Free People Handgunners seems to have gained the Crossbowmen stand and shoot ability.

Why run and charge on the crossbow men, that's just a bad joke and kick in the nuts for all who have them, and no chance to deal rend, the old piper ability was the biggest reason I made them that way.

You can deepstrike with Runesmiter, just need him and the unit to be in the same group, so when time comes to set the up by the battleplans rules, set them aside and deploy on your next movement phase as pr usal.

Painting question. I'm trying to achieve the Vostarg Lodge look, but the metal is throwing me off. According to all of the guides it's Retributor/Liberator Armour in the same way you paint Stormcast. The problem is in those guides the end result is inevitably a lot brighter and... well, gold than on most of the website/Battletome pictures, where it seems a more toned down than that, almost a bronze or copper colour.
Any suggestions?
Try retributer armour and then shade it with reikland fleshshade

If there were new sculpts for these models, it would have made sense to display them at GenCon. The next chance will be at CoS release.
If there are no models at CoS release, they've made clear that that book is just a temporary way to milk more money, but they won't support any of the armies in it long term.
Perhaps, we will learn the way of it soon enough. I hope they pulled the free people mounted general to replace him with one on a demigryph.

Have any of you considered that they maybe have pulled some of them for repackage or perhaps some will come in a new sculpt.

Perhaps people just buy up kits now, before they can't get some of them anymore?
Myself have just bought enough for a meeting engagement list for a club escalation league, so was nice to see the new tome revealed after I made the decision to go Free People.

I know, plan to pick up as many terrain packs as I can afford, as my primary game is AoS and don't have terrain of my own.

Starter set and mausoleum for me too, but only really intereste in Corvus Cabal of the warband shown for now.

Look at it way, if you got the starter set, then you have a week to build the terrain and read rules, before you get them and can build em. Atleast that is how Iam distracting myself from them not being in my hands at the same time as the rest.

Looking at the screenshot I'd actually change the prayer out to Prayer of Ash for a slightly higher Shardfist Pelt chance.
Still though, 3 drops, plenty of firepower, Vostarg run and charge and big first turn move, and then the extra attack from the kinband. Idea is to run the mags together, using the general to give the shardfist runeson reroll hits and use ranged attacks. Plenty of 1st turn command points and some cheeky blocking tricks with the wall.
What do you all think?
The new matched play rules in the GHB 2019 says you can only buy 1 command point

In normal 2K game I can see the need, but in meeting engagement, the best you can do is 2x base unit size.

Tried this in a fight against Grand Host of Nagash, did well and won on points, but had to kill a unit of 20 Grave Guards twice and that was not fun 😅
We played with a single objective in the middle of the board, deployed all from long edge. Took the points and win conditions from a YouTube video to try it out.

You are right, confused me, that they made it a new ability like that, wish the Crossbowmen still had it, only painted 10, so guess the 8/10 more I've build, will meet with my knife to get guns instead.
