Chaos Lord on Karadrak was a great hidden cannon for me and mvp. If you make him your general in Goretide you can have his hex axe at 5/3/3/-3/3 with a runeblade artifact, on top of all his sword and good mount profiles.

I just ran a Khorne mortals list this weekend with the Chaos Lord on Karkadrak as my General in Goretide with the runeblade artifact and I can definitely confirm that he can absolutely lay waste to things. At one point he was in range of my Bloodsecrator, he was Whipped to Fury and had Killing Frenzy as well.

Makes sense actually. Last week I was on vacation in the UK and I was at one of their major store fronts and was chatting with one of the employees who asked what faction I played. I told him Legion of Blood and then I proceeded to talk about how I wished LoN would get updated and/or there would be more Vampire stuff. He told me that he has heard internally of a Soulblight related army coming out but not until 2021, which seems like a really long ways away but I don't know. He also mentioned some really big models coming out in the near future fr AoS. If there was a Soulblight related army coming out then I could very well see "Legions of Nagash" being phased out for specific Death factions and not the LoN "soup" as we know it.

Interesting about the possibility of Giants. I posted the above last November. When I was in the UK at one of GW's major stores I was told about how an army of "giant" models was coming for destruction this year and then he went on to talk about a Soulblight specific battletome end of this year or start of 2021. I took all of that with a grain of salt but now it seems a little more legit.

Is there a consensus on what the better loadout is for Mighty Skullcrushers? I'm leaning toward Ensorcelled Axes for the increased hit chance, but I know people take Meatripper Axes on Reavers just for that -1 rend.

I'm just getting into Khrone and I am in the process of building my Mighty Skullcrushers and I too have not yet decided what is best. My current plan is to run a Mortal Khorne list and use a unit of six Skullcrushers. Their whole purpose in my army is one of two things. First being, since they are a unit of six they can do great mortal wounds on the charge, however if they get charged or I need them to tie something up for a while they can do that. If I want them to be killing things with their weapons then I'll put killing frenzy on them. Currently I'm leaning towards Bloodglaives so that I can get the rend with them and that will allow them to hurt some bigger harder hitting models. They have the wounds and saves to tie something nasty up.

Looking at the math with no buffs the Bloodglaives  do slightly more damage to things with a 2+ or 3+ save and the same against things with a 4+ save. Then Ensorcelled out damages the Bloodglaives against thigns with a 5+, 6+ or no save. So it really depends on what you want them to go up against.

I’m guessing that unless there is some other additional rule back up where it talks about the special rules for picking your Khorne warband, any of your Darmon Heroes can use the ability not just your general then. Least that is all I can see RAW at the moment. It’s like getting a free realm ability to use.

Not to necro this thread, but I just want to confirm that this is in fact the case that every Khorne Daemon (that isn't a named Character) can use the Reapers of Vengeance command ability "Leave None Alive" and not just your general?

There has been a lot of errata to the text in the Battletome. All command traits and artefacts can be taken by all Khorne heroes, regardless of whether they are Daemon or Mortal. The only ones that are specific are Command Abilities for the various Hosts, but even then you need to read the text in the historium of the Errata. So yes, Blood Lords "Slaughterer's Thirst" and "Halo of Blood" can be taken with a Khorne Mortal unit, like the Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut.

Ok thanks, that certainly makes for some interesting combinations with some of the Slaves to Darkness Heros that are marked Khorne.

  6. The FAQ for Khorne says that a mortal can be a general in a Reapers of Vengrance or Blood Lords Slaughterhost. Does this mean that mortal could take the the command trait and artifact? I ask because the "normal" command traits and artifacts of power are specific to mortals, bloodbound or daemons but the slaughterhosts ones do not specifically mention that criteria. I realize that Reapers of Vengeance and The Bloodlords artifact says "The first Hero to recieve a daemonic gift must be given the artifact" however the generic Daemon only artifacts are listed as "Daemonic Weapons" or "Daemonic Adornments" I figured the argument could go either way. Since "Daemonic Gifts" doesn't specifically say daemons only but obviously Daemon is in the name "Daemonic Gifts"

  7. Something to consider, is that if you have an extra artifact you could give a Khorne Daemon Prince "The Crimson Crown" artifact, so that he can use his command ability once per battle round for free. You can basically keep it up indefinitely, so long as he is alive.

Lastly I expect Nurgle, DoK, Idoneth and Stormcast to be updated in 2020. Probably endless spells / scenery for all except stormcast who are due a new release.

I would think LoN would be updated before DoK, Idoneth and Stormcast if they weren't the poster boys of AoS based simply on release order of the current battletomes. Plus there is some terminology in LoN that is still pre 2.0. However, I also wouldn't be surprised if GW started to phase out LoN since it is kind of a soup Death Faction, who knows maybe they have specific plans for Soulblight. We already have a Ghoul, Ghost and Super Skeleton faction, only thing really missing is Vampires.

Soulblight has been crying out for new models and a proper battletome for ages.

I would LOVE for a Soulblight battletome! I've done a ton of custom kit bashing for VLoZD's and Blood Knights unfortunatley they just don't seem to be as competitive in today's meta. I'm currently in the process of making a Vampire Khorne army, but a legit Soulblight battletome would be amazing.

Does the fact that is says 1 STD hero and not 1+ or 1-x mean that you cant include additional heros as part of the 7 required units? Or can you have a hero as the 1 hero and then include additional heros as part of the 7 units?

The way myself and others read it is: you must have 1 Hero be the "leader" or fill that single Hero slot as a minimum. Then, it just says "7 Mortal Salves To Darkness Nurgle" units. The Chaos Lord, Sorc Lord and Warshrine all have those Keywords (assuming you give them Mark of Nurgle), so I don't see why they cannot be included in that.

Plaguetouched seems to require exactly 1 hero and 7 units, so youd need to split up units to run the battalion (maybe this was your intent, but pointing out just for clarity's sake)

Oh yeah should have made that more clear. also forgot a block of 15 Chaos Warriors. The Marauder Horseman are two units of 5. So your 7 mortal StD Nurgle units are: Sorc Lord, Warshrine, Marauders x40, Warriors x15, Knights x5, Marauder Horseman x5, Marauder Horseman x5.

  12. Your opponent likes rolling 6's? Not anymore!

    Ravagers List

General: Chaos Lord on Karkadrak, Command Trait that gives him +2 wounds, realm artifact that gives -3 rend to his axe (250 pts)

Chaos Sorc Lord, Spell Mask of Darkness to teleport a unit (110 pts)

Daemon Prince - Command Trait -1 to hit in Combat Phase, artifact that increases his aura to 18" (210 pts)

    Chaos Warshrine (170 pts)

    Chaos Marauders x40 (300 pts)

    Chaos Knights x5 (180 pts)

    Chaos Warriors x15 (300 pts)

Chaos Marauder Horseman x5 (90 pts)

Chaos Marauder Horseman x5 (90 pts)

    Mindstealer Sphiranx (100 pts)

    Plaguetouched Warband (180 pts)

    1980 pts, 75 bodies, 151 wounds, 8 units, 3 drops

Everyone takes the mark or Nurgle and everyone except the Daemon Prince and Mindstealer Sphiranx is in the Plaguetouched Warband, which means anytime your opponent rolls a 6 to wound they take 1 mortal wound. In addition, you put the Daemon Prince command ability on a unit that is going to be in the thick of things, so anytime your opponent rolls a 6 to hit that unit they take D3 mortal wounds. Furthermore with the general being Nurgle, your units are -1 to hit from range and your heros are -2 to hit from range (Look Out Sir and Nurgle Aura). I think with this list you largely play a game of attrition and sit on objectives, meanwhile you're summoning in Marauders / Marauder Horseman on their backlines

Currently this is correct. Also the 6++ currently stacks, because the rule is "within range of this model" instead of "within range of any models with this ability". So 4 warshrines would grant 4 6++ saves.

Also Khorne Washrines can use the Judgement endless spell things from the Khorne book. - answered that question wrong earlier in the thread thinking they were asking about the Khorne blood blessings, which require khorne allegiance.

Are you saying a Khorne Warshrine in a Slaves to Darkness army can use Hexgorger Skulls? Because I was told that they can only be used in a Khorne army. However, if in fact the Hexgorger's could be used in Slaves to Darkness, that would be pretty amazing.

There's still a whole week before the Battletome releases.

Yeah but this is the week we'd usually see some more stuff, this weekend the YouTubers should have the Battletome and information which they will then post about. At least that's how its been with Bonereapers, Maw Tribes, Orruk Warclans, Cities, etc. Also, the updated warscrolls should be up on GW's New Zealand website in a few hours.
