U can  sell the terrain and cards/extras pretty easy. Lots of people are just after that and sell the models.

It depends, if everybody wants to sell that part of the box is going to be pretty hard to sell, and some people don't want to lose time selling it in second market, like me.

I was going to preorder it, like I have been doing since beginning, now I think I'm fine just waiting for a future magazine with the stormcast part or waiting for a battleforce.

I've been told that it's pre-order on the 15th and the release on the 29th. Time will tell, I guess ;)

Could make sense. We know almost everything about the new edition but terrain and command models in a unit, if they use the next week for that, and start with the faction focus the 13 of May, those faction focus end just the 15 of June.

I am still thinking they are using the wrong words and they mean  the starter box.

    I'm pretty worried about it.

If they are talking about the starter box, with so many goodies, that means the price will be to the moon or the box will come pretty light on minis (and mybe that's why they are taking so long to show them)

Modders have already had to jump in 2 times in 2 pages, you can tell there is a drought of leaks

All our leakers are missing and the cadence of articles from gw is terrible, so people just start random discussions.

why wouldn't they do it at the same time as bonesplitterz/BoC/Gitz line cuts.

They are retiring old models in 40k wich each book release, so is not impossible to get more and more cutoffs throught the edition or revamping stuff to send old models to old world.

Third edition AOS seemed to focus on the cleaning up/updating of old kits. I think they want to solidify existing armies before adding new ones. From Broken Realms to Launch of 4th we have seen old resin kits like Belakor and Kroak get updated to Freeguild, Seraphon and now Skaven. I think the purge will continue through 4th. Beasts, Bonsesplittaz, Skaven and Ogres were the last ones standing that featured outdated sculpts or resin. BOC and BS were evicted, Skaven is getting updated now, which leaves Ogres. I would be very surprised if they did not get a revamp at some point in the next three years. Unless they are the being saved for 5th launch.

    Resin Kits Left

    Nurgle:(2)  Festus, Epidemius

    Tzeentch:(2) Blue Scribe, Fluxmaster

    Slaanesh:(1) Viceleader

Khorne:(2) Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut, Skullmaster,

Ogres:(6) Maneaters, Butcher, Yhetees, Sabers, Slaughtermaster, Firebelly,

This list doesn't include just old models in general whose quality does not match that of the majority of the game. A trend of GW is to replace a kit if there is a third party that is selling a better/newer version of a kit that they sell.

Epidemius, scribes, fluxmaster and viceleader got a sneaky retire from the web without being in the infamous article, so we have resin kits available just for nurgle, khorne and ogors.

If faction tactics go away then battle tactics lose their value as a balancing lever, which is the only thing I currently like about them.  😛

Well, they had 3 years to try to balance faction tactics and I'm still waiting for the results.

Spurious perhaps, but the web shop I typically buy from has added years to certain Stormcast products, like Judicators and Knight-Heraldors. Never mind that the dates aren't accurate (I think), it might still suggest an update for those models.

Interestingly, neither Knight-Azyros nor Retributors have received such a labeling.

WTF Stormcast had two different heraldors? xD

I also find the Blood Sisters Crystal touch a bit strange. It basically means that aelves, humans will always strike last as they probably have 1 or 2 wounds. But bigger and slower things will be less bothered by it. Which imo should be more easy to hit than nimble Aelves.

I think is easier to turn glass a humble human than a big gargant.

If "Health now per unit, not per model." then we can forget about putting heroes in the unit, isn't it?

Yep, I think so. I wanted to see thar style in AoS, but is good to have proper mechanics and not to be just 40k in a fantasy setting

  11. What a masterpiece of an article.

Retreat with a cost in mortal wounds.

    Charging visible units.

    Mystic shield gone.

    Can't shoot in melee.

Health now per unit, not per model.

    Unit roles in the book…

    Amazing rules, amazing edition

    Malerion is the way.

Sometimes I try to convince myself that no, Malerion will come with a standalone army, but then I think about DoK, that is one of the most expensive armies to collect right now because you need that big fantasy direct sale piece and witch elves are expensive af, and any discount box (from vs against nh to spearhead, krethusa's box or battleforce) have 0 to negative value thanks to our beloved warlocks that nobody cares about.

But if you make a big refresh, then suddenly your one-for-seven-warcrolls box turns into 3-7 separate boxes, so the price goes even higher.

Tbh every faction from first edition is a big mess.

Yep. I am learning a lot doing this Excel. I was not expecting that DoK would be in even worst shape than FS, IDK or KO, as they tend to be the ones with more voices.

That's why I allways say that something has to change in that faction. I don't know if merging with someone (IDK?) or releasing Malerion with them, but DoK needs a very aggressive overhaul.

The question for me is. Refresh over new units? I would say new units 200%.

    image.png.5d2ec8fed9c7bce16ed320b9c3a0297d.png

It is a WIP still, but to get a rough idea it is enough. You cannot put resources to refresh a kit from a range with so little kits unless there's a proper big refresh.

Would that happen that big refresh for FS when there's other armies in more need? I doubt it. So the answer for me is the expansion of the range and 0 refreshes.

Dok is even funnier if you analyze the content of those kits.

The faction has 20 warscrolls, (without uw stuff that we know is leaving aos soon and the endless/invocation pack) and one of those is from warcry.

With the 19 AoS focused warscrolls, we have 7 that come in the same box that is coming from fantasy. Hag, Slaughter, Avatar, Medusa and the three altars. That's more than the third part of the army. You can add witch aelves and the favourite of nobody warlocks to a total of 10 from 19, more than half the playable units are coming from fantasy, just the half if you want to add warcry.
