  1. There's a lot I really like about the Stormcast 3.0 tome.

You get your army, then you get either Stormkeep or Stormhost, which then allows you two viable "avenues" for building your army. From there, you get access to a host of choices, beginning with souping Stormcast & Cities, or maintaining a "pure" army of knights (which, now that we've had some time to see lists develop post-release, have quite a bit of variety to pull from, some examples being, dragon-heavy lists, Stormcast shooting lists, paladin-heavy lists, alpha-strike focused lists, etc).

The Orruk book, meanwhile, was a little lackluster, especially so, given my excitement for that book going into 3.0. An entire subfaction (Bonesplitterz) was horribly nerfed, while Kruleboyz came out just ok, in comparison to the Ironjawz, who received not a single new model, but did get their rules cranked up to 11. Overall, in comparison to the Stormcast, they just come off feeling like a 2nd-rate book, with too much inconsistency throughout. Not bad, mind you, but more problematic in ways we shouldn't be seeing 3-editions in.

  2. I love love love all of these developments. Death actually suffering a catastrophic defeat, Order triumphing thoroughly, rather than (another) pyric victory is a great swerve from what I would have expected, and people, let's all keep in mind that this book is focused on the Aelves, and the previous book had two very big W's for evil, with Morathi ****** over Sigmar and seizing both her own fortress and her long-dreamed of divinity, while simultaneously Chaos saw a huge development in Slaanesh breaking free from it's constraints.

I'm  super excited to see the story develop further for AOS, and as a diehard 40k player that's really saying something.

  3. Hey all -

Don't know if anyone commented on this yet, but if you go to the youtube video for the new "Steampunk" dwarves, there is another piece of art at the start of the video. It shows a dwarf fleet engaging some kind of multi-tentacled entity rising from the clouds/water. Nothing much to go on, but with all the rumors of "Deep-One" style elves, this could be another sign of their imminent release.

  4. 1. Completely overhaul Path  to Glory - perhaps even use Bottle's template for Hinterlands campaign. Make this the definitive "Beginners Format". Keep to small model count (again, Bottle's campaign rarely goes beyond 10 models per side, which is perfect for learning each individual model's abilities, usefulness, etc.).

    2. Add artifacts/command traits/bonuses for playing the Grand Alliances. Make them less competitive overall than individual Battletome - focus on these should be to differentiate the four Grand Alliances (i.e. Death should have recyling, Destruction speed, Chaos and Order buffs vs one another)

    3. Lore - Add some lore development to the book, perhaps even a narrative to frame each section that tells a full story. The GH should be the introduction to the Warhammer : Age of Sigmar world. The lore is an important part of that.

    4. Develop a more in-depth narrative/map campaign for use. This could be changed each year to provide content for customers buying new editions (going off this, perhaps change up all included scenarios and even matched play rules, giving new formats/game modes a chance each year).

    5. Keep to the 4 rules concept (Keep it simple, stupid).

    6. Personal opinion on this last point, but I would like to perhaps see a retrospective feature added - detailing the previous year for Age of Sigmar and perhaps offering a preview of the year ahead. Developers/creators could comment on the game, and explain their overarching vision for the year ahead. Could also have community highlights and such - again, not sure this fits, but it's something that I would enjoy reading.

  5. Don't think it was mentioned yet @Chris Tomlin but I'm not sure you can use the artifacts or any of the "Destruction" special rules unless you're running the army as "Destruction". Since you used Ironjawz models as your battleline, that would cut you off from taking the artifacts and such. Not positive if I'm reading the rules correctly though, so feel free to disregard/attack me viciously if I'm mistaken.
