Don't forget GW doesn't (or shouldn't ) anticipate for brand new armies to sell as well as established ones, esp when those new armies are small like new AoS ones. Lumineth also got hit hard being brand new, but getting stuck in Corona outbreaks which stalled its launch. I think they will grow once they've one or two more temple units out and GW seems to think so since they are already gearing up for more!

On the contrary, I think that new armies sell better than established ones, as people get hyped by the novelty. By being a small range the consumer is forced to spend money in the same units multiple times until they reach the 2000 points mark (or whatever they play in their groups). Then GW release the rest of the range and the people´s armies are now over the 2000 points (if they released all the models in one go, the armies probably wouldn´t surpassed that amount of points).

That´s my view, at least when buying my initial goal is to plan purchases until I reach 2000.

  2. Happy new year fellas! Didn´t update last month, so I have plenty of things to speak of!

Firstly, I spent most of the time painting a Lord Kroak as a birthday gift for a friend, here it is!

Also finished the cursed scuttletide, and done a test shadow warrior and a base for a cold one chariot. The rest is still  WIP (executioners, sneaky snufflers, skragrott, loonboss and now a sub assembled Mangler Squig).

    So many projects!

Love those execution models. They are so much fun to paint. Still have 10 somewhere in a box. and Hag Karun has moved them a bit forward 😁

They feel very dinamic, taking into account that they were thought to be rank and file. The only problem with them is that I shot myself in the foot, wanting to use the shattered realms bases, as it is a nightmare to adapt the miniatures to it (they are metal minis made to be used on bases with slots)

  4. Well, I´ve completely failed my pledge, as I didn´t finished painting anything at all (been distracted with loads of stuff lol).

So, I have over the table some  executioners for my anvilgard army, sneaky snufflers, loonboss and skragrot and also a Lord Kroak diorama  as a present for a friend´s birthday (everything hald painted). As it were not enough, I´ve bought a pair of random boxes of Warhammers Heroes and that tempted me to paint some other plague marines that I had in my shelves (that of course didn´t have time to finish).

All in all, a succesful month 😅

  5. I don’t have any interest in Har Kuron, I used to like the concept of shady guys doing their things amid a mundane setting, in a some sort of alliance of convenience.

My army was going to be composed mostly of order serpentis with some stormcast support (a bit of extremis chamber), so in my lore they are an expeditionary force that was out of home during the events of broken realms. The elfs were using the expedition to search for exotic relics and goods (maybe some black dragon eggs) while the stormcast were assigned as some kind of guard/leash, so Sigmar can oversee the whole thing. The idea is that the stormcast and the aelf contingent has been so much time fighting together out there that by the time they return home they have learnt the value of cooperation. Just in time to see everything fall into pieces!

  6. Spider Riders, I tried to go hardly on Spiderfang just to find that only the arachnaroks get the work done. The riders should be the backbone of that subfaction, but they can’t survive or do combat, the damage potential compared with boingrots is abysmal while costing the same (and having a much bigger base). I know that mobility is a factor, but still...
