Warhammer Fantasy Battle is dead. With Inspiring Presence, Battleshock is managable within the current rules. I'm not the one wanting to change the current game, in this case by asking a  nerf to Inspiring Presence.

Calm down Gouda eater or I'll Blitzkrieg all of your cheese and beautiful weemen!

As Verminking said, you can still play Battle, I still do sometimes. If I said so, it's because you told us you just started AOS, and I figured you never played Battle.
    And guess what ?

Deletion due to battleshock simply feels awful. Now a unit running off and needing a hero to chase after them sounds a lot better."

That's a bit what battle is about, if your unit runs away, you have a roll to make with your unit to rally them, and if it fails and you're in range of you're great banner, you can try again.

My post was a friendly advice. You SHOULD try BAttle. It's a great game!

Ps : Now, listen to me kiddo, I'm a former seal, I use to weight around half a ton, I can still eat all of your cheese and kidnapp your weemen! The ball is in your side (That's a joke on the "navy seal" internet meme).

Skyborne Slayers looks like fun, but i guess a gav drop is more competitive and has the same means of counterplay, Skyborne merely narrowing down the distance that needs to be screened, while not being concerned with charges happening over 12".

I thus think the two are pretty comparable with Gav being a slight bit stronger and Skyborne being a bit more fun and stylish if you enjoy strike chamber models.

As my dice rolls are always terrible (last game I rolled 6 time a double ace), Skyborne slayer might be a surer way for me to charge enemy units :)

I will absolutely try that. The Phalanx felt a little weak, but some people around the store recommended it. I'll try making some lists without it for sure. Thanx!

Phalanx being one of the only almost usable battalions what's left ? I'm seriously wanting to use Skyborne Slayers. What do you guys think about it ?

  4. Hey guys,

You can still make the pile-in move, just need to finish B2B with all the models you were previously. Which is not a problem for a flying model.

So you fly over the models and get back to your position or just fly over and cross ? I'm sorry to make you guys repeat yourselves, don't understand how that's legal and viable.

Sorry if the image doesn't work, I'm trying to do this via mobile, but to answer that question, yes it is legal. You move 1" over, 1" back, as long as you end in the exact same space as before you're playing within the rules. If your opponent is ok with you saving time, you can just say you did it each time. The rule is there, after all.

    Yeah, image"s too smal :)

It doesn't say that, it says that you must finish your move at least as close to closest enemy model you started pile-in

And because Drake can fly, he can move over enemy models, so he moves a milimeter of his base over enemy model's base and goes back - done, you roll for MWs?

So there isn't any actual flying ? It's just imagined ?
I was told there was an errata saying taht if a model is at equal distance between town models, he then cannot pile move anymore. SO if that move is legal, we still have to be careful about position, right ?

    Dragon Cheese ? XD
But how could that pile in would be legal or interesting ? More often that not, unit targeting a Stardrake would be either ver numerous, or too deep to do a 3 inch fly. Furthermore, isn't the pile in rule saying that we can only move toward the nearest enemy mini ?

  9. 3 hours ago, Siorra said:

Playing it like this, I'm regularly charging in slightly over range then "backing up", doing D3 mortals, then doing D3 mortals every combat activation by "shimmying". If this is correct, why would anyone take a different mount trait? It makes the Stardrake way more killy than people let on.

CAn somebody draw it ? English is not my mother tongue and don't really see how you would do that and it would be legal

I would let you count it as wanderers even in a tournament. Its not nearly as powerful as plenty of things that are totally legal. If you wanted to bend the rules with Skaven or Slannesh, I would be a lot less lenient.

In a friendly game, definately 4. Tournament as well.

3 is odd, because it gives a point discount.

Why whould you guys say yes in a tournament ? Do you think it's that expensive for what it does ?

  11. Hey guys, Is the Waystone pathfincers battalion still competitive to play against GHB 2019 armies ?

I'd like to field it at 2500 points with the Sisters of twilight to play against a Legion of whatever guys at my local gw.

It looks like the axed units will still be available to their parent factions, just not as part of Cities of Sigmar allegiance, your army has not been invalidated, and all of the units that didn't get discontinued are getting shiny new warscrolls. Business as usual, everybody wins I guess! 🥳

For dwarf artillery affectionados like myself, this means our Cities of Sigmar armies will still be able to ally in Cannons and Organ guns as part of the Blacksmoke Battery mercenary company.

Nothing to be happy about, they'll certainly become useless with the next GHB

Why would anyone in their right mind be buying the mess that GW had put High Elves in? Why would anyone sensible be buying armies that GW had given little inclination they were still actively supporting? Why would people be buying battle line troops that weren't available to buy except in some legacy starter set from a previous edition? Why would anyone be buying tiny factions with one unit and one character and that's all you get if you need to use those troops as battle line? Gosh it's amazing these kits weren't flying off the shelves they weren't even on to begin with. What a silly argument lol

To play WFB8th ed or 9th age ?

There are always models that used to be sold. Is it reasonable to expect GW to stock every single model they've ever produced?

Nope. But you only see it in the commercial way. They're a manufacturer who sell miniatures. Sure. But there's more to it for consumers.
Why did a lot of people complained when Battle died ? Because they were attached emotionnaly to the Old world. A lot of us still are.
They don't sell computers, they sell a whole universe, and it's normal that people want to see what grew upon them, to live on.
Anyway, have a good day mate

The communication on this has been very poor, no argument there.

    That's a big problem!
