Am I the only one who finds those Ogors a bit too... slim?

To be fair, I recently looked into multiple other miniature lines. 7 Euro is quite standard for a single human-sized 28mm in a roughly comparable quality. Maybe there should be a discount for boxes of 10, but at least the old, not easy to build boxes had lots of neat spare parts that were well worth it. Still, I think 30-35€ for 10 basic infantry, or maybe 15-20 for a small hero I really want is about the maximum I’d pay without feeling ripped off.

I think prices do lift the bar of the point of entry. If I lived in Australia, I would never have bought my first GW miniature box just out of curiosity.
It also may have an effect in the decision to get into a second army. That’s the point where I am now.

Gravelords are doing quite well for an army that does not even exist.
Well, they will come and we have been given some clear views as to which direction their design will go. I, for one, am very interested. 😃
Some correlations could be interesting: Are there people that are interested in only one GA/fantasy race/whatever? If, for example, you like Lumineth, is it more likely to like everything elven? Or are the choices of a person all over the place?
-
Quite unexpected. Slaves, Gitz, Cities, Lumineth, Kharadron. Some of the oldest and some of the latest. Big and small collections. Traditional and very modern design.
Seems GW would be well advised to carry on going in a wide range of directions.- 5

Sorting out the ones with a 14+ from a roll with 60 d20 doesn’t sound like fun either. D20 have small faces and are quite round and rolly. Maybe even faster to roll and sort 60 d6 two times.

There is something wrong with your post, i see no mention of mighty Tzeentch in there! 😎
It’s really quite interesting, now that I think about it. The 4 daemon forces all have some absolutely stunning models in my eyes, but they never spoke to me as an army to collect, paint or play. Dunno why.
-
I chose the ones that interest me so much that I considered and still consider collecting them at some point. Regardless if I own nothing of them yet (Idoneth), just a few models (Skaven, Cities, Undead) or a whole army (Mawtribes) right now.

Too gaunt for an Ogor face, if you ask me. I’d say a Gargant‘s head.

Always have some cheap, rough or already out of form brushes handy for things like mixing paint, applying large areas of basecoat, shaders, drybrushing or putting snow etc on bases. These are all very destructive tasks. Save your good brushes for detail work.
If I destroy a brush (or any tool really), it’s often because I got carried away and didn’t switch to the proper tool in time.

Maybe ask where the player sorts himself into the categories of tournament player/collector/etc?
I have the feeling that most people know pretty well where they fit. You could directly see if they prefer different armies.

If we are to get a Broken Realms Alarielle down the line, I really hope it brings about the coming of her counterpart, Kurnoth and the Kurnothi even just for the lore fluff. At current The Realm Of Life/Ghyran is still locked in a conflict between Alarielle, and Nurgle I think. Whether Kurnoth comes to her aid or turns against her, I think it could be interesting way to forever shake up the war and the life deity relationship in Ghyran. If the relationship goes well, it also bring about the possibility of a united force of aelves and tree spirits again just like the woodelves of old.
Yea, still sad that the old elf/treeman uneasy alliance vanished. Gave them a certain dynamic and conflict potential within the alliance.

All the german online Shops seem to have problems with the deliveries from GW at the moment. Many boxes are out of stock. They have banners which say that it’s due to Brexit and COVID-19.

One of the bitzshops has new bitz again!
Seems they continue. 😃- 1

Do you really need the starter set for Warcry? Basic rules, a card pack and one or two unit boxes, plus some stuff to clatter the table with should suffice to play, right?
-
Yhetees can’t compete at the moment IMO. They don’t get the hungry/eating mechanic, they are on large bases and their 6+ save is only offset with frost aura against melee weapons. Also no trampling charge and no Might makes Right. I’d stick with gluttons at the moment. Maybe they’ll get a buff when they finally get new miniatures.

Yay! Those new vampires and skeletons just ooze the good old Grimdark/Oldworld feeling. Reminds me of what brought me to Warhammer in the first place. 😃

I bought my first box of GW minis because of the Mordheim PC game. Now I have a 2000 p army. It can happen.

I’d hate it to discuss the details of which rules to use before every game, and to have to remember them during the game. It’s the opposite of beginner friendly.

They also announced a new Pre-order faction reward. Which could be Chaos dwarves or Ogres.
I think Chaos dwarves are most likely because they have a smaller pool of interesting characters compared to ogre kingdoms.
Current Mawtribes line consists of 100% Ogre Kingdoms units. No need to reinvent the wheel.

I’m actually quite chilled about ToW at the moment. I see it just as a nice potential source for alternative models. If they are in 28ish mm and I like one or the other, I’ll consider where and if I could use them for some project (Wfrp, Mordheim, AoS, whatever). If the answer is no, it doesn’t take anything away from the hobby as it is now.
Just happy that the Old World lives on in many ways.

You’re right, Beastmen worked better in the old world. Dark forests in which animal people celebrate bloody rituals were pretty much a defining feature of the Empire. I also saw them as a dark mirror to the (already quite dark) Wood Elves.
Maybe Beastmen will have a comeback as an Oldworld force?

Personal interest in the army may play into that. 😅
But for what it’s worth, I think Skaven are in dire need to have at least their metal replaced.
