Thank you! Do you think it's better to make an army based around Stonehorns and Mournfangs or Thundertusks and Yhetees?

In my humble opinion the Mournfangs are over priced, if you don't use any battalion where are required like Eurlbad or Braggoth's it's better to left them out.

This is my favourite Beastclaws list:

Huskard on Thundertusk (Everwinter Master) 360

Frostlord on Stonehorn 420 (Ethereal Amulet)

    Frostlord on Stonehorn 420

    Fungoid Cave Shaman 90

    3 x Yethees

    3x Yethees

    3x Yethees

    60x Grots (Gutbusters)

    Mork's Mighty Mushroom 80

The Fungoid is essential to cast the Mushroom and to generate Command Points.

The Grots are very very useful to keep objectives.

Thanks! Should you use them sort of in between Stonehorns/Mournfangs and Thundertusks?

You can use them as battleline with an Thundertusk (Frostlord or Huskard) as General, but you have to use a couple of Stonehorns and 40/60 grots to tank the enemy attacks.

Remember that they don't need to charge to be in a combact, it's enough for them to have an enemy at 6" range.

My only problem is that they have a terrible 6+ save. They always end up dying quickly.

Yes, is true. But they give a -1 to hit roll to your enemies and they have 4 wounds each. If you use them like front line they'll die quick. If you use them in a smart way (optimizing the 6" "pile in"  to don't be attacked first)  and you attack on the flank of the enemy line you will find them very useful.

Hey guys, i wanted to start playing AoS with BCR. I just love the fluff, the models, etc. I plan only to play casual 1k point games with my other casual friends. I don't think i would choose any other faction(only gutbusters are just as cool, but most of their models are ugly and some of them are metallic... bleh) but i've heard many bad opinions about BCR. That they are completely unplayable. Will this be the case in the casual play? Because honestly, so many bad opinions are driving me off the game, and i don't know now if i should play it. I made this funny little list https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cf0WX81DWBH2KU1IDtpKXMv1qkbv5Xlq/view?fbclid=IwAR3xkqqsxmibQ4_epCWG_7IKEo_hYIOALlP-PUkNV1qf-2fVS0efX1kuFo4  which is obviously not designed to win many games, but i just wanted a cheap army to start the game right away(start collecting box+yhetees which i just find cool, even if they are bad). What are your opinions? My friend is probably gonna play sylvaneth or khorne warriors, will all games be one-sided victories for him?

It looks weird but at 1000 points Beastclaws are unplayable, but for your enemy.

If you play One or Two Frostlord on Stonehorn (using 10 orruks as battleline in the second case) you won't never lose.

At 1000 point your opponents don't have any models to destroy the Frostlords.

If I were you, looking at your list, I l'll put just one unit of  4 Mournfang's.

If you are able to charge your enemy's line you can first attack with Huskard, than after that with the 4 Mournfang's ( for your Huskard ability). Than your opponent will reply with the few remaining models. After that you can make a 6"pile in with Yethees and attack with them.

Yes you can, the dispell value of 7 is a bit painful and unlike some armies we don't have an excessive number of casts *cough* skaven *cough*

You're essentially spending 2 wizards worth of spells to recast it.

This is very good to know!

We can use our Mighty Mushroom even better to destroy our enemy battlelines!

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi! I’ve been toying with an idea ever since GH2018 came out with the costreduction for frostlords. I was hoping some of you more seasoned players could give me some feedback on it? Is it just plain stupid or could it work? Of course there are alot of lists/scenarios it will not work against, but maybe some that it will? Before I start buying stuff, I would greatly apreciate some insight.

    Allegiance: Beastclaw Raiders
    Mortal Realm: Aqshy

    Leaders
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)
    - Artefact: Thermalrider Cloak
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)
    Frostlord on Stonehorn (420)
    Icebrow Hunter (140)
    - General
    - Trait: Everwinter's Master

    Battleline
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)
    2 x Frost Sabres (40)

    Total: 1980 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 0
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 75

With this list your objectives is to delete your opponent army because your won't have enough models to claim objectives.

You need to charge with all your Frostlords at the same time. Keep them very close to not be sorrounded by enemy models ( to receive as less attacks as possible in one turn).

Use the Frostlord with the cloack and the Hunter to take down your opponent strategic models, like hero or wizards)

Keep the frost sabres far away, at the beginning, from the battle and use them to score points or to take down lonely enemy's units.

You can enjoy yourself with that list but you have to have a clear plan before starting play.

Go and teach your opponents the cruel law of our Mighty Frostlords!

    🙂

Two different options. One is dump it on as much of your opponents army as possible. Second is area denial, put it down where your opponent wants to move through and will have to sit in to try and fight through your line. This forces them to either not engage you or sit in the shroom for an extended period of time.

I like the second option. It's very good under the  tactical point of view.

I think that the Mork's Mighty Mushroom is one of the best Endless Spells, maybe the best. 80 points very well used.

Do you use other Gloomspite Gitz Endless Spells in your list? I mean do you think that there is something else that worth is point cost?

To be honest, after Gloomspite, I tend to agree. Whereas I would like to retain Gutbusters as an individual faction with an individual flavour (and the same for BCR), this is essentially still true for dankhold, squigs, etc. And I have separate armies for each of those, it doesn’t harm anything that I can also field the whole lot together. Like a mini alliance, really. Key bit is that each has their own command abilities, artefacts, etc. The only thing that doesn’t quite fit is the terrain piece, but that works better for skaven. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t holding out hope for a maw pit though :)

The most important thing is that the GW make Ogors and BCR  competitive against new Skaven, DoK, new FEC ecc...that's no reason to be so under considered by GW. 😞 sigh

Like this list. Mournfang In 4s, definitely. I’m not convinced by the pendulum, and while the vortex is a useful platform to cast the maw from, it ties your butcher down, which is slightly odd in such a mobile army. Personally, I think you’d get more mileage out of 6 yhetees than the butcher and spells, but a lot of people seem to be allying in a butcher for BCR currently.

Take out the Mournfangs. (They are too much expensive). As you choosed Huskard On Thundertusk to be your general, you can have Yethees as Battleline. (By far better than the Mournfang).

Instead the 8 mournfang, (640 PT) use 15 Yethees (600 PT). (You can run and charge near Thundertusks and Pile in 6")

Hey BCR players, I’m looking at building up a BCR army and wanted your thoughts on this 2k list.

1x Huskard on Thundertusk w/ blood vulture (Everwinter master, pelt of charngar)

    1x Stonehorn Beastriders w/ Chaintrap

    4x Mournfang w/ Gargant hackers

    4x Mournfang w/ Gargant hackers

    6x Yhetees

    6x Yhetees

    6x Sabre tusks

    4x Sabre tusks

How do you think it will play? I didn’t want to focus just on behemoths, since I wanted to be able to actually compete over objectives.

Additionally, this will be my second warhammer army. My first is a 2k Gutbuster army that I love, but they can be a bit slow and unwieldly at times. Do you guys think they are too similar? I know the models are very similar, but it looks like they play quite differently.

My suggestion is, put out some frost sabres + the Stonehorn Beastriders and add 1 Frostlord on Stonehorn to have one more hero (the Strongest of your army and one of the Strongest of entire game) to contest objectives.
