  1. Speaking of Mortarchs from the old world, while I'm waiting for an updated Vampire / Soulblight Battle Tome I've created my own "Khorne Vampires" that are all kit bashed and basically Slaves to Darkness units used in a Khorne army. This is one of them, in function it is a Chaos Lord on Manticore but in my lore it is a Chaos Vampire Lord on some sort of Chaos beast. It's basically my take on Walach Harkon.

Wait, Seraphon are getting a Underworlds Warband. What if they release them with a StD Warband too and the Chaos Warrior is wearing a Seraphon hide cloak? Alright time to update my picture with some Serephon hands for comparison purposes.

    *EDIT*

OK I can totally see it. A cloak made from a Seraphon's hide.

    Called it!

it's weird because the model behind Johann looks like a dryad who got a birdhouse stuck on her... the motion looks like a shambling zombie yes, but all the other details point to Sylvaneth/dryad creature

WHAT IF  the new Death faction has Zombies that the models are from various AoS factions? A Sylvaneth rotting tree, zombie dwarf, zombie aelves, etc. All lead but badass Vampires! Need Blood Knights, Vampire foot soldiers, Vampire archers, etc.

Realistically I'd give that less than a 1% chance but I can dream right?

  4. As a huge Vampire/Soulblight fan part of me really wants the winged savior of Van Brecht to be a Vamp however part of me doesn't. Reason being, I'd prefer a stand alone Soulblight Battle Tome and I feel like if GW does updates to Soulblight in Broken Realms that means a stand alone book is farther off than I'd want. So count me as conflicted as to what that winged beast is that saved Van Brecht. But I can see it being either Vampire or Malerion related. I do find it weird that GW would add that Vampire bit to Van Brecht's backstory if they didn't intend on it playing a more major role at some point.

Really excited for this preview, should be some good stuff to see judging by these teasers.

I just pray to Sigmar and the Emperor that these aren't just more Warbands/kill-teams, small units in which the sculpts are beautiful but we never see the unit or army range expanded beyond that. :(

    Roll on Saturday!!

I fear that might be the case. Which is why I've started to convert some of them as either Heroes or unit leaders etc. The models are too cool to not use.

Am I the only one who thinks that decadence is also a trait of most Vampires? :D

I would love nothing more than to get Vamp updates. But based on all other context with Slaanesh lately, I'm inclined to think it is not Vamps.

99.9% sure (thats 666 the other way around) that it's a part of the Broken Realms 2 : Slaanesh book cover.

They said on the WarCom Sunday Preview video that "specifically Chaos Fans" had to look upon the Decadence and Decay preview, so this almost rule out other Species like Dark Eldars.

The Chaos reference may just be regarding Death Guard for 40k and the "Decay" portion of this event/title.

However, I am extremely confident that the next Broken Realms book is going to be Broken Realms: Slaanesh. We know the next Age of Sigmar collectors coin is for Slaanesh. So I guess it just depends on how frequently they are going to release a BR book. Monthly? Every other month? etc.

  9. I'm trying to find the picture but I remember seeing someone post the first three collectable coins. The first obviously being DoK, the second was something for 40k (I think Death Guard?) and the third was Slaanesh. Assuming that picture was legit, then I feel like the next Broken Realm book could be BR: Slaanesh and honestly it would make sense. This month (and BR Book) has been all about Morathi. We had BR: Morathi book, there is the Warcry Catacombs with DoK in it and then the Shadow and Pain Box. Second to Morathi/DoK has been Slaanesh. Now you factor in the Decadence & Decay announcement in five days, I feel like all things point to Slaanesh being the next major thing for AoS. As for the Decay part, I'm pretty sure that is 40k Nurgle/Death Guard.

    *EDIT*

Found the picture for the collectable coins. First three are DoK (AoS), Death Guard (40k) and Hedonites of Slaanesh (AoS)

  10. I agree that if we do not see any major Vamp/LoN stuff in Broken Realms then it is a decent indicator that a new Battletome is around the corner. However giving Vampire Lords on Zombie Dragons a selection of Mount Traits would be super nice, just like that they did with Idoneth Deepkin in BR: Morathi. While I'd love to get some sweet updates in BR I also know that if we do, then a new Battletome is probably much further off. GW did say that BR is going to have an effect on every faction in AoS, so I expect something, and given the range of major to very minor updates found in BR: Morathi, who knows what's in store for LoN.

  11. I'd stay away from KO unless you just really like them. A lot of people lose interest in playing KO players (assuming KO players are playing tournament lists). KO aren't unbeatable, but things that are really good in AoS: Shooting, Mobility/Board Control and Taking a Punch, KO does the first two pretty darn well. If KO had terrible mobility/board control and their gimmick was just shooting then it wouldn't be so bad. If you just play a non super serious KO list than your opponent will likely not have a terrible time.

I'll echo again what many have said, I wouldn't build a list just to counter a single person. However, LRL are pretty well rounded (probably because they are GW's new army), they can shoot, they can be tanky, they can dominate the magic game, etc.

Yep, and as someone who really loves the chaos lord on crackerjack, he’s at his best with the gorecleaver and hew the foe.

For sure! The Chaos Lord on crackerjack is one of my favorite models. So much so that I converted one to fit my Khorne Vampire Army.
