  1. There should definitely be adverts on the site. As others have said this is probably one of the (if not the) biggest and best AOS forum(s) out there. It shouldnt cost a penny to run and should in fact generate revenue due to this. 

    Subscription is a good idea but ad revenue is an obvious choice. 

    My one and only criticism is that the ads seem to be effecting the way the site actually works. Go to a new page and it wont load at all, freezing with a loading sign and nothing else but an advert.  You have to refresh to get it to work. I dont believe that is intended and I'm sure it will be fixed quickly enough. Growing pains basically from doing something new and in a week we will be back to focusing on grumbling about battletomes and Op models.

  2. Elegant, simple, intuitive, forward thinking and adjustable. 

    Very little chance at all GW will do it because they believe the vast majority of the players wouldn't think of min/maxing lists outside of a tiny handful of tournament players.  

    Barely needs to be said that this isnt the case and that the vast majority of people will go for the obviously much more powerful option even if they dont completely maximise the list tournament style.

    A few pages back there was a long discussion about lore and whether they are remembered or spawned or a bit of both. I'd love to see the remembering put into practice on a super powerful Slan. When it takes wounds it gets bracketed like a monster but instead of having less attacks or damage it forgets and a unit(s) in the army lose models that were forgotten.

    Not gonna do a full report as I don't have much time, but I ran a 6 Fiend, 60 Clanrats and 2 WLC's under double Arkhspark with an AW, 2 Engineers and WLV + Bridge + Vermintide. My opponent ran Winterleaf and it was definitely his best choice to date. Total Conquest. I had priority choice so I opted to let him go first after pre-measuring everything out. Long story short, I played heavily for the double turn and while WLV + 1 WLC killed his Drycha and put 5 on his TLA the woods prevented the Ratlings from having any targets and the Windlaunchers only managed to get 4 through on a Wych.

    I lost the priority roll, he teleported his 6 Kurnoths 9" away (I premeasured 13" to keep them out of range, but failed to remember that the woods near the Fiends would allow them to teleport closer) they made the charge and that was it; all his hits explode on 6's and he had a OPG double pile-in ability and nothing can stand up to that many -2 rend d3 damage hits. I banked on the double which is something I rarely do and lost.. but it was entirely my fault as I played way to aggressively and didn't screen my Fiends. Total Conquest is something you can easily wait out until late game to win on so I really should've just held back, baited out the Spites + Kurnoths and them remove them with all my available shooting and then pushed out of my deployment by T3.

    Anyway, I'll try the list again as the WLC's didn't have a proper chance to shoot at anything thanks to his woods placement; that -1 to the power roll is definitely great as it pretty much turned my 2 MW's into 5 MW's when one of them shot off the Drycha. Next Saturday is our monthly "tournament" and I'll likely run the same thing to see how it does.. Sunday however I'll probably try something different. Gotta get the Skaven games in before I start playing Tzeentch for awhile 😅

    Wait, am I being dumb or can you not take skryre battalions if you have clan rats in your list? I thought you had to be pure 1 clan to get battleline and use the battalions?

    Ive finished painting my first 1000 points of moulder and am having second thoughts on my 2000 point list.  I feel like an endless spell would be nice for some board control.  As well, i am wondering if the verminlord is as useful at 320 as he is now.  Any thoughts are appreciated...knowing i will struggle with this list more than a mixed clan list.  Also wondering about units and sizes...maybe im better off with a bigger ogre unit but am concerned with board coverage as well.   Only so many choices with moulder and maybe im getting too stuck in the minor details.  I play some tough armies and want to do the best i can with the tools available....

    I would bump one of the rat ogre units up to 6 and drop the rest. I have fpund it gives you more punch and survivability. That gives you 100pts to spend on spells. Vermintide, palisade , geminids, pendulum are all solid options. Think less damage and more board control to allow your rats to flood objectives.

    99% of the AOS players would be thankful if the Stormcast don't get anything new for the next 10 years. Just updating the books for the other factions is not cutting it.

    Stormcast sell well and are the poster boys of AOS so they will be updated. I will eat my shoe if only 1% of players use Stormcast. Its probably more like 50% of people have some from starter sets and at least 25% of all players might be stormcast (tournament entries are not representative of the player base). Look at these forums for example. Over 7,500 posts on the main stormcast AOS 2.0 board alone which is more than FEC, HOS, and DOK put together and they are the tournament hotness. 

    If the ratios were lower it also wouldn't be in their interest to release all the unique stormcast characters. 

    You might hate them or be annoyed that your army wont get the same focus but Stormcast will get regular updates pretty much forever just like Space marines.

    Of course! I forgot that. So 40 with blades are kicking out 3at on the charge 2+, 3+. That is still very good.

    Rend and extra damage gone, rerolls with blades out and changed to 3+ to hit instead of 4+. 

    New add in is extra wound for each wound roll of 6.

    Weapon choices changed so you can only have blades or staves (that will upset a lot of people with monks built with both)

    Staves +1 attack

    Standard bearers and harbringers changed to 1 in 10 from 1 in 20. 

    This will certainly be different (and quicker) to play. The unit is still very powerful but now good in smaller units of 20 rather than blocks of 40.

    I think this is quite well thought out rather than a complete points nerf which would have killed of clan pestilence armies. 

    I am sure some clever Rat will do the math on the damage output changes but maybe 20-25%?

    I have had some success with units of 6 rat ogres and a master moulder close by. Their save is poor but they pack a nice punch. That is 400pts with the MM though and they really arnt worth taking in smaller units.

    I wonder if it could mean we start seeing the return of big Acolyte blocks (even with their now 100% confirmed 32mm bases) accompanied by 9-12 Jezzails or 6 Fiends? I don't see taking split Fiends in 1x6 and 1x3 or 2x6, but I could be wrong. 

    Would they really incentivise Acolytes when everyone still converts them up? Or is there a possible top up release on the horizon? Acolytes, a weapon teams kit and some real Eshin.

Practically my whole collection on the table and despite the fact I don't have any verminlords and my plague monks are still in a box I managed to chew chew chew through most of his army including taking down 4 bloodthirsters (including Skarbrand).

  14. Forgive the probably obvious question but can I use Skratchnik's Warpcoven from the carrion empire box in matchplay and if so can I use it with a mixed skaventide list rather than Skryre list? I suspect the answer to both is no but worth a go.

    At the same time GW could rule the other way and say that its very much intended to be the case. Either way I would recommend emailing GW with this question. The more people that email them this question (individual people not you spamming their inbox with 30 messages) the more chance there is that GW will address it in the FAQ that will likely be released in about 2 weeks time. 

    I know there is a whole thread on GW rule writing and this isnt a rant but it does puzzle me how this happens. They must proof read the books multiple times and they have to known people look out for inconsistencies like this and spamming the cavalry command ability. An afternoon  in the hands of a tournament player and they could come back to the rules team with a list of obvious inconsistencies like this they could clarify before print.

    Two catapults shooting the standard ammo have 6 shots on 2+, 3+. That averages out to 3.33 saves to make. If a 5 wound hero fails one he dies. If most other characters fail 2 they die. Some heroes can take 10 damage but  not many. They can also go for elite units that tend to be strong but low in numbers. Yes they have no rend but each save roll is real jeopardy. The range is also a thing. 36" is ridiculous and can pretty much reach the entire board, 12 wounds takes a huge amount of chewing through.

    Yes the special shots are strong and situational but the standard shooting is exceptional.

  18. I played a 1,000pt game recently where I had this:

    Gotrek

    Lord Celestant

    3X Palladors

    5 Liberators

    5 Liberators

    Played v ironjaws so we were always going to get into a fight. What i didnt realise until he was on the table is that Gotrek creates a significant fear factor for your opponent. They don't want to go anywhere near him. When he did get into combat he killed 10 brutes in one go and the rest of the battle my opponent moved everything away from him (i ran Gitrek every time inviti g a charge) rather than get close.  I should have taken a wizard though as the greenie player teleported his other units all around the place and i lost because it was the battleplan where if you control 2 you instawin.

    I was surprised last week when I read this leak. The choice of Stormcast is obvious (as the 2 space marine are) , gloomspite is ok, but skaven?  nighthaunt? I thought that they at least put a CoS box with so many possibilities (or an orruk) . Skaven have already 2 SC! and NH have the starter. Strange choice of army boxes. 

    On the other hand I guessed the 40k ones. So no surprise here.

    Skaven only have 1 sc and it only includes battleline troops for clan pestilens. Granted the war machines have alt builds but you cant really start an army from it unless you go thay way or buy clanrats seperately.

    Its a good box but not representitive of the faction
