wait. How in the name of all that is sandy did you reach this conclusion?

Because i remembered Ghyranite knights faithful of Alarielle of the cities are literally Bretonnia 2.0(see eight lamentations).
Hysh iconography was always "egyptian themed" and the Nekeharan's lore was similar to Hysh magic (and the Liche used also light magic),Hysh is full of deserts and is a highly holy place...if Aos will have some sort of Nekeharans\not!Egyptiam themed free peoples will definitively come from that realm(or simply they'll give hyshian themed bits to make that thing even possible).
