Aiming to put up perfected list soon!
Contemplating Shadowstalkers as allies, what do people think?
-
Poor old not-High Elves not-Lumineth yeah.
possibly could be pepped up by the rematerialisation to save their smoky bacon of a certain once and future Phoenix King...?!

This entry on Double Misfire’s blog is an invaluable proxying guide for adjusting your collection to Cities!
EDIT: your witches present, to me, the most interesting dilemma!
Allowed and hard but not impossible to justify as allies - anti Morathi diehard Khaine traditionalists? but not very effective;
OR your whole force could become an unusually High Elf looking Har Kuron army!?

Since we have been seeing a lot of maps for TOW up to now:
Do you think maps will play a bigger role in that game (maybe through some kind of territory control element), or are maps just the easiest type of art asset to produce and show off early?
Would be cool if signalled lots of narrative campaign stuff (but I doubt it)

Very good points but don’t expect Sigmar, Teclis, Tyrion or even Malerion to agree!!

Sure, freeguild swordsmen and similar may crossover easily, however say goodbye to the entire collegiate arcane and potentially many gunpowder based units, depending on when exactly around 2200 the game will be based.
Any way, we are way off and for now AoS seems more interesting and less written in stone, new races can pop over from anywhere, who knows, maybe Saturday we will see a glimpse of 2021 new armies!
Mordheim (1999) shows handguns, pistols and the odd small cannon in action

Don't know if it's been mentioned here but in White Dwarf 459, on page 23, it has a small paragraph featuring Roilon Ven Brecht, one of Neferata’s devoted courtiers. It's unlikely we will see this specific Ven Brecht as it implies they where eaten by the Skitterstrand known as Boss Seven-Eyez, but this may indicated that if we see the continuation of Keiser Ven Brecht's story in BR, Neferata could be a key figure.
Great catch!
and Overread above - I’m maxed out on reacting but that was an epic Morathi essay
-
But the worship of the D o K wouldn’t go to Khorne! That sounds like confusion with ancient outdated fantasy witch aelf stuff
-
There’s also one sorceress in partic mentioned as Drusa Kraeth’s rival so decent justification for anti Morathi Darklings too, with serpentis allies. And shadowblades (your dark riders) theoretically should all answer to Sigmar (definitelynotmalerionyeahright).

Yeah what is this heresy about Khaine worship going to Khorne no no no. The chaos gods slew him they didn’t usurp him, that niche was left to Morathi

I think she's certainly different and more powerful; however we've yet to know if its full god status. Also technically her faction still prays to Khorne not to Morathi...
Call the Order of Azyr at once!!!

More deeply random and obsessive Bret thoughts -
Louen Orc Slayer is of the House of Bastonne, descended from Gilles le Breton and his son Louis the Rash, first crowned king of Bretonnia (Altho some newer stuff may make Gilles king too, I forget) and ancestor of Duke Bohemond Beastslayer of Bastonne in End Times setting we all know.
Note the names. Louis the Rash - Louen Orc Slayer - Louen Leoncoeur. I currently infer from this that Bretonnia actually only had two strictly hereditary royal dynasties, the Bastonnes and the Couronnes, and that the latter inherited through the female line (hence recurrence of family forename Louen). This further contextualises and explains at least three attempts at usurpation by the proud, bitter rulers of Mousillon (Merovech, Maldred, Mallobaude).
Also, Jules the Just hasn’t done his honourable jousting reforms yet so Bret nobles are all psychos who duel and kill each other for fun. The Border Princes have been colonised by Bret crusaders and there are loads of bloodthirsty land hungry knights errant spoiling for trouble.

Yes, though to all appearances it ‘all went wrong’ much later! TOW’s period in established background leads to victory against chaos by the High Elves and Magnus, and a much more glorious period for the Empire...
-
I’m interested to note a few other things -
1 there are Wood Elves in Arden!
2 Mordheim is post comet but pre purging, maximum fun time
3 Mousillon is post Merovech but pre Maldred - so decadent but outwardly loyal

Nice, thanks!
Argh slight retraction - double checked and Vlad is dead and Mannfred ‘killed’ at Hel Fenn. Lots of minor von Cs hanging in there tho surely

Sylviania would indeed be von Carstein at this time!

Does everyone think a unit of 5 is useless, then? I have 5 as flankers for Misthavn at moment...
-
Anvilgard’s loyal forces, including Corsairs, are fighting on in a jungle guerilla campaign against Morathi, an awesome Broken Realms short story revealed. You can definitely keep to Anvilgard rules.
personally I’m going Misthavn!!

-
Stick with Anvilgard if you want to stay with these and more like them.
Try Misthavn to mix with more Darkling infantry.
Try Har Kuron to mix with Khainites!

Mage - great narrative report (ye gods I need more of these)! Sigwarus - great ‘Cathellar’!

It’s so nice to read (pretty good) writing on the IDK and their potentially fascinating lore rather than tactical agonising about whether or not they have too many eels or whatever!!!

Hydra and Kharibdyss especially easy to combine w DoK now mechanically at least!

I’m with stratigo here - I think a validish point of comparison would be the grotesque GoT scene where Ramsay Snow pretty much forces a terrified and confused Theon to get excited by prostitutes as a prelude to castrating him.
