    Or  adapt the WarCry system for AoS:

    Each one is rolling 7 (?) dices

    The one with the most singles has the priority. Doubles can be used for spells, comand abillitys and summoning, Triples for elite abilities and endless spells.…

    Oi. I kind of like that idea. Just leave the game as it is now, but remove the 1 CP per turn. Still keep the extra CP for 50 points (and extra CP for Battalions and other special abilities).

    Now priority is rolling 6D6 every turn for priority. You also get one Wild Dice per battle round just like in Warcry.

    But, instead of Doubles, Triples, Quadruples activating specific abilities they grant you X command points for the round.

    Double = 1 CP

    Triple = 2 CP

    Quad = 4 CP

    -edit-

    Or remove everything related to Command Points, and make the priority roll the ONLY way to get CP.

    You either go first or you sow the whirldwind... theoretically.

    I think you're right about it being less similar to Kill Team.  Even the game length.  It plays way faster than KT because people are not pausing each and every phase and going "maybe I have a tactic I should use..." <-- that bogs down KT so much.  If people don't take too long to choose their model to activate and their actions and abilities, many of the 3 turn objective missions can take half an hour.  The game really does start right in the action.  Fighting and scoring objectives turn 1.

    From what I can tell, it's essentially an AoS version of Necromunda 2017 with the ability to use many more models from outside the Warbands that are made for use with the game.  A lot of people seem to be comparing it to Kill Team, but I'm honestly not seeing the similarities unless it's in game length.

    SG

    These are both pluses for me. I do think the campaign stuff is not that similar to Necromunda as that's basically turned into a full blown Skirmish RPG now. Which is fine. I don't need another one. A lighter campaign will fit a nice niche for me (and probably actually see the table more often).

    My one's working fine for Other units (4 of the 5 gobbapalooza!). Try deleting the list and starting again? Most of my old ones were acting really weird post-update.

    Hmm ya. I just deleted the app and redownloaded it and it won’t let me add Other Units to the Main Body of my SC or KO forces that I just tried to make.

  4. I've been wanting to dip my toe into KO for a while now, and figured I'd give it a shot with Meeting Engagements. I was able to cook together a list for an ME force, that I'd be happy to expand on later.

    Just looking for any thoughts from experienced KO folks. I will probably pick up and Endrinmaster too, to swap with the Admiral and see which I like better.

    SPEARHEAD

    3 x Skywardens (100)

    3 x Endrinriggers (120)

    MAIN BODY

    Arkanaut Admiral (120) - General

    10 x Arkanaut Company (120)

    5 x Grundstok Thunderers (90)

    Arkanaut Frigate (200)

    REARGUARD

    6 x Endrinriggers (240)

    I get a feeling they'll try to curb this with the battleplans meant to go with the mode. It'll probably be very objective holding heavy, based more on positioning and holding ground with a very limited amount of units, as opposed to the efficiency in murder approach we see in most meta lists. I'm also hoping they do a static turn limit of 4, as opposed to the standard 5 for matched play. Give any of the faction wrecking balls 2 turns and they'll easily mop up most of what can be brought in at 1k, especially if they come in fresh at the start of turn 3.

    There was a comparison to Kill Team in the very first post in the thread, and I'd like to make that as well. But I'm making mine to Kill Team Arena  specifically, especially in terms of the rigid design. KT Arena (not counting the elites option) is IMO GW's most balanced system. It has a heavy focus on positioning, holding ground, stalling your opponent, and squeezing every last drop of utility from each and every model you bring onto those 22x30'' boards. It's like 40k chess, which I absolutely adore.

    Don't get me wrong, I still very much like the current meta and how AoS behaves at 2k, but man I'd love to see something as tactically robust as KT Arena, but with my Gitz and at a more impressive scale.

    Exactly this. Besides... having an "elite force" of anything outside of Order or Destruction would just feel... odd to me.

    Different game formats also means that different forces may be more useful in one or the other - which is a boon for both GW and people that like certain models.  An example is that within main Age of Sigmar many people don't care for the Gargant rules.  But in a game that uses mostly minimum sized units, is set at a lower point size, and requires a degree of splitting your army up there may be increased effectiveness for a cheap behemoth.  People may find that they still don't find it to be a good unit - but a big structural change for the game could create a big shake-up in regards to what is good in this game mode versus the traditional game.  I am all for anything that makes more models have interesting or compelling uses - and I am just in favor of variety in general.

    100%.

  8. I’d be open to having different themed BCR allegiances... Winter, Summer (Fire)... whatever.  There has to be other tribes in parts of the realm that are attuned not just to the Everwinter but other elemental forces.

    For my money, AoS has been on a long arc bending away from Chaos vs Order and more toward the basic elemental and fundamental building blocks of the Realms anyway. The lore and even the game itself has been asking many questions about what makes up the Realms.

    What is a Soul? Who owns it? Where does it go when it dies (after it dies again in Shyish)?

    Where did all these minor gods and demigods go after the Age of Myth?

    etc...

    I’d hate to see the lore start to be more and more limited too quickly.

    I kind of defeat the purpose of why BCR player like and are  drawn to the army

    I hear ya. But... given this is an objective based game (for at least Matched Play), I'd still be OK with it. Sure... I "could" throw 2000 points into 5-6 models still... but if I can at least start with that and then start to splash in Gutbusters over time to make the army more competitive.... that works.

    Out.

    To be honest, the Darkoath models interest me (as does the scenery), so I may end up buying it. If it's Chaos only, though, I doubt it will  hold my interest.

    They confirmed on Facebook it won’t stay Chaos only.

  11. I'm currently reading the Spear of Shadows book... and it cites various different guilds that have very different creeds from each other, as well various degrees of honor. There are some guilds that seem downright evil, and are suspicious of Sigmar. I agree that the faction could do with a splash of new models, but what's already there is very open to customization. I'm currently taking some bits from the Frostgrave Soldiers and Barbarian boxes to create a good mix of aesthetics.

    Not every guild is from Azyr. There are a lot of folks liberated by Sigmar who have somewhat reluctantly joined forces with Azyrite guild members. And, there is definitely tension between the humans native to a realm and the "colonizers" from Azyr. This is  described in Spear of Shadows as well as City of Secrets. So, having a mix of model styles makes sense, but so does a pure army of matching aesthetics.
