I feel really torn about the vangorian lord. On one hand i love it but on the other one i really like characters riding things. I think i could slap a head on the monster body and add legs to the rider
I agree 100000%. I think Lauka Vai / Vengorian Lord look good if they were two different models (bottom half and top half) but together as one model it looks a little goofy to me. I think it is because it obviously is supposed to be like a Centaur Vampire, but I feel like the "human" half should be connected at the waist and not the shoulders. Soooo, if this model has stats that are good and I want to include it in an army then my plan is to kit bash it, joining the human half to the beast half at the waist and then putting wings on its back (maybe from VLoZD kit?).

I was definitely hoping for more 'generic' units. I understand they probably want to set up and push these new AoS-only Bloodlines, but most of the release feels like special characters... which might lend credence to the idea some of these were C*rsed C*ty releases hastily torn out of expansion boxes and are pretending they were always meant as something for AoS Soulblight alone.
So i get the argument that some of these could have originalyl been planned as Cursed City expansions. However the one wrinkle in this theory is that since Gravelords release is this month, that means the Battletome would have had to be printed a while ago, well before the Cursed City issues, right?
Anyways shifting gears back to todays reveals. Like others, I am slightly disappointed that we didn't see more generic Heroes and/or units. I have to assume there is some carry over from LoN. In the photo on the War-Comm article we see Vargheists, a Corpse Cart & a Terrorgheist. I assume we will have Black Knights carry over, especially since we are getting a new mounted Wight King. The only other real questions would be a Necromancer (likely since we have zombies), Coven Throne / Bloodseeker Palanquin (likely) and the Mortarchs (very likely). So basically this is LoN with some new named Heroes but (likely) dropping Arkhan, Morghast, MAYBE Grave Guard and Bat Swarms.

So the end of the Gravelords model reveal video says "Conquerors of Undeath Coming May 2021" so we should have our new book and models in the next couple of weeks!!

So they said we've seen all of the models now in SBGL. I assume some carry overs from LoN. But sad no new VLoZD named Hero nor Vampire infantry.

well here we go. Everyone say a small prayer to whatever deity you deem fit

boy oh boy am I going to be extremely depressed if we don't get more Gravelords info in todays reveal

I know a lot of people are going to disagree, but I am really hoping with all of the events in the BR series, it is leading up to the Vampires leash loosening and allowing them to have more autonomy. However that Flash Point blurb in the upcoming White Dwarf makes me think there is going to be something that ultimately reunites Death so that they can fight off Chaos.

All I know is that GW or the War Comm team is laughing their a$$ of reading these posts trying to guess what it is.

Unfortunately, you all are slowly convincing me that this is a kitbashed model using the Anvil of Blood character creation. But I'm still confident of us getting a new center piece model!

Reposting some rumours I found elsewhere
I think those are all *safe* rumors. It aligns with what I have been thinking as well.
1 hour ago, EMMachine said:It doesn't have to be a new model. After many of the new White Dwarf included "Anvil of Apotheosis" Rules, it is possible that this model is simply a conversion + including the warscroll into the White Dwarf.
It does look very similar to Sigvald's stance, so I could see it being a kitbashed model using the new Anvil rules. It's not like we haven't seen Sigvald converted to a Vampire before..

There is a possibility that it's a kitbash using the character creation rules.
That was what I had mentioned in my local AoS discord grp. But I'm unfamiliar with White Dwarf. Another member said WD's battle reports are usually matched play, so if that is the case then this could be a legit model. However I am not going to hold my breath until we get more details.

Where has the name come from? I couldn't see anything in the article, can't it just be Abhorash?!

The character creation is almost certainly Anvil of Apotheosis, didn't White Dwarf do this for OBR or some other faction? BUT the real point of discussion is who is this Lauka Val, the Mother of Nightmares!?!?

What time of the month does White Dwarf usually hit the shelves?
I don't pay much attention to White Dwarf but scrolling through my local Warhammer stores Facebook, it looks like they made a post on April 16 about the last White Dwarf being available. So mid month I guess?

I'm messing around with the image and trying to adjust light, color, clarity, etc. But it is really hard with this image. Like others mentioned, looks like some Lumineth scattered about, and then the Wight King on the far right with his lance. No idea what the giant model is. At first I though it was riding something but the torso up looks too disproportionally big to be riding something. Below the torso looks as if it has weird mutated legs?

I've honestly been trying not too hard to think about those guys. They look like they're carrying greatswords approximately three times as tall as they are, and while I'm all for oversized weapons fantasy weapons, there's got to be a limit somewhere.
God, please no super long weapons. The LRL Wardens are absolutely ridiculous. Although, if large great swords they should be a bit better in the sense that they won't be as brittle and the way a great sword would be held would more than likely add to the models vertical size as opposed to horizontal size (aka LRL Wardens).

I am not 100% confident that these are new units or even Gravelords units. I've seen some compelling arguments of it being a different model from a different faction, all the way to some sort of scenery in the background. However, I would love for these to be elite Vampire foot soldiers, or elite skeleton infantry but they look too big to be skeletons.

I was just browsing GW's website and I just noticed that Bat Swarms are completely missing from the website. They are not with all of the other "Sold Out, No Longer Available Online" models, nor are they in stock.

As both a Khorne & Legion of Blood player waiting for an update for either or both of my armies, I'm sitting over here like a drug addict going through withdrawals. Yes yes I know Gravelords are just around the corner, but the itch is just getting that much worse!

Ultimate weirdness giving a Ghal Maraz coin with a Grave Guard model! Again Blood Knights are referred to as elite, hopefully a good sign.
Based on this, I think the coin could be a nod at 3.0 coming soon, but it could also just be for Warhammer Fest. The Graveguard miniature and the fact that the article says the Gravelords release is "nearly upon us" makes be believe that we will have Gravelords release some time in May, or at the very least a full preview of the models in the line up. But I'll put my money on May release. I do like that the article once again references Blood Knight as "elite cavalry" I just hope their rules reflect that.
Also did anyone else catch in the article that when they mentioned Skeletal Warriors they say "which you'll no doubt be summoning a few units of" I wonder if Gravelords will have a summoning mechanic more similar to the Chaos factions?
As far as speculation of models, I think we all collectively agree that there will be Dire Wolves and more than likely the Nighthaunt stuff will not be in our book. I also do not think that FEC are going to be put into our book either. As for what I want to see in the book, but not necessarily what I think will be in the book:
-A large new (named?) Vampire Lord on Abyssal / Zombie Dragon, however this is a stand alone one and the current VLoZD is still produced in parallel with this one.-Bat Swarm reworked to absorb damage (could just be from missile weapon attacks OR all damage except melee OR just all damage), idea would be to pass wounds off on a dice roll. Alternative could be to make Graveguard live up to their name and allow the General (or nearby Hero) to pass wounds off to them.
-My hope is that the Crimson Court is representative of some new units, such as: 1) elite foot Vampire units 2) lightly armored fast flying Vampires, perhaps they can deepstrike or retreat and still charge or have some other niche roll/rule.
-Cool new faction terrain, could act as a healing/respawn area
-Cool new faction endless spells

Ghal Maraz coin does suggest 3.0 then, being the iconic Warhammer and all that.
The Grave Guard's a shame since that presumably means no new kit for them - going to look a bit weird next to the new, taller skeletons.
No Soulblight coin is a surprise too.
Agreed that the Ghal Maraz coin is a nod to 3.0 news. The Grave Guard miniature also suggests to me that Gravelords release is May or at the very minimum the full line up reveled in May.

I can't not see Soulblight getting their full release revealed next week xD. No more speculating on the full scoop of the range. I think the Bitey Boys time has come, when they'll release is another question entirely xD.
It's a drug, right now I just want to see what is in the line up, but once that happens, then I'll *just* want to see some rules and then once that happens I'll want release info, I'm feeling like a crack head over here.

Well I ASSUMED we would prior to today. But after today I am thinking we are not, since they said we've seen all the models now, and we didn't see them as stand alone models aside from being in Cursed City.
