  1.  "The bog-grot tribes that had harassed their stockades were driven back by crackling war machines, the swamp waters were drained in days and the land was baked into hardened clay. Walls and towers increased in size as the region's resources were plundered to build the fast growth of the city".

    Pg 54 Core Rulebook

Maybe this is the new breed...Driven out of the swamps from humans building cities of order?

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else

  3. Just with these small changes I woud be ecstatic

Units starting a normal move within
3"(6") of an enemy unit can either
remain stationary (charge) or retreat. If a unit
retreats, it can move within 3" of an
enemy, but must end the move more
than 3" from all enemy units. Models
in a unit that retreats can’t shoot or
charge later in the same turn.

A unit can shoot when it is within
3"(6") of the enemy, but if it does so it
can only target enemy units that
are within 3" (6") of it with its shooting
attacks. A unit can shoot at an enemy
unit that is within 3" of another
    friendly unit without penalty.

Sooooo ... Warhammer Fantasy Battle then?

    ;)

    Well.......actually....No

I am not saying bring back wheeling, reforming, static CR, psychology rules, scroll caddies, miscasts bound spells etc and generally mechanics that feel good but actually slow the game.

But some things could be implemented to make the game more tactical and less gamey...

AOS game speed is great dont get me wrong but phases should start filling up.

I, on the other hand, want to see more ways to remove the influence of dice. Make more things auto.

Nothing stinks quite like coming up with a plan, executing it perfectly, and saying "I just need two of these 10 dice to roll anything but ones and I'll win" only to roll 10 see and see 10 ones.

Games like Super Fantasy Brawl and Bloodborne manage to be great without dice, and they make me really feel the pain of dice luck in GW games.

I think that they are of the mindset that guessing ranges, and having modifiers tables slow the game...so they add dice to the roll to manipulate the propabilities which some times unfortunately has catastrophic consequences.

I think if some of the "old" things  made a comeback they would help the game a bit

    Running with no dice (marching)

    Marchblocking

    Charging without dice

    Charging Reactions

shooting modifiers for attacks (shooting through screening units, shooting Long Distance, Shooting in Close combat)...

  6. I wish we could just merge the shooting phase in the combat phase.

Hero phase, movement, charge, combat, battleshock. So when in combat phase you can decide whether to use your ranged or your melee weapons.

    This would fix double turn.

It would minimize down time (because the I go you go would also include ranged combat too).

    Retreating would start making sense

  7. So as far as units are concerned I think we will get these pretty little things back

    Vampire Lord (obviously)

    Necromancers

    Coven Throne

    Skeletons

    Black Knights

    Zombies

    Dire Wolves

    Bat Swarm

    Blood Dragon Knights

    Vargheists

Everything is actually there and apart from the zombies and the bats all other things dont show their age...

Maybe its time to transfer those 120 skellies to round bases after all....

Lets not forget the most important thing about the new vampire; they have hair and full armour! Thank Nagash that Manfreds chrome dome muscle shirt men haven’t arrived, so happy with this. Abhorash and plastic blood knights and take my money now!

The females were always with hair and less feral looking...I would wait to see a male vampire before saying gj GW

  9. Silent People or Vampires...or both

    Lost Bloodlines of Warhammer Fantasy

"The Mahtmasi are a lost bloodline created by Maatmeses, the Vizier and Grand Chancellor of Lahmia. Maatmeses was a corpulent, corrupt, hedonist who would help himself to the Queen Neferata's treasury. He was eventually found out before the fall of Lahmia and escaped to the desert where he knew he wouldn't be pursued. In the desert his fat, and flesh were eaten alive by carrion swarms. He eventually found tribes of warrior in Araby which he converted to his servants, and a few to his children. "Mahtamasi" means children of death. They are insect-like in both appearance and behavior. They cooperate in tribe like units to fulfill the desires of Maatmeses. They enjoy working as mercenaries. And overall just enjoy killing the living and devouring them. They are insane. And they feed like the Strigoi. They are great assassins and wear can wear face-scarfs and hoods to pass as humans."
