Big F for all my Matched Play friends. I guess it was too much to expect an update to that rule so soon.
But to look at things on a slightly more positive note, how would you proxy them?
Torgillius and Gorslav are obvious Necromancers and Halgrim works fine as a Wight King.
If the Vargskyr is big enough and you have the right base, then you might be able to get away with using it as a Vengorian Lord, or if you stick two of the Blood-Born on then it could work as Radukar the Beast, with the third being a generic Vampire Lord.
That just leaves the Kosargi without a clear proxy. X-Tra thicc Wight Kings?
Honestly I wish I could find a good way to use the Blood-borne as proxies somehow.

On a mostly unrelated note: whichever arm you don't end up using with Annika would probably work as a replacement for that Necromunda model people were talking about using as a Vampire Lord.
Can anyone tell if those "cancelled Cursed City expansions" models are ETB kits? That should give a pretty definitive answer as whether they are or not.
They aren't, in fact, easy to build. They're just vyrkos and thus have relations to Radukar and Ulfenkarn. I don't think they were ever meant to be part of expansions

Omg how did you make those? They're gorgeous!

Hopefully the new Path of Glory rules in 3.0 will open up more things for stuff like the Anvil of A/B. IMO Crusade is one of the best ways to play 40k, so having similar rules in AoS can only be a win in my book

Sam (the AoS Labs guy) mentioned in his video that in 3.0 there'd be rules to try and prevent spamming units. A hard cap on using the same type of units, and some kind of system that limits unit size depending on how large other units are.
This could change list building for the game for the better, but some factions are gonna be real different after this kind of change

Core battalions may change quite a lot by themselves, honestly, whether or not the warscroll battalions are staying. Especially if they're as generic as "Hero + x Battleline"

When abouts do we get pricing leaks for pre orders?
Generally they start making their way out on Mondays when stores start getting them

Honestly if you have old skeletons, the new skellies could be Grave Guard, although a bit weird to run them with great blades I guess

Also, it hasn't been mentioned in this thread I think but the Unquiet Dead allegiance ability lets you set up summonable units on objectives turn 1 >.>

For sure, completely agree. I think they could be fun to run and I'll try them out
On that note, you guys up for helping me figure out the faction to go with?
Units I like:
Blood Knights
Vengorian Lords
Vampire Lords
Vargheists
Fell Bats
Grave Guard
Terrorgheists
I am not a fan of one-dimensional armies so I don't like to run just Blood Knights or just monsters. Going by that, I probably won't get most use out of Avengorii (sadly), Legion of Blood doesn't interest me much either. Legion of Night likewise seems a bit meh.
Between Kastellai and Vyrkos, which one do you think benefits the above units most?Kastelai could be a cool all-vamp army with a mix of Varcheists and Blood knights with general heroes, since everything is a vampire they get bonuses on their kills!

You can have
2x Vengorians
1x Vhrodai
3x Blood Knights
1x Vargheists
Leaves you with 130 pts left
Just chuck annika or kritza in there for annoying killy heroes that won't go away XD?

Wish we could see the skeleton warscroll now, Zombies seem deece, but what about the skellies now?
-
Maybe fell bats are so big now because they're more murderous? One can only hope >.>

Really hoping we some Vengorian lord stats today myself, really hoping either they or Lauka Vai are good

What makes you think they can't charge again? As far as I can tell, this ability all but guarantees that they'll be charging on every one of your turns even if your opponent tries to tie them up with chaff.
No, way more of this please. We don't need meaningless weapon choices where one is clearly superior, which only results in people being able to assemble their models "wrong". Just make every unit's weapons generic like this so the unit does what it's supposed to and we can build them in whatever way looks cool.
God, this. It's already a paint to assemble and play with/against KO with their million weapon options.

Honestly this isn't 'just' a retreat and charge. They have 10 move, these peeps can glide across the battlefield and absolutely punish positioning or screening with the wrong units.

Does that mean they can move across an enemy unit they are already in combat with then charge them again?
Yeah, or move across an enemy unit to charge one behind them

Holy. ******. Kastelai is definitely fighting with Avengorii for me, but even without the Kastelai stuff Blood Knights are FIIIIIIRE

We'll get a lot of the warscrolls this weekend I think when things go up for preorder, and a lot of places get the book early so we'll know the book in and out by Sunday, be patient

Yeah, it's a bad sign whenever you see those words.
Looking back, though, I was very nervous going into Legions of Nagash, because all the earliest details we had for them were also pretty negative. No more summoning spells, no more healing banners, etc etc. Then we got the bigger picture and everything was cool.
So I'm certainly not panicking or anything. But yeah, my earlier fears of 'bin writer' are creeping back.
I'd like to point out that almost EVERY tome in 2.0 after Soul Wars has Wholly within, including the new Lumineth and DoK books. It's a change in the style of the game, not the bin writer

i feel some doubt. If the vengorian lords are an avengorii thing, then is it ok for me to use them as heroes in a kastelai dinasty?
Might be that they can be taken in any dynasty but Lauka Vai is dynasty locked?

Is the only not-direct order way to get dragons and terrorgheists now the FEC start collecting? Mortarchs and the Coven Throne are also now just harder to get without those start collectings

If it's anything like Indomitus the core book will be in the Limited box with a special cover, while the bigger core box will have the normal rule book
