    Elaborate, please.

40K army building rules. You can only have 3 of any datasheet, or 6 if it has the Battleline keyword. Something that has done a lot of harm to narrative focused collection. Want a Catachan Jungle Fighters army? Tough because you can only take six squads, which limits the army size considerably.

That's a huge step backwards and a big numbing down at depth and customisation.

In line with where they took 40k. I’m not a fan of this design direction either to be honest. Just glad there’s been no mention of a rule of 3/6

I'm also not a fan of Kragnos as a concept or model, and would gladly take a separate Battletome that builds new lore about their separation from him and new reasons behind the iconography/scare shields, etc. That would help fill out the pages of a new Battletome. Add in a few more units that are cavalry and regular gitz (like the sloggoth and kill-bow crew) and they begin to have their own purpose, role and more defined identity in the Mortal Realms.

The Ironjawz now have enough of their own units, story and flavor to support a stand alone Battletome.

I am a fan of Kragnos as a model, and as a concept, just not for Destruction. Model design wise, he’s a big centigor. Concept wise, an ancient demigod beastman returning   has more of a hook for me than a last surviving member of a race I’ve never heard of before.

But working with what we have, he needs a faction of his own using design cues from the model. He just doesn’t mesh well with the other Destruction factions.

And agreed on separating the Orruks. The unified Warclans book seems like a leftover from the design philosophy that gave us the original Cities of Sigmar and Legions of Nagash books, consolidating multiple small factions into one place.

Good News Everyone! after lamenting the loss of half the war cry war bands and signing up for the CoS campaign I heard from my local GW Manager (Mike in Deer Grove, Illinois) that the Horns of Hashut may be rolled into an upcoming Chaos Dwarf faction in Fourth Edition.

Is this true? possibly, after all this is only rumor.

GW Managers don’t get told anything like that. Chances are the rumours he’s passing on originated here.

    Really?

I've read a few Warhammer Fantasy books (not much, over 12). Yes, sometimes it becomes a bit weird (a tank exploding in the middle of a medieval city like a Die Hard movie) but appart from a few chapters or characters, I had the feeling that everyone was in the same ground. I know, a human fighting a Shoggoth or even a Great Daemon was a bit too much, but if was written as if it was more about luck and the perfect timing than "hey, I'm angry!! I'm going to kill everyone with one hit even if I'm drunk" feeling that Gitslayer has (and yes, it's exactly how the book starts).

Btw, I'm not used to 40k books. I think that I only finished the Night Lords Trilogy and some Forge world studio books (mperial Armoury and old Horus Heresy's Black Books)

Gotrek has always been like that. He was the Warhammer Worlds least successful Slayer of all time. You also have characters like Gilead Ut Lothain te tuin Tor Anrok demonstrating abilities no other elf is ever mentioned to have.

    Ah maybe! Good spot :D

Depends how many units have it and what a mortal wound is in the new edition (I assume same as now but could be different)

Or is the (9) how many years he’ll be in the game for?

Wait, let me get this right. So The Old World doesn't have savage orcs... and now neither does Age of Sigmar? What the hell are going to do savage orc only players now?

Mine are being boxed up and shelved, in the forelorn hope that one day they get Votann-ed.

BoC were hinted at "going away, but being back in a different way."

Kragnos is the most logical rebirth. Two beastly factions in different grand alliances does not visually translate well. The Adepticon preview/interviews suggested the future of AOS is sprinkled across the Dawnbringers narrative in little crumbs.

Kragnos is searching for his people. I suggest holding onto your armies a while longer. You may get lucky and have a new home for some of the units.

    We'll see.

Unfortunately I get the feeling “ back in a different way” merely refers to them returning to TOW.

That, I guess, is the sole comfort for Beast players willing to carry on with Legends rules - you’ll still have easy access to the miniatures. Bonesplitterz-wise, stopping playing is inevitable for me since I won’t be able to easily add to my army, same for those who focused on Sacrosanct themed forces.

I have the feeling that right now everyone is super sad, angry or worried. Want to quit the game and many other stuff, but we always forget that minis from not so long ago were moved to legends, like the Cursed City ones. They were phased out in less than 2 years also, IIRC. We will forget about this one as well.

Some will, other people will leave the game. I’m sure my interest will bounce back but right now I’ve zero interest in 4th edition.

Think the only reason Cities is safe right now is just that the new range is too small for them to pull more out???? Or they knew the backlash and figured they just kick the can down the road?

Think it is safe to say that Cities will lose all the old stuff. The only real question is when.

Cities Duardin are all but certain to go as soon as a new Battletome arrives. With TOW, I can’t see them bothering to invest in a redesign or a new non-Karadron/Fyreskayer Duardin faction.

Warcry Warbands such as Hashut seems so sudden!! Maybe theyre being folded into Chaos Duardin?

Bonesplitterz is so sad I was really hoping that they would get updated. I also think this means Kruelboyz stay as part of Warclans and dont get their own book.

Beasts of Chaos. Im so sorry @The Red King truly this must be quite a blow to take.

Personally I am quite angry at this decision, that unless they get revamped in a few years seems like stab in the back to players. Sacrificed for TOW.

I swear if BOC recieves updates in TOW after being cut from AOS Ill lose my mind.

I expected my Bonesplitterz to go sooner or later after they shoved all the Orks together. Which is why I’m not effing and jeffing over them.

Beasts I expected to be revamped, new range and background. I’ve never liked their AoS background, so a Cities of Sigmar sequel rethink and redesign would have been interesting.

But to abruptly remove them and treat their transfer to TOW as some sort of consolation doesn’t sit well with me. And along with the other removals raises a lot of uncertainty going forwards.
Skaven, fair enough, the removals are for older kits and some have not aged well and will see new incarnations. But the Sacrosanct losses smacks of being dropped to force the sale of the new Stormcast. And why invest in the upcoming Ruination chamber release, if in two editions they’ll go too in favour of new Stormcast Chamber Flavour X?

This is the exact same mindset the guy who burned his Dark Elf army because they weren’t a TOW core faction must have had.

Not really. The issue with the door burning was never that he was quitting the game, it was burning the models he’d spent so much time and money on rather than selling them.

Its completely understandable to stop playing, just don’t cut your nose off to spite your face.

Ignore him. If I remember he has GW stocks and thinks the only thing we're allowed to want is to buy more figures.

I'm done with GW. If I ever buy anything again it'll be third party and I hope GW goes under. ****** em.

And no offense but to the half of the forum acting like I should be happy they told us instead of mad it's happening. Get some perspective. Just accept that your "buddy" James workshop can be, and in fact is, a ******.

Sorry to say I can’t really blame you.

  14. Well i was unfortunately wrong about Beasts.

I’m not going to lie, today’s article killed my enthusiasm for AoS stone dead. It makes it very hard going forward to justify any purchases, because in two years or less are GW going to decide to Legend them?
What about my Gloomspite? They’re founded on the Night Goblins, can I expect the to be dropped like my Boneplitterz should TOW sell well enough to need the Gobbos back?

Is this also the case of the Anvils of Heldenhammer? I know they are souls from the world that was stolen from Nagash, but were they also heroes in the world that was?

It’s implied at least some of them were, others have their origins in the Mortal Realms.

IMO they would never share a box because the number of models we get for each game is drastically different. if they end up sharing games, there is going to be a box of 10 and a box of 20. That's a no-no with their current capacity issues. But as I said, just my humble opinion.

Unfortunately I have to agree. I’m not clamouring for their disappearance by any means, like I said I’ve got a 3k Cities army made up entirely of Duardin, but I’m bracing for the worst.

And for GW to muck up army selection in AoS too for that matter, after the mess they’ve made of 40K 10th edition.

I don't see any reason to assume this right now. If anything, I expect Dispossessed to stay until they get updated models.

The use of the Ironbreakers and Thunderers kits, along with them declaring Runesmiths and Kings being back (despite never going off sale) is what leads me to that conclusion. The bandaid needs to be ripped off sooner or later, even if it means my 3000 odd points will be Legends at best.

I think we are little bit to obsessed with his likes. His likes were purely hobby related and not rumour related. 😉

I think we will know a lot more in two weeks. Personally I am hoping that the axe is for a TOW dwarf. But seems unlikely as none of the other rumours the last couple of years had anything to do with TOW.

I think it’s a previously unreleased dwarf for TOW too. The design is dwarfish, not duardin and the blade is pretty thick by modern sculpting standards. Either that or it’s Grombindal for WD500.

Okay... The only point I am agree is with indexes. A few books are not avaliable to buy anymore and the number is increasing.

I really hope 4th isn’t changing things to the point we need Indexes. Having rulesets thrown out after two editions of 40K has gotten old really quickly.
