I know it's probably in their interest to not promote the work as being by individual designers but when theyre revealing stuff like this they should really be like OK GET READY WE'VE GOT A LOUISE SUGDEN ONE COMING FOLKS ITS GONNA BE LIT

New snotling pump wagon...we thought this day would never come

Wow where did that come from?! Those models are killer. Nice to see the Mistweaver aesthetic finally get some more play

there is an obr army? i missed that
At the bottom right of p1 of the AOS Armies folder
This is pretty ingenious! Thanks for taking the time to do the installer and guide meermouse.
Might be tempted to keep it for small games to minimise the admin, but it's very flexible. Its not gonna take 20 minutes to get your damn pink horrors out for one thing, and they even fall from the sky in a vaguely thematic way
Folks, remember to order any models you use in this simulation from your friendly local still-doing-mail-order games store IRL!

The physical stuff turns up a completely unpredictable time after the PDF anyway, so people were going to have to make do with PDF for a fair while anyway
(I haven't had the Enemy Within in physical yet and the PDF came out end of last year)

One vote here for "Malekith should still be stuck in his old armour, and also he should still be the same height he was in the Old World, so next to his mom and Teclis he's comically small and his voice is really squeaky"

"This set contains fully customisable kits that let you build 10 Auralan Wardens and 5 Vanari Dawnriders, plus The Light of Eltharion, giving you a great base to which you can add more troops – or walking mountains, if they’re your thing!"
Not a cow fan but 👏👏👏 at how diplomatically worded this is
Interested to hear about the customisation options - spare or helmetless head options etc would be great
They can 100% have my money for that box anyway, one day

Stoked for GW to reveal the most boilerplate no-frills High Elf Blood Bowl team imaginable and be like WHAT? WHAT? at the camera

Oh the scions are magnificent, wow

The hammer infantry look like they'll be fun to paint, lots of good possible schemes there. I'll be tempted to remove the bull heads though, I can't stop wincing in sympathy for the obvious blinding neck pain when I look at them

Right, but I think it would be an important element to the OW game to tone these fantasy elements down (and the historical bits up) to make it more different/unique in style and flavour.
I am probably guilty to see my version of the old world as the true version... if I don't like the ice stuff (because it doesn't fit with my interpretation of the background materials of the old world), I can convert it on the miniatures and ignore/bend it on the background. Can't wait to see if in the distant future the WF-roleplaying game is influenced by the new stuff they are creating at GW.
I think WFRP 4e did a fairly good job of maintaining the grimy atmosphere of the old game while updating it to include the mandatory modern stuff like Karlfranz having a griffon and there being eight colleges of magic etc
Buuuut, so many people have left the team that worked on the bulk of it that I'm a little concerned they won't even finish their rewriting of the Enemy Within (which AFAIK doesn't include the old Kislev bit), before they ever get to fleshing out more neglected areas of the Old World and beyond
This Old World stuff should at the very least provide a lot of inspiration for cross-pollination and fan made material tho

I admire her restraint in posting just a teaser of the little Tzeentch logo and then nothing on her Insta until bam, the full model was unleashed, none of that "here is a photo of a grey unprimed model I just bought followed by eight weeks of updates on the NMM taking shape on the left kneepad" - please do not make me hate the sight of your miniatures almost as much as I hate the sight of mine!!

Louise Sugden should paint every model and be put in charge of all official colour schemes. Really should be no question about it.
cant wait to get this model myself (& then leave it unbuilt on a shelf for 6 months before making it look like an ill looking animal that has been left Unloved and unclaimed in a rescue shelter for 5+ years)
She's the best, her Instagram is a constant delight

They could potentially jump the timeline ahead at some point, introducing rules for human wizards and cannons etc in subsequent supplements

At the time of the first game's release the total war launcher had a banner saying "you've played the game, now collect the miniatures". Of course anyone clicking it was taken to a near -incomprehensible list of AOS subfactions with about three model kits in each ¯\(°_o)/¯
Total Warhammer has bridged the gap a bit to a potential AOS version in terms of the battle mechanics adding in more heroic fantasy stuff, but the campaign/map stuff isn't a good fit for aos at all imo

I loved Geokenisis for space marines in 7th edition 40k. I would love for some abilities like that. My favorite was called " Shifting Worldscape" being able to pick up and redeploy a terrain feature doing damage to units that were inside the terrain as you move it across the board. Anything less than this and i will be disappointed. Imagine being able to redeploy enemy faction specific terrain?
High Magic actually had a "move a hill with devastating conseqences" spell in WHFB

Halflings (I know they're not a faction)
A big sandwich that snaps open and closed like an angry mouth. It would be called The Ironic Sandwich
Spirit of Baconbreath: a life-sized ethereal outline representing the spiritual essence of the departed Halfling Blood Bowl player Puggy Baconbreath haltingly scampers through an enemy unit within 3" of the caster. Roll a dice. On a roll of 6 or more, that unit suffers a Mortal wound if a subsequent second dice roll is also a 6. Then roll a dice. On a roll of 4 or more, that Mortal wound is ignored.

Is that Tyrion in the picture with Teclis, with the wings and the blind eyes and the (?)no arms?
-
Feel like by late Spring my Instagram feed is going to be wall to wall insane paintjobs of that Teclis mini and I'm looking forward to it
In terms of core units they've basically just revealed the silver helm and spearman successors, would think there's quite a lot of more outlandish stuff to come
Would love some dynamic floaty swordmaster/loremaster types with kairic acolyte/pink horror style gang wizard rules and arrows being deflected mid-air by the swords

I guess it's just a practical consideration, if they didn't have resource to produce fully redone Chaos Warriors with all three weapon combinations, and also Chosen, there was no point having the one new set look gigantic or majorly aesthetically different compared to the old ones they sold/are still selling in a Battleforce box
The fluff has always been like "if you run into a chaos warrior it's game over man"; in Vermintide they're basically giants and killing one of them takes a fair while

I think if it turned out to be Warmaster scale a lot of people would be mad, and also confused about why GW did marketing around the return of square bases to then introduce a game with mostly rectangular bases with a bunch of minis stuck to each one
I mean a lot of people will be mad whatever happens, but I don't think they'd want to self-inflict the injury in that way

I love how the team box comes with the pump wagon because there's 0 chance of them not being 5-0 down and all dead by half time without it
