Surely they'd be allowed to have a store copy for display purposes and just blank out the code. I'm guessing they aren't allowed to open just any codex/battletome, but a sacrificial one to show off isn't out of the question. Then again it might depend on footfall in the store. I'm sure they'll have some codex/battletomes to hand (even their own ones) to give people an idea what's inside.

My store used to have all up to date codices/supplements available for players before corona hit at the same time I understand that if you are not allowed to have players playing games inside it is just hundreds of dollars wasted on store copies.

At the same time I know about shops who just sell 40k stuff but you cannot play in them before the online codes you could list in the books and you still can do so with all of those DnD supplements. What can I say. 🤷‍♂️

Given the nature of the times we live in, and the cascading complications businesses like GW face with shipping, supply, and releases, that's the only kind of roadmap they would be likely to hazard.

Even so, it took months for them to release the SCE and Kruelboyz models after AoS 3.0 was announced, and even longer to release the dragon models. In all probability, GW likely just doesn't want to risk committing to anything because the rug has been pulled out from under their plans too frequently in such a short amount of time already

By the looks of things AoS is still struggling to get back on track, whereas 40k seems to have gotten some traction going.

40k has been months behind on codices. Full necron range got released fully in boxes almost a year later in may 2021. Imagine getting a codex for a new unit in july-september and waiting to May.  Just last week or 2 weeks ago they changed their release schedule and delayed new codices later after the battlebox duel set GSC vs Custodes releases.

Both games have some really old rumour engines. There are really no winners here and we shouldn't be angry at people who play the other game system.

Going fully paper amidst world pandemic is just something special, especially if people at financial institutions started talking about supply chains being stretched to the maximum and working in backlog till late 2022 - just type in container ship backlog in google and filter it by month/week, many record numbers of ships waiting to be unloaded everywhere.

On top of that the demand is far greater than supply so good luck hopefully we wont get another Cursed City cancellation scenario.

This is why I don't understand being against roadmaps: people ARE going to buy the models regardless. I'd love to know if Seraphon are getting a new wave or a range refresh. That might make me wait to expand my Stormcast out more, but if I don't end up liking the Seraphon direction? I'm now going to buy other kits that I was waiting on. If I splurge on all the new Stormcast yet end up liking new Seraphon? I no longer have the hobby budget so I'm not buying them anyway...

Big brain time - all these 40k leaks are just somebody from GW leaking it on purpose and then gauging the sale numbers.

You're right when you say allegedly. If they didnt care about playtesters feedback why have playtesters at all?

If the second wave of LRL got spoiled I can't see how that would have effected sales of the 1st wave.

I still maintain that sales are driven by the look of models and not the rules. While there is lot of talk about the current meta and what's hot and not I still think meta chasers are the minority.

Regarding the advent calendar, I'm excited to see a eldar revamp, I'm sure there are going to be some stunning redesigns.

I wonder if Jes Goodwin is still involved, if I remember correctly he doesn't use CAD.

I think they have a new paid playtesting/full time team for a few months now for the 40k.

At the same time they don't send all rules to all playtesters. They in fact send out more rules than will end up in the final product and that can be manipulated. Tabletoptitans said the GK rules they were testing in the beginning mid 2020 were different than the new codex we got in 2021. Other youtube playtesters said a similar thing that fun rules from Spacewolves aren't in the codex etc. That means the designers can just say ah these people don't know/they don't see our final vision/product and just ignore the feedback that way or get a positive feedback about the rules that don't even end up in the codex. It is a mess honestly.

I can't imagine whoever is leaking the stuff will be a playtester for longer.

I can't say I get why someone would break the trust given to get imaginary fame and applause from anonymous geeks.

I'm glad we don't have such leaks for AoS.

I mean GW allegedly doesn't/didn't care about playtesting feedback, cut out many fun rules delivered half baked product, designers keep ignoring the feedback etc.  I can understand the frustration and I am glad for a roadmap instead of being arbitrarily held in fear of missing out limbo that is AoS and 40k without the leaks.

Imagine if LRL second wave got spoiled so many people would save money and make better decision for themselves.

Furthermore I know which set will be released next year in September 2022 for MtG and I am really hyped for The Brothers' War.

True it from a leaked playtester copy for the Eldar codex and subject to change by GW before the final print but at least this one has a related rumor engine that makes it more likely

and we know they have used playtesting in the past  to find out who is leaking their stuff by distributing different playtesting versions. At the same time the leaks these past weeks diverged only in some small details here and there so who knows if they are just lying but have a good guess or GW is playing the 5D underwater chess game.

Warp spiders, jet bikes, Guardians, rangers, new avatar, Asurmen, vyper, new Corsairs were in all major leaks so far.

Swooping hawks and their PL, Striking scorpions and their PL in some of those

Dire avengers, Fire Drakes, Specters, Reapers in none.

    We will see.

A relevant rumor as of right now is that there will be an Avatar of Khaine and it is  a huge model.

unsure if it get added to DoK right away though

there are so many eldar rumours. My tinfoil hat theory is that GW has at least 3D designed/sculpted and prototyped the whole range overhaul but we will get one part now and the rest of it later kinda like the LRL release schedule.

Eldar 200% deserve a full range refresh, but I gotta say if after all the YEAR OF THE BEAST 3.0 HYPE that we aren't a part of the Advent Calendar (or get under a week's worth) then like... why did they release 3.0 this summer? It's just a really weird spot IMO.

And if "Year of the Beast" is the theme for the entire time 3.0 is current then they should've called it "Era of the Beast" or something.

they released the 9th eddition for 40k in summer 2020 and 2021 was the year of AoS too.

Necrons are supposed to be these big baddies of the new eddition and they havent gotten anything new revealed for more than a year now. It's just GW doing GW things.

    Bro come on

I have been waiting for like 20 years for a eldar refresh, dont kill this little spark of hope

the guy who spoiled BTs and other stuff correctly said eldar are getting a big but incomplete range update so you are getting one no matter what.

My guess is that it's the Vampire for Aeronautica.  The highlights on the exhaust are too chunky for it to be a 28mm model (unless it's on something like a jet pack) and we're missing a transport from the AI line of Eldar planes.

not surprised to see a bad paintjob for elves/40k though. Many 40k paintjobs are worse than AoS paintjobs especially lately. Also the yesterdays rumour engine had a giant highlight on top of the top knot band.

Well seeing as how the Imperium failed to stop them being almost entirely gobbled up by the Nids I can see a re-emergemce of angry Squats whose new grudges against both the Imps and Nids makes the their old grudges against the Orks and Eldar look like a play date.

I would like them to be more open to cooperation with knifeea eldars "Hey Eldrad/Yvraine, can we get a contract to mine this maiden world of yours? You see it is directly in the path of Tyranids/CSM/Imperium, give us one sun cycle and we will be finished and then can blow up the whole thing"

Also Tau and squats would be an interesting duo.

True, old ones are still relevant to aos. But the combo of that + the rest of the text + all the eldar leaks going on + the border, Id say its looking like theres a good chance you'll be dissapointed. We might get some AoS stuff on the best of cases but it looks like the bulk of rumors are going to be eldar at least.

most rumours from the last year were AoS related and then AoS had a bigger year in terms of releases than 40k seems to be just based on their release schedule not some malicious intent.

I am in support of squats because in a silly sci-fi universe with space elves, orcs and goblins it feels more out of place not to have space dwarves. How the writers and creators didn't just say that Imperial Knights were piloted by admech squats and only occasionally release pilot figures for special events is way beyond me though. It was the perfect way for us to have our cake and eat it too.

I am guessing that today we will get a scroll, book, icon, or weapon that could easily fit both systems. But that I will immediately jump to conclusions and assume it is Kurnothi, Umbraneth, Chorfs or Silent People...

I also feel that space dwarves are just almost like a blank slate. Space elves are in many many scifi settings but dwarves are rare and often times third grade faction when it comes too scifi.

So far we know they have ships and affinity for engineering and guns but those that we have "seen" in novels and BSF are not part of the main civilization so their technology could be much much better than some scraps that we see. Really hyped but I hope they won't be purely imperium aligned.

None they are happy with points, we are pointed so high because we are pointed  for 6th edition.

Tinfoil hat but LRL and Soulblight battleforces are around 800ish points and Slaanesh and OBR are around 1k.

Yes  i saw a vid in youtuve with wrongs numbers it seems.

Vampires are 220 and slanesh 247. So it isnt so huge gap.

Btw how gonna be worse moneybwise if slanesh get reduction innpoints? The moneybis the same and gonna be the best box of all money wise allways

I dont understand you. Dollars and euros are different things.

also of you cannot understand a simple concept of price/points then I won’t waste my time

How all battleforce cost 160€???? Id vampires are 220€ in minis and slanesh almost 300€. Then vampires have 25% disccount only and slanesh almost 50%??

    This isnt fair lol

290 Dollars for Soulblight minis and  315 for Slaanesh. If slaanesh gets point reduction in a month it might be a worse box money wise, model wise, point wise lol...

Tbh it would suck to see IJ nerfed so hard, its literally the only melee faction that can stand ground (SoB dosnt count since it plays another game) vs this heavy shooting/magic meta

You have lists without gore gruntas going 4-1 too. Even if they legended pigs IJ  would be a really good army.

  18. 20 minutes ago, Beliman said:

I was talking about +170p Mawcrusha (that @Nezzhil corrected to be +70).

how would a list look like anyway post this nerf?

    1x Mawcrusha  550
    5x3 Pigs 5 x 180 - 900
    2x Warchanter 2 x 115 - 230
    1x Weirdnob 90

    1795

add one more unit of pigs and you are at 1975 in a good position for the triumph.

I just fear these nerfs wont make ironjawz more diverse in a competitive meta you just cut the fat.

    Sentiend Roach Swarms (this week)?

No new army in 2022 for AoS?  Fake

How legit previous rumors could be about OBR stuff ? Are we talking about 2022 release ? I have also read earlier about chariot and mortek Liege on foot but I feel like it was just wishful thinking

I wish we got a roadmap or at least some new lore development this way it is hard to guess.

no idea what will be OBR doing without Nagash (for a while of course) how they get their new troops lore wise.

I have no idea where are the united dwarves or malerion (shadow elves are at least getting a warband)
