Also how does rally interact with returned units? I'm guessing it wouldn't let you rally more dead grots after you return it?

Returned units are new units for most (if not all) purposes and only if they lose someone they can rally dudes

The points are out of the GHB, which is great. Finally we won't have to deal with balance adjustments made, like, a year in advance. Kind of makes the latest battlescroll a bit puzzling to me, though. I really thought the reason why they didn't touch points in it was because we would get new points in the GHB.

Unfortunately in article on Warcom it is stated that GHB will be accompanied by points booklet. So while smaller booklet can perhaps be printed closer to release date points aren't yet decoupled from printed copies (not yet at least). Hopefully they will go further in with this in near future.

Doubled his damage? Are you sure? He does around 3 on average against a 3+ save.

Just to check, are you giving him claws and axe/sword? He only gets one option out of all of them now.

    OUCH! Hell I missed that.

Well so it's more utility for cancelling wards with Nurgle one I guess. He is on par with Lord on Krakadrak without Karkadrak so yeah sadly he is on par with other heroes, and no one want to turn into Deamon with Eye of the Gods roll - same as it was.

As I like when lore is reflected in rules to some satisfactory degree this warscroll is disapointing from that POV.

As for book as whole we will have to wait and see, I wouldn't worry too much, it could just be miss and many other things hopefully will be hits.

What to people think about the new Daemon Prince leak?

Personally, I think it looks really weak unfortunately. The book could well change all that around with allegiance buffs, but it's still a massive disconnect from the lore wherein these are meant to be the strongest a chaos lord can ever reach. The pinnacle of power only bestowed upon a select few, with a price most could not hope to bear.

In game, they're a beatstick hero who's about as good as the average lord character in combat, which is to say, not very good.

... I have a bit of a bad feeling about this book from a narrative-rules standpoint.

EDIT: no he only slighlty increased dmg :(

He roughly doubled his damage and is better than current Lord on Karkadrak, got 6+ ward and +2W. Will depend on points. He is not super hammer like some but could be decent still.

I’m pretty sure their intention was the skinks warscroll.  Just like in fangs of sotek where everyone thought it was everything with the skink keyword but it’s just the skinks/chameleon skinks warscroll.

Well it's quite clearly written in book that it's unit of skinks (chameleons are keworded tough) when it comes to Fangs of Sotek :). Problem is with people skimming rules and not actually reading what is written. Of course me included many, many times. Ha!

So your kroxigors will only get the bonus to hit being near an actual skink unit,  aka the warscroll called skinks

No, it is "any SKINK unit" on Krox ability so it absolutely works by keyword. And there is no "Skink" warscroll it is "Skinks" so it would not work like you describe even if it was not Keyword.

I actually really like that this is now an option in KO. Reminds me of the souped up Runefathers you can build in the new Fyreslayers book. Could it be that GW is finally figuring out how to stat combat heroes?

To be fair, at least Admiral with Grudgebearer (for double dmg vs. one hero) or say Zon artifact (+2 atk), was pretty good already. And he didn't improve that much in melee, more in shooting as he lost his rerolls in melee, so net gain is not that drastic. Still welcome of course especially with his hammer vs Coalesced. And foot Endrinmaster was also good and say in Zon with artifact was somewhat reliable source of MW.

But I like your point on combat heroes, especially not priciest ones (those were often fine before). Let's just look at Savage Big Boss or Sludgeraker (which surprised me with it's dmg/pts efficiency, typical more for units not heroes), Runefathers and Grimwraths which works very nice with their traits/artifacts. Also abilities that started appearing allowing for foot heroes to attack first without gimping yourself as units can follow up on their attacks can mean a lot (aforementioned Savage Big Boss and Runefather, also non-monster Soulblight Heroes). There is definetly something good happening with this.

Ok, cool, so Krondys has a build in +1 to wound (only for this one melee attack), where only two or three armies are actually capable of giving minus to wound?

Kind of? It's just slower bracketing usually, Black Dragon from Cities is the same.

That makes him even worse competitively for me!

That changes nothing? I am not sure how that make him worse? It's just that it will rarely come into play

  9. 1 hour ago, AR605 said:

That said, Krondys Apex Maw will always fail, if you roll the needed 1? What‘s the matter with that? Why making an attack of 1+ to wound if you can‘t get it on a dice roll of 1…?

I haven‘t seen anybody else asking this question…

If Krondys were f.ex under effect of debuff, like spell or ability that modified to wound roll by -1 he still would wound on 2+. So it's kinda hedge against debuffs in effect. And by doing it that way GW gains additional point on damage chart, and he ends bracketing at 4+ instead of 5.

Fanatics going down doesn't help the core issue with them, which is that unleash hell just erases the unit, even on things with bad shooting profiles.

Nerfed Unleash Hell means it's harder to be in position for missile troops tough. So maybe there is something there? It depends how Unleash Hell will be used in practice. But certainly it will be much harder to cover frontline units by backline missile troops.

Not saying that it is competitive choice, but maybe thay can now be actually used now and then.

Sound like a delay though by the wording

Be ye not afraid, however, because there’s still plenty of festive fun still to come on Warhammer Community between now and Saturday. There’ll be reveals, your chance to vote for the 2021 model of the year, more intel on the Warhammer Age of Sigmar balance update, and a special Christmas Day surprise…

More intel, yeah sounds like delay

But if you read Fly hight animoty seems the same wording! And there is a faq about that

KO has additional rule tough regarding Skyvessels teleports ie. Disengage. This caused some confusion as it really wasn't working in 2.0. I guess with advent of 3.0 and somewhat different rules it triggered (again) questions to rules team (mine amogn them), and they decided to rule it that way. For KO, for specific interaction/restriction that is present on KO Skyvessels.

I would not, from this specific rule, try to reach conclusions regarding general rules, as once again there is part (Disengage) that is not present elsewhere.

Tough of course it would be nice if GW clarified all of this in unambiguous way. I certainly asked.

-Guys about scar-vet on carno. Is better play him with spear or blade? As warscroll seems usless play him with blade bacuse you lose 1 damage more in charge, blade give no buffs, is there any faq?

    - Another question : 4-8 engine ability can heal engine too?

    1. Spear is better as there was no FAQ on weapons. It is a bit strange, yes, maybe GW made mistake and later went oops.

    2. Since Engine is within 12" of itself it heals too.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    1. one of weaker ones, probably. Though with tourny results there is self selection problem where competitive players tend to go for powerful armies.

    3. Chance? Characterful? It's Gitz all right, especially Squigs.
