  1. So it's from the models head?......what a weird rule. How would our scraplaunchers decide which of the 8 heads (rhinox included) to use😄 I suppose a few gentlemen's rules have to apply with this topic but at least I know now
  2. Cheers mate, yeah I looked into LOS when i first started AOS and was well confused.....better get myself a laser pen then 🤔
  3. Awesome, so dose that apply even if your own troops are in the way? And what do you measure off.....the base of the model making the shot? Or anywhere on the model?.....as in is the hight of the model relevant?
  4. Bit of a general question but I'm sure you guys will know the answer. With regards to line of sight, can you shoot through the gaps in between models to target units behind them? So, for example I played against bonereapers last night and wanted to snipe there harvester who was behind a 30 man unit of mortek guard. The mortek where conger lining across the board to hold the objective but there where 1" gaps between the models and I wasnt sure if I could shoot through those gaps with my iron blasters to take out there harvester.
  5. So my army consists of lots of ogors on 40mm bases and I find that the tyrants ability is best used on ironguts. What I sometimes do is put 3 units of ironguts down (1 x 8, 2 x 4, 2 x 4), a unit of leadbelchers (1 × 4) and a unit of gluttons (1 × 6)...what tends to happen is one glutton or a leadbelcher flees if I'm playing aggressively and that let's me use 3 lots of "down to the iron guts" which my opponents always forget I have.
  6. With that ambushing advice in mind what do you make of gorges? I quite like the idea of using them but hate the models ( kit bashing ideas anyone?)
  7. Some decent choices there mate, I suppose the only reason you'd want to take a butcher over a slaughtermaster is for the maw......but I've never been lucky with it to be honest ( best I ever did was kill 2 kurnoth hunters for 10 wounds) and I've been playing aos since it came out. Tyrants are mint now we have an update....but I always find myself giving him the fateseeker big name (3+ save) as he's usually sniped in my battles. I suppose if you want to go gnoblar heavy hes an absolute must have in the army. Gluttons are quality but only in a 12 block.....the discount you get from 9 to 12 is very good. I've been very impressed with leadbelchers....they are my objective holders as they pepper the enemy with d6 shots a piece before still hitting really hard in combat (actually prefer the -1 rend of the leadbelcher over the extra attack of a glutton). Iron guts are well hard, you need them with so much rend out there now. I use 1 unit of 4 and find that's enough to get the job done. Frostlord on stonehorn is unreal mate, always wipes the floor with most of my opponents but you gotta lose a lot of good objective holders in your list to field one. Never used a hunter or sabers before, wasnt a fan of the models but I have heard good things about them from tournament players
  8. Well to be fair I do have lots of units of ogors (gluttons, ironguts and leadbelchers) in my lists. Always use a tyrant as general, mostly meatfist mawtribe (although I'm thinking meatfist isnt that great compared to bloodgullet or underguts). Not really focused too much on BCR however I do use a huskard on stonehorn and recently got hrothgorn. I like the idea of a goremand battalion.....I'm guessing you use that in conjunction with a bloodgullet mawtribe?
  9. Incidentally whilst on the subject of butchers and slaughtermasters, what's the general opinion on which is better? They're both 140pts after all. Dose base size and rend outweigh the great cauldron ability?
  10. Cheers for the idea mate, didnt even consider using objects that dont come off a spru 😄 Dose anyone know how big skrags pot is? Also would need a couple of chains that connect to his back once the butcher is slotted into the base. (Mawpot has loads but they all get used on the model so none spare)
  11. Decided I wasnt a big fan of both the butcher and Skrag models so wanted to kit bash my own. Happy with both although was wondering if anyone has any advice on a cauldron for the slaughtermaster? (the one with the stump blade will be the slaughtermaster, but just put him on a 50mm base so I can still use him as a butcher if desired)
  12. Nice kit bash there, is that a forge world monster you've used as the stonehorn? Paint jobs good too 👍
  13. Cheers mate. Will consider the shooting approach and if it comes to combat leadbelchers are pretty hard anyway
  14. Cheers for the advice guys, been proper sulking over versing bonereapers, ha (my brother in law battles me every week with them and wins every time). Might have to build an underguts list?.....🤔
  15. Yeah, I used big 12 blocks of gluttons with double weapons against OBR and I only took down 1 mortek guard out of 10! So I think MW is the way to go against armies like that. I was thinking lots of small units of gluttons with iron fists to use as screens?
  16. Quick question (and I know this has been discussed but would like confirmation)......if your gluttons are equipped with iron fists and are struck by a -2 rend attack, can you still roll your saves? (even though its impossible to actually save and prevent losing wounds) I go up against ossiarch bonereapers a lot and they dish out loads of high rend attacks....was hoping to roll a ton of 6s before small 3 man blocks of gluttons go down.
  17. Hrothgorn is good if you like being strategic and throwing your opponents off guard (plus he looks flippin awesome), but if you like charging your ogors into battle shouting "its clobberin time!" I would say spend the 160pts on 4 leadbelchers.
  18. I have used them in two battles recently. First was against a graywater fastness army and hrothgorn was awesome.....ambushed the runelord then made their way over to the cogsmith, took him out then held the objective. Second battle was against bonereapers......hrothgorn was flattened by katakros but I spaced the gnoblars out 12" away to gain the objective so kinda sacrificed him in that one. The hidden trap killed 3 mortek guard too. He is pretty good for 160pts. Great for ambushing wizards, the frost saber is useful for grasp of the everwinter if he survives till next hero phase. Bit disappointed with the harpoon trap launcher....it needs a minus 1 rend to be fair.
