  1. From the article: "The various plagues and contagions have more impact, and the troops are just as hard to put down. Even more so if you bring along their most powerful daemon, the so-called Loci of Fecundity." I've never heard of the Loci of Fecundity, but they're implying that you can field it in the new tome. Think it's just a new named warscroll variant of an existing model, just new lore, or maybe a new model?
  2. This is a cool find. Keen to see if this does end up being the case. If so this reveals the size of some new giant units. Not sure if the current gargants are the same size. These skulls look to be around 3/4, maybe a bit more, the height of a human model (Ossairchs are roughly human size to my knowledge). If that doesn't match the current scale of the gargants then my bet is that these are a hint for new models, and it seems as though they're pretty big if so.
  3. Does anyone know if the FEC got warscroll cards? I thought they got some in Carrion Empire but I don't know about outside of that. They're a small faction so that sets a precedent.
  4. This makes sense to me. I do think it's a new proper faction because there were warscroll cards, but the models could act like a mercenary faction and therefore the tome includes all the different rules for other mixing with other factions. Maybe? Dunno on that one. Seems most likely that more units surely have to be coming, as you said. Then again, GW are GW and they're not exactly against releasing small armies with limited kits. Flesh Eater Courts are an example. There are a total of 4 kits? Can't quite remember. Not to mention Archaon and the Varanguard are considered a viable way to play by GW. So maybe they view each gargant model as having their own rules, plus a multipart new hero that is massive like Archaon, terrain and endless spells, and they make up the lack of extra units by having some allying/mercenary capacity? I'm not saying I think that's a good idea. Just that seeing the Warscroll Cards shipped this far in advance makes me think it's somewhere in the nearish future rather than ages away, and I can't see them doing a proper expanded new army so close to Lumineth. Just a gut feeling, I suppose.
  5. I totally agree that they should do something like that. I'm not sure it'll be Beasts of Chaos specifically since in that lore piece, King Brodd is seeking revenge on the Beasts of Chaos, but a new elite unit to go with the hero could be great. The potential of a multipart hero kit, as you said, seems most likely to me. Being able to build him as King Brodd and then as an elite model sounds like a cheap way for GW to sell essentially two kits in an army. Something like the Pusgoyle Blightlords for Maggotkin comes to mind, but it's really just a guess. But yeah an entire tome and army dedicated to one/two units and a hero seems very bizarre, even if the gargants are high points. So I'm interested to see if my suspicions are right or if GW will be sensible and expand the faction to at least have some interesting options.
  6. Interesting, thanks for the info. Makes sense and sort of potentially confirms the idea that GW see Wrath of the Everchosen as a mini-update for the Maggotkin tome, especially since they got 4 sub-faction, Slaanesh got 3 and Khorne and Tzeench got 2 (from memory).
  7. Ah thanks! Interesting that the Wurmspat have that keyword specifically. Wonder if that means they can only be fielded under that sub-faction? I don't entirely know the rules when it comes to keywords but it seems strange that they're tied to one and not the Drowned Men too, for example.
  8. Also don't know if you guys have seen this or not. Seems the Sons of Behemat are going to be potentially using the existing gargant models with a new hero, possibly this King Brodd. Could be they get a new wave of models but with this in mind, doesn't seem likely to me, being that this dude apparently leads gargants from the "Sprawl", which is all but confirmed to be the ale-guzzling gargants of the Scabrous Scrawl. Seems to me they're probably gonna do an army of the current gargants led by King Brodd. Edit: hopefully the pic is easier to read now. The original picture indicated the rumour engine of that massive giant weapon could be this pillar Brodd uses.
  9. I noticed the Wurmspat AoS warscrolls have the "Blessed Sons" keyword. Anyone know what that could be about?
  10. Ah thank you. I have a Skaven and Maggotkin army, so it seems Malerion's Aelves are gonna steer to close to villainous for my collection. I think the Light Aelves are gonna be best for me. Can't wait to see more.
  11. So on the topic of Aelves, from what we know scattered in the lore, are Malerion's Aelves gonna be sinister and dark, just still aligned to Order? Do we have any hints in novels or tomes? I'm curious if they're just mist focused Aelves or actually dark sinister creatures. Trying to work out if Malerion's Aelves are worth waiting for. If there's enough lore to tell me now, that could help me decide whether to start getting excited about Light Aelves or not. I'm looking for a hero army so maybe you guys know some lore that'll give me an idea.
  12. Also don't forget about the Skaven flying ships too mentioned in their latest tome. They were given specific names too. Apparently an Arch-Warlock was inspired by destroyed Kharadron ships and created Skaven flying ships. As written: "dozens of armoured dirigibles, lightning-ships, warpfire barges and klawbombers take to the skies. Over the months that follow, the Skaven sky-pirates of Steelklaw's Much-great Sky-kill Air Armada raid..." and it goes on to say they destroy Orruks and other rival Skaven clans. My best guess? A Dreadfleet board game or system such as Warcry is incoming...but the ships are airborne! Either that or we are getting some sweet new airborne factions. Or it's all just background fluff. Hard to say.
