  1. Here's a scenario where the tome shines: cast it with Kairos in host arcanum, getting a total of +9 extra inches (3" for the tome and 6" for the extra move given by that coven). Now you can snipe with 6 flat MW a key support hero within 27" in sight. When you roll for casting, you can reroll results which doesn't show any 6s or double 1s, giving the spell a 55% chance of being unstoppable.

Yeah I proposed a list like that awhile back after speaking about it on Discord.. might be one of the most oppressive/easy win lists in the game. Also means not many people would actually make any attempt at doing it IRL because of the amount of models you would require.

I played it just once last year when the new tome came out , the game took 5 hours so not doable in tornaments but great fun. My opponent skipped the movement phase from turn 2 onwards.

Try Multitoudinous host deploying 40 pinks like this, then casting pendulum where the arrow stands, regrowing units with 1s on BS, lifeswarm and batallion ability. GG

If I may share a random Tzeentch-related thought observation:

Is it me, or are the Horrors an insidiously costly unit? Real money-wise?

I mean, they have this "split into two lesser daemons when killed" ability. Which seems very fun :) But it means that, for every box of Pink Horrors, you need also to buy two boxes of Blue Horrors. Because every Pink Horror killed will turn into two Blue Horrors... Thankfully, Brimstone Horrors are included in the appropriate number in the Blue Horrors box - otherwise, it would mean you'd need to buy two boxes of those, too!

Overall, if we go by GW's officials prices, you'd need to pay 75 GBP to field 10 Pink Horrors. Quite a lot of money for a unit of 10 smallish critters...

Or am I missing something here?

GW says that you  are not forced into buying blues/brims, just use the "petty vengeance" rule (5+ MW when removing a pink). GW also knows you won't

Going to a 2.5K event in a few months.  Definitely more "funsies" so no Changehost.  I think the Pinks might be better 20-20-10-10?  I want them as wizards w over 20 models for the +1 for as long as possible, but if I split them up and drop a unit of Brimms I can pick up another 60 points for an endless spell.  I'm wondering if I should try to work Bridge into the list?  Thoughts on just 20-20-20 Pinks?

in my similar 2k list I snucked in a pendulum for a turn 1 shananigans, generating averagely 28 blues to be' brought back via lifeswarm, DD 1 on BS and the batallion ability. seen the great amount of wizards and endlesses, darkfire demonrift is a must too imo

And probably wasn't intented at the beggining ><. But at least it's clear now.

it worked in the previous tone and it still worked with the new one. then they oversaw the BS immunity shenanigans and put a patch in the wrong way ( instead of modifying the wording in the core rules about BS and modifiers), this way overnerfing horrors survivability. now we need to roll a natural 1 to bring back horrors IF we have the chance to , before they get down ro blues only, so from 0 to 1 time a game

Am I missing something or can Changehost lists just lock an entire army into dealing with 150-200 wounds of horrors before they can leave their deployment zone and contest objectives?

    Seems bonkers

my first game with new book was testing changehost+host duplicitous. I tool turn one , teleported 20+10 pinks in Front of 1 unit of gore gruntas and 1 unit of 30 arboyz, then I shot and charged using dd. the plan was to pin them there . at the start of my second turn both my units were wiped out

Yea this was the list I was concerned about, and yes this is a major issue of balance from what myself and at least two other people in my game store has thought about.  This is the kind of list that could just kill the game from what I have seen, and kinda makes me pessimistic for AoS. But, the sky hasn't fallen yet, and I didn't build / paint 2,500 points of idoneth just to give up now.  At least this could deal with the Petrifax elite problem people have been having, but from what I see I don't know if there is a counter to this.

Kinda makes me wonder how this made it past the play testers. Everything in the book seems at least passable, but this seems like the sky is actually falling.

tried this list and found quite a few issues that math can't include. Main problem is that you need to keep at least  31 model whilly within the 9 " bubble for +1 to w . then when pinks double up i n size this become even harder.  if tou decide to split up your army in  2 separate forces, they will sub perform for lack of buffs, so you are forced to keep the big 1300pts bubble in one spot. now, in battleplans with many objectives like scorched earth where you have to spread out, this is a big issue, expecially against armies with great movement or teleports. So, in conclusion, the dmg threat is real, but not unbeatable if the opponent or the plan force a split

I think it would be 300 but looking at it I think they'd lose the option to be battleline listening to the guerilla miniature's guy.

the wording is clear: Horrors are battleline if they contain no blues/brims. Also they cost 100 only  if they contain no pinks

The list I'm looking at is guild of summoners with change host

    Guild of summoners

    LoC general + feather charm

    Fate skimmer

    Fluxmaster

    Changecaster

    Changecaster

    10pinks +10blues

    10 pink horrors

    10 pink horrors

    10 brimstones

    Purple sun

    Pendulum

    Gravetide

    Bale wind vortex

    1990

Debating swapping grave tide for burning head for the reroll 1s aura as the Pink's.might be enough of a wall. Both do about the same damage otherwise.

2070 points according to my rusty math. I think a unit of 20 horrors costs 400 points if there are 19 brimstones + 1 pink
