And would you like to enlighten us on what bases or information you predict those news?

We live in the "Age of Silence". An Age in which Rumours are worth more then any amount of Urgold to a Fyreslayer! And therefore, to read the future, TGA Members try to use stellar (release) patterns to scry for the future!

    This beeing said:
As long as we do not have Sylvaneth Released, we really cannot say anything about more Tomes being released. I guess 40k and Chaos Knights will be stuck in the Pipeline, too, but arent as "hot" as Sylvaneth due to the Looncurse Box.

I am a bit exhausted of posting "Yeah! StD will be the next ones!" as I did it for some weeks now and was always wrong~ But Overreads assumption that the Release will be related to Warcry sounds good to me.  But yeah, Specialist Games, GHB19, new Paints, Warhammer 40k Stuff like Apocalypse and new Vehicles, all will be filling the next 2 Months of release space.

I also wouldn´t expect any big new announcements from GW until Warhammer Fest.

    • If you want a easy to build, fast, and sturdy Army, Beastclaw Raiders may be a valid option. Each of them is a bulk that can tank a huge ammount of damage, is killy and the low model count makes armybuilding easier. And they are cheap due to the amazing SC!-Box.
    • Another option is an Troggoth Only Gloomspite Army. You field ~7 Models in 1k Games and the Stone-Troggoth are really nuts for the enemy to take down due to their hide-skill. And Fellwater-Troggoths in case you want to vomit onto your enemy when facing that guy.
    • Then there are the Cavalary-Armies: Soulblights (or tweaked into Legion of Blood) or Order Draconis can field about 1 Hero on Dragon + 10 Knights in 1k Games (~11 Models, Legion of Blood Requires additional Battlelines). These have the disadvantage of beeing a one trick pony (buff the cavalery and charge) and can be therefore dull to play.
    • A Grand Host of Nagash consisting of Nagash and his big Elite Guardian Thingies is also cool, but you will loose friends. And that fast.
    • Ironjaws can be played with a focus on Brutes, which gives you also an comprehensible ammount of big tanky models that hit quite good.
    • Idoneth with a focus on Eel-Riders are Tanky (2+ save ignoring any rend with the Leviadon Buff on the Charge iirc) and deal a huge ammount of damage, yet can also get dull because its another sort of cavalery (althrough idoneth have a ton of toys to play around)
    • Nurgle Rotbringers as mentioned are great

Actually due to the current way of armybuilding, several factions can go for big elite monsters or something similar. (f.e. Khorne Juggernaut Cavalery-Lists)

Oh, and if you really want to have a defensive army: Stormcasts. You can even lead to situations where you deal an insane ammount of MW with your saves due to Azurite Halo, Shield of Thorns and a Lord Castellan Buff. You enemy won´t charge that Blobb again

  2. Hej guys, I am about to order some big boy for my army and I have some questions:
In general, I am torn between Skarbrand and a Bloodthirster (either Wrath of Khorne or Insane Rage).

Did I understood it right, that Skarbrand gets his Cargange Roll for each attack? So Wrathmongers and Bloodsecrators can lead him to doing whopping 24 MW (not concidering any sixes), right?

Is there any advantage in taking a Wrath of Khorne or Insane Rage BT over him? I know IR can get a huge blastwave that AOE´s with MW´s and WoK seems like a nice utility mix with his unbind and solid profile.

[I currently habe 9 Bloodcrushers and 20 Bloodletters and a Skulltaker in terms of deamons + Mortals,k if this should be worth any concideration]

  3. In my opinion the tease so far is ok. We somehow already knew that UK Game Expo is not a place for Core Game Announcements and that new Battletomes aren´t coming as GW has some terrible issues with their logistics due to some legal stuff (see-> Sylvaneth Release outstanding). No reason to be disapointed so far. The Warcry-Warparty from Ulgu is quite cool, I really like these guys and think they will see a good amount of use in conversions

  4. I think that GW won´t give us news on a new battletome as Sylvaneth are still stuck in the Pipeline.

I guess we will have another Warcry Warband introduced, maybe the rumoured Shyish one with all these boney rumour engine bits.

Also I would rather expect a focus on Board Games. Last year we had the Warhammer Monopoly Preview iirc

  5. I have 9 Bloodcrushers here that I am currently moving onto oval bases. I am still thinking about how to use them in the best possible manner. The best Idea I had thus far is to go for Bloodtithe points and an enemy unit that is small enough to be stomped by charge and one turn of combat so I could charge in my enemies hero phase again. The big issue is to hit the BT Cap required fast enough. I tought about sending Skarbrand next to them: Locust and havoc as soon as he touches anything in CC should guarantee some more BT Points.

  6. Little question: Do I see it right that under Legion of Blood we can´t take Blood Knights as Battleline? Only as Soulblight? And if yes, is Soulblight an actual alternative to Legion of Blood? I am actually really confused why Soulblight exist when the Legion of Blood seems to be the Vampire Alligience, but then there is Soulblight too.

And also is Manfred in a Legion of Blood unfluffy? I mean yes, he has his own Alligience but he is still a Vampire, isn´t he? I am confused....is there some Lore background I don´t know for the split?

  7. I agree with the statement and would also add the omnipresence of "fights first" Abilities as another big issue.

GW gives us with the new tomes a bit too much goodstufftm which really causes a ton of issues. The game feels a bit overloaded with effects and it feels like those also never have any drawbacks. Also players who go with the fluff and not the crunch or just play older armies have a pretty frustrating time now. Also this pretty much narrows the listbuilding possibilities.

There is a lot of design ideas behind the game I really do not understand...

  8. Well, I didn´t tought so, but finaly I can contribute some real rumour stuff! I was talking to some of my local gw staff and they told me that there has to be some big release coming in June/July as there were some internal rulings which in general only apply before some really big releases like new edition releases. I do not know what this means exactly, maybe something holliday related or how many staff members are supposed to work at given times. The Staff-guys I talked to actually don´t have a clue what it is supposed to be. It could be something completly out of the blue, but also maybe "just" precaution to the Contrast Paint Release.

I tought a bit about what it may be and most propably we will get another Xpac for AoS as Forbidden Power was just a Tease and a two part campaign like the vigilius one is pretty likely. Another, althrough Tinfoilhat-based, theory, is that the Soul Wars may End quite soon or at least get a new major player in it. The absence of chaos is a nice thing to give Nagash and Death some stage time, but with Warcry and the Warqueen as Harbringer we also know that Chaos will take back it´s major role soon. Maybe really soon.

Well, it could also be just a 40k release.

  9. Well, back to rumours then I guess? This is actually really hard as we don´t have any~

    Spoiler

What do you all think about the current shipping delay of the Sylvaneth? I can easily imagine that Chinese/US Trade War got theit shipment stuck for the US Market. As releasing in the rest of the world earlier would lead to bad PR in the US and also "force" US customers to buy overseas to get their models and books earlier that would lead to loss in income as other shops would gain priority over the US market for this release.

I could imagine that GW wanted to show us a new AoS Faction on the Warhammer Fest but that management decided to stop that announcement as the current release pipeline is already stuck and they don´t know how long it may last. On the other hand it could be also possible that Sylvaneth were supposed to be the last faction before a Tome-Release-Break for the FP Expansion.

  10. Hi, welcome to the Slavs! Slaves!

Do yo already know about the Alligiences? It might be something you want to know before starting an army, especially when you concider mixing in some Beasts of Chaos like Bulls. Also there is a new Battletome coming soontm.

In general, StD are a quite defensive army. Chaos Warriors are great at tanking damage, especially with shields. They can be used as a nice anvil. Meanwhile our heroes are the ones with the great offensive potential. A Lord of Chaos has two weapons which one has a nice magical skill to make 2D6 Damage once a game. A Lord on Manticore can also wreck nice havoc. Also Deamonprinces are pretty mean things which have access to some nice god-depending abilities. This fits quite well to our Alligience which rewards you heroes for killing things in meele.

Beside of this core, we also have some nice buffs from the Shrine and the Sorcerer Lord. The latter one goes especially well with our Chaos Knights as it makes them tankier and also hit more reliable. You can use Knights either as a tarpit, especially good with swords, or a hammer unit to charge enemies down with their glaives and to wreck some serious havoc. A Lord on Daemonic Mount is a great substitute to them as it gives them a better chance for a charge and also improves their hit rolls. You can use some Gorebeast-Chariots for this tactic too, there is also a battatlion for this if I remember correctly. Meanwhile the Pony-Powered Chariots are great units to go for objectives on the board! They are cheap, fast and have also enough defensive potential to survive some shooting

Althrough StD aren´t a top tier class right now, they still make a lot of fun.

Can this be a thing? What do you think?

There seems to be a new death army coming, could it be a dead army from the "sea"??

The undead Pirate Faction from Total War Warhammer 2 got a lot of positive feedback and I could imagine GW is aware of this. Therefore I guess it is at least something the designers might concider one day, althrough I don´t know how soon.

The quoted piece you pasted really looks like a hint, especially as WarCom Articles really like to do so in exactly this way: Drop a bit of Lore-Rumours for a time before teasing anything.
I would yet be carefull if it is related to a GA Death Faction. Could be also a Stand Alone Kit like the Bugthing for 40k/Blackstone, a completely new faction for one of the other GA´s, an endless Spell, Vol II of Forbidden Power etc.

  12. Well, the paints are great. Althrough I don´t know at what project to apply them, one will come for sure.

Despite of having a new tool to utilize while painting, I also really really like the tough about seeing more painted armies at out LGS. Also beginner may feel much faster driven in as the bareer for painting models up got much smaller now. I mean this is such a great way to get rid of grey models fast. I wish I had this at hand some month´s ago. I´d could imagine using this just to delete my backlog faster

  13. Althrough it´s a pitty that we don´t know the next BT, I think that this is not a bad thing. Time goes by so fast that the next announcement will come like in 2 weeks anyway. It still feels like just a week ago that we´ve heard first time about Fyreslayers, and now we have them on boards and even the new Sylvaneth Box released. Yeah, I would´ve loved to hear about the new Darkoath Book, but yet we´ve seen so much cool stuff today.

The new paints are a great addition that will hopefully reduce the grey-plastic-issue a lot of us have. This will benefit the community in general.
The 40k releases were great, too. Althrough I feel a little pinch of envy as the new Chaos Knights have way cooler legs than the loyal ones. Obligatory Primaris Release seems also like a great way to overcompensate certain things by adding a new gun to them.

I really like the design of the Serpent Ghyran Chaos Warriors for Warcry. Althrough I am still confused about how this will work with the new Darkoath/Slaves-Tome, I am relieft that there is finally a subgroup of them which I don´t dislike from their design. I mean, that two-snake-dude is awesome!

  14. About the two GHB, I habe a wild speculation. I do not wan´t to creaty any wrong expectations, but:

The Point Values is one of the thin Handouts/Pamphlets. I could imagine we can get theese for free at out local GW just like the Rules for 40k or AoS (at least as it was in the last edition). This would let the GHB be not necessary to get the updates, and therefore it would allow GW to put more content in it to make the book of a higher value for players. Also Point Values could be therefore changed in a higher pace than once a year.

The fact, that it would mean higher costs for GW, is the main argument against my crazy theory

  15. As they dropped thge first Forbidden Power Short, I am quite sure we will get more on this topic. I also expect that the hinted 40k stuff, the Chaos Knights and Admech Transports, will be introduced. For AoS I guess the next book(s) after Sylvaneth may be announced.

So far on the List remain:
-Ogors (BCR and Gutbusters + Subfactions. Merge into one maybe? Or several books)
    -Savage Orruks
    -Ironjaws
    -Tzeentch
-StD (Big Release to be expected, althrough the relation to Warcry is unknown)
-Free People / Aelf Tomes (no one knows what to be expected and when, but at gw´s current release politic we can get them either soon or never or anything in between)
    -Vanilla Dwarfs
-Kharadrons maybe, too? I don´t know how much 2.0 the current tome is
    -Seraphon

We also do not know if, and which, new factions are to be expected. Despite of Aelves, which are rumoured since ages, we do not have any clue what may be a new next faction. If any, as GW seemed a bit underwhelmed by Idoneth Deepkin Sales from what I understood

  16. I wonder if the Tree is an endless Spell or Scenery. If Scenery, I really would like to know what will happen with the current one. Also: Whats with the other Endless Spells? Or are there maybe only two because of the sheer size?

As Overread stated: Another new Battletomes would be nice to be hinted this weekend. Althrough I am so far mixed on expectations on the Slaves to Darkness as I really do not like that "Overly Man Man-Barbarians. In my taste every second sculpt just looks silly which is weird as the Bloodbound Berserker don´t look silly at all to me but thats taste. I hope for some less weird ****** hairdresses and more heavy plated warriors as StD should actually be 😮 But as this whole "Last Harbringer" thing is currently well hidden by gw we will have to wait

  17. Small little question: Has there been someone who tried to max out spells that give us a wound reflection with SCE? Like Azyrite Halo + Shield of Thorns of allied Sisters of the Thorn? This together with Staunch Defender, Save Reroll on Sequitors and a Lord Castellant sounds pretty interesting to me. A Staff of Azyr could be used to improve the longlivity of our caster. The big issue so far is the dependance on good casting rolls to keep the trick working.
