My guesses are any/all of these:

1: Extends the Wizard’s casting and/or unbinding range.

2: Grants the knowledge of all spells in their lore(s).

3: Allows them to cast more spells in a turn.

4: Perhaps dampens and/or makes casting enemy spells harder, within an aura.

5: grants a magical aura buff to all allied units within a radius, like +1 to cast/to hit/to save/something else.

If we have a free terrain spreading +1 save aura (I would love it !!) but we are going to be hated even more and called luminex elite... XD

I had a thought the other day that as the new terrain piece is floating, perhaps it might have movement in-game (under the control of one of the new heroes?).  Would mobile terrain be a possibility do you think or would it be a step too far? Pure speculation, of course.

Would be very cool ! but maybe overpowered if you have to opportunity to place an indestructible peace of scenery in front of big blobs of enemy at will ?

From what we know a caster will have to be placed on top and will likely benefit from bonuses linked to the magic phase (maybe + 1 to cast ? opportunity to cast bound spell ? More range ? Access to all the lores of magic ? They are many possibilities :)

I dont think is vampire silhouette. Notice this two moon shaped "things" is rather more models for LRL. Tyrion perhabs?

The 2 moons are a nice catch ! But I am almost certain this is not tyrion ( if only due to the fact he would have sun imagery instead)

To me it doesn't look like very lumineth but I could be wrong ! He looks like he's mounted.

The moon imagery could suggest  something gloomspite related ? (With the bad moon ?) But it doesn't seem very likely

  4. I'm gonna call it here just in case, I think the model that is going to be revealed today might be the ossiarch underworld leader with the great axe and that's maybe why they didn't revealed it last time when they should have. (maybe they're stretching as much as possible the number of model they can show every Monday )

Watch me get totally wrong in a few minutes xD

I have felt a lot of pain from LRL spells, but some of the best options never seem to go off for them in the games I've played (Nobody is playing Teclis yet).

I get the feeling the army would pop with his autocasts, but I have not taken their magic super seriously because a lot of casts are s high I never really see the spells on the table.

Maybe the hishian twinstones can be a great help for that ? Also if you play Syar having 2 aetherquartz can allow you to dedicate 1 for the reroll of a very important spell :)

I think its Destructions time to shine myself. We've been relegated to the sidelines eating and fighting amongst ourselves. It's time to fight and burn in the name of GorkaMorka!!

Yes I agree that destruction is sadlythe most undedevelopped grand alliance !

I would love a king brodd model to kick (literally) 3.0 but I think it would have been teased more heavily :

In terms of teased models I think that the new born and malerion are alas the most probable :/ (I mean I'd love those model but there is an opportunity cost for other great destruction models and as you said it would be great if it was your time to shine !)

I'm not convinced that gordakk's going to start off 3.0, considering he has a model already. I think it'd have to be something else, but I'm not sure what else it would be. Nothing to do but wait for the next drip-feed on that front, anyway.

The newborn of slaneesh would be a good model for that maybe ?? Or malerion's shadow elves

He has to be getting a new warscroll for this model right?   I mean the 8 wound current warscroll, doesn’t do this justice.

I think GW agrees with you and confirmed that Belakor will have a new warscroll !! :)

  9. Hi guys ! Just created a poll to have some facts to settle a discussion with my gaming buddy I'd really appreciate it if you could answer the poll about how you feel playing the same army that your friend !

    Thanks a lot !!

Really hoping a lumineth announcement tomorrow so we can finally have a balanced battletome and talk about what is really missing in the game : Duardins !! :) (And also a king brodd model for our favourite member of the community :)

Yeah exciting times, and thank you @Joseph Mackay for your sacrifice, appreciated 😆

I think Teclis is in a pretty good spot, if you take him, he’ll change the way you play and can pull his weight. On the other hand, he has some disadvantages and is not a “must” if you want to play Lumineth successfully. He’ll likely get stronger if we we see a new spell lore. The Bladelords also might have a “guard Wizard“ ability. But Teclis is walking on a fine line, if he can dish out a lot more mortals or becomes just a bit too tanky, he’ll be too good for his points.

Things I hope we get are speed and some good, old fashioned punch (hopefully not only via mortals). I really hope the Bladelords are the heavy hitters they should be, and we can play a more fragile, but more heavy hitting and more maneuverable play style.

With so many new heroes, if they don’t all have bad rules, we should see a lot more options to play then right now.

Between BR Teclis and all the new units they’d have teasing material for ages, so hopefully we start seeing some of it soon. After all the named March the month of the Lumineth, so please enlighten us : )

That's the problem I have with him is that his 4 spells (because he only does that frankly) is not enough to justify the huge investment ;/ if he had maybe 5 or 6 ? But 5 vanari unit can cast those spells for the same point cost almost the same efficiency (with twinstones ) and actually control objectives :/

I don't want him to dish out more mortal wounds just to be a better totem and gives more  buffs to the army because that's what I would expect of him :/

Bladelords with a guard wizzards ability sounds awesome !! Maybe they are also a unit that can cast the sanctuary endless spell usefully !

I feel that if we get too many heavy hitter with our ranged capacities and our ability to hit with two unit in a row it would allow us to too systematically one shot any thing :/

I imagine the banner will give use a movement or bravery buff, or possibly an after save (though I think that's less likely.)

Teclis is actually very good, but he's meant to be a support piece that dominates the magic scene.  His warscroll spells are excellent, as are his additional abilities. If you're looking for a beatstick however, he'll let you down every time as that's not what he's designed to do.

I think the main things our army would benefit from are speed and offensive punch. We have a lot of strong defensive units, some of which are quite deadly, but we don't have many units that we can just hurl at the enemy and tear them apart with.

Hurakan is going to be focused on speed, which might allow us to make other units faster as well.

The ballista will definitely give us a ranged weapon that our enemies have to close the distance to deal with, and the Bladelords are supposed to be pretty deadly, so our army should be in a really solid place once the units come out.

I'm excited to see what command abilities our new heroes give us, as we don't actually have much in that regard currently. We'll also probably be getting a new spell lore with the Hurakan, opening up even more options for our army.

Thank you so much for your answer ! I didn't thought of a movement buff but that sounds cool !

Someone previously imagined the lord regent being able to let you reform your shining company for a CP I would love some kind of synergies and cool abilities like that !

I know teclis isn't supposed to hit hard or tank.. and I'm fine with this design choice !  But the way I see it he provides +1 to cast (that can be given by the twinstones or zaitrec) and his 5+ fnp (that is really cool) his other signature spell is quite random and cannot really be relied on :/ but that means that per turn he gives his 5+ fnp and then he only cast 3 spells and that's it, no real buff, no damage and definitely no tanking xD... he has no other utility than those 3 spells that can be easily cast by other units .. :/ I find it quite bad that a 660 point model is only here to cast 3 spells + giving a 5+ fnp and a +1 to cast... I would expect of him to synergize the army the way a Katakros does or bringing some unique ability allowing for a unique playstyle like + 1 spell for vanari, or sun metal weapons are auto cast or he has 3 aetherquartz or maybe he can heal models ? give - 1 to wound ? I don't know something cool and thematic that I don't feel we quite get with his current rules with regards to his point cost because right now he doesn't do really more than an Arkhan while being almost double his point cost ;(

But yeah with the wind lore spells maybe he has more utility or more synergies integrated with the new units

I also can't wait to see the command abilities ! :)

  12. Hi guys,

I'm so excited for the incoming release !! I just wish they would start to share some tidbits about the rules :/

What do you think our lovely army needs the most right now ? And how the incoming release might bring us new tools ?

for me I secretly hope that the banner will give us even more tankiness like a +1 save à la Katakros would be incredible and maybe a immune bravery ?

the ballista is expected to be a heavy hitter I expect maybe bonus against big blobs and heavy rend like -2 to differentiate from the archers ?

I also really hope there is a way to buff Teclis or synergise with him in there because as of right now... For 660 points he is just not worth it... Too fragile not killy enough he only has his 4 spells going for him and 4 spells for 660 points I think is too much when that could represent almost 40 wardens that would make you win the game by actually controlling objectives ! I always compare him to Katakros which I absolutely love and for 500 points of Katakros teclis is a no match in term of abilities he doesn't synergise much of the army, and aside being polyvalent he isn't that good anywhere else relative to its point cost :/

Otherwise I think our army lacks primarily a way to control objectives and own the table but I don't quite see a remedy to that in the upcoming release (aside maybe the teleportation of the wind spirit ?). I'm fine with lumineth not being able to controll the table that much as it's also the problem of the ossiarch and that balances their ability to tank and win by attrition ;)

    What do you think ?

The 2+, 2+ is not even that important, if they’d get re-rolls to hit for example, and 3+, 3+ that would be make them much more lethal than 2+, 2+. With -1 rend, in the end you are mostly fishing for mortals if the designers don’t change how Sunmetal works.

If Bladelords only have 1 wound, then they couldn’t cost much more than 100 per five, and even then probably barely be useful compared to the rest of the army. Of course they could put all kind of powerful abilities on the Bladelords, which make them work. But Wardens have 3 inch range, don’t need to pile in in a lot of cases, and can have 2 attacks, 3+, 3+, 2 rend. And are probably sturdier than Bladelords if the latter only have 1 wound. For 10 wounds and 120 points.

I’d love to see a glass canon, but they are hard to balance.

I don't think the vanari wardens can have -2 rend.. :/ the ability from the stonemage to increase the rend only applies to alarith stoneguards but maybe i completely missed something !

It wont be an elephant. it will have eagle claws and duck feet and a 36" reach, mortal wound causing squid trunk. 😝

I'd really feel for Slaves players if Lommies recieved a war elephant before them, like damn, straight slap to the face!! 🤣

Who am I kidding though, that wont be till wave 7 of Loomies. 😁

Heh, in all seriousness though they do have some fantastic sculpts.

So excited for tomorrow!!! I've even been preplanning a paint scheme for the new bonesplitterz. 20210215_234248.jpg.a0af452f2c5f28b4ce077a46ede41f50.jpg

Going with a "they tattoo themselves all black and less bright colors" scheme. Cant wait to get them under the brush!!👍

Woah ! I never was interested by any orruks army because they're not really my playstyle and they don't quite fit the kind or army I like aesthetically... But damn this paint scheme just created an alternate reality where I might start collecting some orruks ! :)
