Playing this tonight at 9pm EST on stream
Very similar list to what I am planning (just have a GK included as well for the extra attack spell) - what are your findings after the game? Anything you'd change?

So how good does FEC look?
Verdict is still out, I guess. Lots of people like them, some find them too one-dimensional. Definitely super aggressive, so that playstyle has to suit you.

129 EUR for the Maggotkin. Not too shabby.

I think it will be viable to go all monsters just because the gristlegore traits are just that good.
I don't think so, 'cause hordes are just too powerful in 2.0. I can't see unridden TGs and ZDs making enough of a dent before being overcome. And every unridden monster cuts down on your ridden mounts, which I think are much more viable.
But it'll be intersting to see them on the table every so often.

No it didn’t... this is Benjamin’s List, UK masters was won with a Beasts of Chaos list by Dan Bradshaw.
My bad. Do you happen to have the complete list of results of the Masters?

After listening to a podcast about comp. FeC
Well, if I listened to the same podcast, those guys thought the ZD was much better than the TG.
I think they're selling the Flayers short.- 1

I am so disappointed
I've been playing GW games for 25+ years, and one thing that I learned over all the years: if there's something really powerful in a book, it'll get nerfed into the ground in the next edition.
This definitely applies to Ghoul Patrol.
But there's lots of other yummy stuff in the new tome. We'll all find something else to exploit.- 2

What’s the most competitive way to run nighthaunts for bigger tournaments like adepticon, BAO, and wargamescon
Well, this list just won the UK Masters:
Vampire Lord - Mount: Flying Horror
Knight of Shrouds
Tomb Banshee - Pendant of the Fell Wind
Guardian of Souls with Nightmare Lantern
Soul Cage - Wychlight Lantern
Dreadblade Harrow
General Ruler of the Spirit Hosts - Aetherquartz Brooch
2 x 20 Chainrasp Horde
10 Chainrasp Horde
2 x 5 Dreadscythe Harridans
2 x 12 Myrmourn Banshees
Chainguard - Shrieker Host
Chronomantic Cogs - Prismatic Palisade
Total: 1930 - Command Points: 3 - Mortal Realm: Hysh -
You could take GK on TG or ZD, and 3 TGs/ZDs as battleline, all in Gristlegore. You can fit in the Chalice, too. Will make for quick, brutal games.

Would you include a 20 man unit of Executioners (for 320 points) in your 2000 point DoK roster?
I wouldn't, and the answer is actually already there:
19 minutes ago, Kaleun said:because they are actually open for the allegiance abilities and buffs of the daughters of Khaine which are great.
DoK are basically made by all the synergies. I see no reason to water that down.

Actually I‘d rather put a +1 dmg artefact on my archregent (7 attacks at 2 dmg are brutal)
I think that in most cases that's going to be a bit of a waste. Normally, your AR will stay back first turn to sit on the throne, and then it'll be a while till he can join the fray. If you only have one, you mightn't even want him IN the fray, for fear of losing his nasty spell.
I'd rather take stuff to buff my frontline stuff, e.g. Terrorgheists.

I'd actually consider taking a corpse cart and a mortis engine for 260p instead.
That sure is another viable way of upping the casting, but it'll quite difficult for any fighty character to stay within range of those two, especially the cart. Arkhan is just more independent.

you can make a GK +2
Yes, but Arkhan can then cast all spells with the buff.
*shrug*
It's a matter of preference. Arkhan is basically the same for old and new FEC, and he was frequently found in Monster Mash lists. I don't see a particular reason why that would change (to the contrary, we got an even more powerful spell now that we really want to get off), so make of that what you will.- 1

I don't really see a point in taking any allies since you want to use all the internal FEC synergy,
Arkhan will still be a really strong ally to make sure we get all our juicy spells off ...

and they have the bonus of being 40 strong instead
But not if everybody brings them in via the Archregent.
For exaample, neither of the lists you suggested has room for a unit of 40 ghouls, and since the info on the new book droped, NONE of the lists suggested had. There is some really powerful stuff in the book, but it's difficult to pile in the various tricks (unlike in DoK), so while I think the book will be strong, most strong armies coming out of it will be a bit of a one-trick-pony. And that makes it slightly vulnerable.

Still the Dragonblades, I'm afraid.

Yeah sorry about that,
Don't worry, this was not meant to be a dig - like I said, we are grateful for what we have thanks to that file.

Yeah, I have that pastebin info, too, and it's great to have it, but it is lacking in some areas.

Oh, that would be nice!

Can somebody tell me what the requirements for the Royal Menagerie battalions are? And the effect is a d3 heal when the beasts are close to each other, right?
And I assume the new traits for TGs and ZD are instead of a trait for a character, not extra, right (that would be a bit much, but one can still hope)?

How about rerolls for the maw attack?
Lots of oh so sweet sixes ...

That is really HUGE
Yes, especially seen as you can get rerolls easily enough for that, too.

What I hate most about that battalion is the recycling of 40k names ...
