  1. In fairness GW didnt reveal the new Tzeentch daemons when they released the Thousand Sons armylist in Wrath of Magnus. Old models for Lord of Chamge and Changeling were pictured, and only Silver Tower Blue and Brimstone Horrors were used. Despite the whole updated range being released only two months later! So there is hope for Nurgle daemons yet!
  2. I just want to see the scourge airships teased in Shadows over Hammerhal! Altho to be fair at this point id take anything, what are we 5 months since the last battletome release!?
  3. It doesnt appear to from the pics ive seen of Naeve. So primarch or white lion rumours are still in play! Im still betting on Scourge Privateers for aelves!
  4. I would hope new battletomes have lists both of who can faction can ally with, and who can take them as allies. That would be cleanest i think.
  5. Eeeee, i would argue that Dracothion is the new Seraphon god, but either way that nobbles my theory cos they didnt get any new models!
  6. Just to clarify, there is no Rotbringers Allegiance. Blightkings are now battleline if the army has Nurgle Allegiance. So mix daemons, rotbringers amd slave to darkness with keyword Nurgle to your heart's content! On Death, GW will eventually get around to something for them, but i think we should bear in mind that just because they're a Grand Alliance doesnt mean they will get anything brand new ahead of other races like aelves and skaven. I have an old theory that GW are releasing new ranges to match the gods of AoS, so Stormcasts for Sigmar, Fyreslayers for Grimnir, Kharadrons for Grungni, Sylvaneth for Allarielle, Ironjaws for Gorkamorka, Everchosen for Archaon, Bloodbound for Khorne and Arcanites for Tzeentch. There have been no brand new models for other factions except Tzeentch Daemons, random Silver Tower stuff, and now Slimux. That leaves new/expanded ranges for Nurgle, Malerion and Nagash (all strongly rumoured) with Horned Rat, Slaanesh and Tyrion to follow a year or two later. Its not perfect, but I think it makes sense of how and why theyve chosen their brand new ranges.
  7. Thats a tricky one as there is technically no allegiance for either daemons of nurgle or rotbringers, you would take Nurgle allegiance in which both those factions and marked slaves to darkness can mix together freely, not requiring allies rules. Would be nice if gw would hurry up and release full allegiance abilities for nurgle so there would be some point to this!!
  8. Im also beginning to think shadespire might be it for AoS this year. GW have previewed a heck of a lot of stuff to come out by christmas and im not sure a full nurgle AoS release would even fit in... However, earlier in the year there were NO previews of the new tzeentch daemons until the Disciples of Tzeentch book was released, with ALL the new daemon releases going on sale on the same day soon after... so theres at least a precedent that could be followed! Fingers crossed!
  9. It looks like contextually the battle trait is just to use with the scenarios on blightwar. I seriously hope they put out a battletome soon to just get nurgle done!!
  10. Review of Blightwar i just read say the only Allegiance Ability rules in the book are the Stormcast and Nurgle battle traits. No command traits, artefacts, spells or prayers. I am a bit frustrated by this release - its basically a tease of new models, rules and fluff without any actual meat. Good if you want all the models but frankly it feels like filler in between primaris releases (6th different box with intercessors in goes up for preorder on saturday...)
  11. Woohoo, bye Sayl, you will not be missed! Fantastic job by GW to sync all this with the ghb2 launch!
  12. Its only matched play that prohibits you allying orruls with duardin or whatever you like! It was only acouple of months ago the battle report in white dwarf was ironjaws and rotbringers vs fyreslayers and kharadrons. In any game of triumph and treachery i'd expect to see any number of unlikely alliances (along with the inevitable betrayals of course!) For the most part GW wants you to be able to play with whatever mix of models you want. Its only in matched play that this is limited to being from one of 4 grand alliances. Viva diversity and all that!
  13. Realistically the new GHB should spoil all the new nurgle units, like the last one did for sylvaneth, bonesplitterz and beastclaws. So preview of nurgle release next week!
  14. Chosen Champion = Lord Commander... or maybe its time Sigmar himself joined the fray!
  15. Now were talking! Good to see proof at last that GHB isnt all they have in store for us for the rest of the year! Praise to the Grandfather!
  16. I imagine as soon as a new Seraphon book comes out (with no new models of course), GW will change their design paradigm again with the next Stormcast book a month or so later. Or release a new edition. All things theyve done before!
  17. GW are nothing if not unpredictable and inconsistent! Despite the moans about possible new stormcasts because they have however many kits already, GW just released a brand new range of space marines, which i cant believe anyone was crying out for, but i do believe will sell like hot cakes. Expect more stormcasts! Definitely expect a nurgle book, probably around october if Death Guard are in sept. Absence from the GHB also suggests a deathrattle and aelf book coming up - my money is currently on scourge privateers getting a massive revamp. So Deathless Minions is now soulblight only and can not be improved to 5+! Cue wailing and gnashing of teeth (appropriate for death). Marauder min unit size is 10, suggesting worries about all horde units going to min 20 are unfounded. Lastly, on the new army book discussion, gw did indeed announce their plan to release codexes quickly after the index books, however doesn't change the end result - they are still not getting my money for codexes which i believe offer little value AND devalue products ive just bought! 18 months between the 1st and 2nd editions of the Stormcast and Khorne books is just about tolerable, but if that became standard practice for all factions i would stop buying all the battletomes!
  18. True, but its a slippery slope from there. AoS i think is ok currently, but in 40k im not gonna buy the new codexes as to me they look like basically the same fluff with new bits tacked on, tweaked datasheets and points that i only just paid for in the indexes, and stratagems which look awesome but not enough for me to shell out 80 quid this month on getting up to date. I think its fair to be concerned about the battletomes going down this path. As well as points, the big Path to Glory sections in the last 4 battletomes have also been invalidated recently... thats a lot of pages that could have been used for other stuff (id have preferred more fluff to contextualise the battleplans).
  19. Valid point, however the downside for gw in devaluing their print products is that i (and perhaps others) wont buy them. The AoS campaign books are pretty good but in my view ludicrously overpriced, so i borrowed them to read rather than buy them. With the prices GW charge for their books, they could easily lose a couple of hundreds pounds of revenue in a year just from me if i dont think im getting value for money... its a fine line to tread!
  20. Ill be interested to see if Kharadrons and Khorne also get points changes. If theyre going to invalidate books ive paid a lot of money for within 6 months id rather they dont put points in there at all and give another page of fluff. I think im finally sold on the idea of just hosting points values on the app or web store, so they can be updated without invalidating recent battletomes - this issue is magnified in 40k where my £75 of index books i bought less than 2 months ago are rapidly becoming worthless. I would be up for paying a subscription to have access to points, and i imagine the competitive herd could be convinced to buy in (to be fair i dont know anyone except me who is annoyed by too frequent faqs and points changes!)
  21. Sweet merciful jeebus all those boxed sets are beautiful - as if i need more to add to my buy list! Wonder if theyll be different prices or set at £40 or £50? Just the bullgor one id buy 3 of without blinking!
  22. Tzeentch release was Thousand Sons in December, Arcanites in January and Daemons in early February, i'd love to see something similar for Nurgle. Fortunately we have that rumour engine pic of scuttly legs which are revealed to be on some big nurgle daemon beast in a 40k art piece, which means new daemons all but guaranteed. Couple with nurgles conspicuous absence from the new handbook and id say its good odds on a book at least for AoS!
  23. I was under the impression Warrior Brotherhood no longer exists as its not in the latest SE matched play list? Ive found the Hammerstrike ability to deep strike right into combat very useful!
