  1. This is a thematic list, but still pretty badass IMHO. It's got 3x To Hit debuffs to declaw their big assault units a bit, and kills their centrepiece minis.

    Mortal Realm: Ulgu
    Lord-Arcanum (180)
    - General
    - Trait: Dauntless Hunters
    - Artefact: Godbeast Plate
    - Spell: Azyrite Halo
    Lord-Celestant (100)
    - Artefact: Sword of Judgement
    Lord-Ordinator (140)
    Lord-Relictor (100)
    - Prayer: Translocation
    20 x Sequitors (400)
    - Tempest Blades and Soulshields
    - 9x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Sequitors (120)
    - Tempest Blades and Soulshields
    - 3x Stormsmite Greatmaces
    5 x Liberators (100)
    - Warblade & Shield
    - 1x Grandblades
    5 x Evocators (200)

What is our current - UNBUFFED - Unit deleter?

UNBUFFED meaning a unit engaging without a Priest prayer,  without Command Abilty, without Battalion ability etc.

What unit are we putting on the table that can square up with nearly every other unit in the game and consistently win combats, and Delete other units?

We've never had a unit like this IMHO. The army has pretty much always worked along the lines of networks of buffs, since Day 1.

How would you split it up further? I can't see daemons being turned into multiple sub factions but maybe mortals.

You could probably split them along the lines of "armoured/warrior" vs "non-armoured/tribal"

Reavers, priests, wrathmongers etc one side and bloodwarriors, skull crushers, lords of khorne etc on the other.

Nah, I mean like individual cults, philosophies or houses, like Kharadron and Daughters have. Sub-factions that have some character.

  4. Is it greedy to hope for interesting sub-factions? I think I'm going to be a bit disappointed if the sub-factions are just Mortals, Daemons, Mixed. I haven't read all the other armies' tomes, but they all seem to have cool thematic ones with a bit of fluff. That's what I want too eh.

Allied High Elf Archmage (100 points)

He has a handy little +1 to unbind too. I think he could be cool in a Staunch + Castellant / "impregnable testudo" type list, but I wonder how the maths of Elemental Shield saves compares with just having 100pts more guys running around...

100% agree on the bloodsecrator. The portal should be a terrain piece, as is the norm these days. Free the banner model to do something else

I dig this. I really hope they do it. And make the Bloodsecrator Dmg2, then send him into the fray, where all servants of Khorne should be.   ;-)

IMO there are better spells that can use a little push, such as purple sun or gemenids, but the idea is there and it sounds cool
Also I think his CA is most usefull with spells that can turn around and bite you, not a harmless Pendulum

Eh? Purple Sun is 8 to cast, procs on 6+ per model, and is 100pts. I think that's almost the worst possible spell for Stormcast wizards...

Also, how do you figure the Pendulum is "harmless"? If you can tag 4 units with it (eg: passing over 2 and landing near 2), that's 4d6 mortals straight up without rolls.

I'm really confused by your thinking here. Sorry if I'm missing something.

Geminids is a great spell, but I think the combo is made more awkward and situational by the Nids' need to finish near each other, and the Lord Arcanum only being able to move one.

To be honest, everyone saw this change coming ahead. When old and new armies have 6+ abilities coming to unmodified 6 and you know a box with khorne deamons is coming, it was 99% sure it would hit the bloodletters too, ESPECIALLY since they are one of the main, if not THE main reason of this change

Yet Malign Sorcery was published with a bunch of 6+ abilities in it. I don't think anyone confidently predicted the precise scope and scale of this particular shift (except in hindsight of course). We certainly spoke about it regarding Bloodletters, but my main point was really the comedy of the timing for me (ie: one month before the world's largest tourney).

  9. I appreciate that the Lord-Arcanum on foot's command is pretty pants, and that people generally use him as a budget general for a Stormhost, but has anyone tried running him tight behind the front lines with Aethervoid Pendulum + command?

The spell is short range, 6+ to cast, 8+1d6 move (assuming Lord-Arcanum on foot in vanilla SCE). To my mind, there's huge MW potential if you can tag multiple units with it...

I guess the main challenges are the totally linear movement and landing the template after moving.

Any successes with this, or other observations?

Imagine if you just bought 90+ bloodletters and then wrath and rapture came out.

lol I was partway through painting my Cancon army with 60 of 'em when W&R came out. My whole army strategy was nuked.

I'm optimistic for a points reduction though, perhaps foolishly.

Honeslty my best advice on a Daemon Battalion at this moment would be Blood Hunt.

I've written up a list with 5 x Crushers and 3 x Hounds plus WoK and buffers, and I'm itching to test it out, but it's gonna be a weird and unfamiliar way for me to play Khorne, ie: without masses of bodies to drown the enemy.

I also don't think DoK will worry about it much at all, but we can't spend our lives thinking about them in their current state can we... ;-)

The relictor is appropriately costed now, he’s still be worth 120 to be fair

I agree. Although, I'd like a useful 80pt buffing character purely on the basis of list-writing maths haha. Too often I find myself with an awkward 80 left over and no appetite for a little Castigators throwaway or investment in Endless Spells for my lone wizard char.

I had the pleasure of returning a Liberators unit that had fallen against a Skaven Hell Pit Abomination! They jumped back up and killed that sucker, and it didn't come back!

    Haha, maximum irony. Nice one.

Does skarbrand help your chew threw skeles?

I reckon a horde of Skellies is pretty much his worst nightmare actually. They'll take him down in short order, especially with 2" weapons. Skarbrand is much better pointed at huge, "invulnerable" models. Like apex monsters and characters. He'll blitz any of those.

So it's been awhile since I've browsed this chat and I've had a few questions for the khorne community. First off are we not able to run Goreglaives in units if 5 man squads? And for tournaments be it 1k or 2k are people trying to abuse summoning or are we still looking at battalions? Thanks and happy holidays!

    1. You only get a Goreglaive in units of 10 or more. 1 per 10 lads.

    2. I don't tend to see any fully tooled summoning lists these days, but I've seen a Blood Sacrifice here and there on a Priest or Shrine or both (in Gore Pilgrims, ergo 4 Blessings). Lots of min unit Reavers though, and full complement of characters (as always). Skarr pops up a bit. I've noticed a few peeps saying they're pretty satisfied with the churn of Tithe and summoning just through normal play. I reckon I am.

I thought the list winning events was the Council of Blood, which they have done nothing to nerf...

Yeah, I was just being snarky because in general:

    Well, the news is out:

    - Karnak, seventy more
    - Bloodletters, same cost, directly nerfed in power
    - Bloodcrushers, minus ten
    - Fleshhounds, same cost, can do pew pew

Well that's annoying. Khorne is on a particular trajectory with GW it seems.

Please stop winning all those major events peeps.

Karanak miniature looks amazing. I had concerns about the very "crowded" heads, but I dig it.

    From new FAQ:

Q: Some old abilities refer to a roll of 6. What does this mean exactly? A: If an ability refers to a roll of 6 (rather than a roll of 6+ or a roll of 6 or more), it means a roll of 6 after rerolls but before any modifiers are applied.

I had some arguements over this since AoS1 where it counted as 6+. Does it make Crimson Crown useless or can still be worth it?

Well, if any suckers (like me) are still taking Bloodletters because they were easy to paint and there's a tournament in January, maximising no. of attacks is more critical than ever, and that can only be achieved through the Portal of Skulls, Wrathmongers and the Crimson Crown...

    Short answer: yeah, kinda?

  18. 3 minutes ago, Killax said:

It's a pitty Bloodletters got changed like this, perhaps a cost reduction will be put in place with their power reduction.

If they had 2 attacks each with Wrath and Rapture rules at the same cost, do you think that would upset the broader AOS community?
