The scale mismatch might look odd ^^
The Evaki is not all that big, either.

With Gimp you could do that, but it would be a lot of work.
What was used in the thread you qoted is Battle Chronicler:

Do people have the base size for the endless spell umbral portal?
Should be 40mm.

GKoTG - bite mount trait, monstrous spell
Regent - spectral host
GK - deranged transformation
2 x flayer courtiers
deadwatch 6, 6, 3 flayers
Chalice
Why not exchange the GK and one of the courtiers to an Archregent that calls in a Varghulf?
Obviously, you'de lose the +1 attack spell, but gain so much more (most importantly, spare points, which this list doesn't have many of).I'd assumed in BJs list that maybe he didn't have a second AR so soon after release.

I imagine you really want the Savage Strike benefit to be on the GKoTG though. At that point it's also a debate between "do I wanna summon in 3 Flayers\Horrors or 1 Varghulf?".
I think combatwise, the GKoTG is potentially so much better than the ZD, I'd definitely go for the TG.

Doesn't seem like many are doing that.
Check a couple pages back. FEC list from Sheffield (Ben Johnson) was Royal Menagerie. Came second place, iirc.

Ah, okay then. So the math stays the same. It's a wash ...

Wondering if giving 30 blades +1 to hit would mathhammer out better than 15 blades +1 attack
If those 30 had 2 attacks, it comes out the same.
If you had buffed them to 3 attacks, the 30 would come out ahead.
But max unit size is 20, so I'm not sure what you're thinking about?

Any thoughts on this?
This is correct.
If you go back a couple of pages, this was discussed quite a bit, detailing what advantages such a set-up might have.

See, if you would have put a quarter of the energy you just spent arguing with me into your intital post, this would have never happened.
But really, this is the last I will say about this. It isn't really worth it, you know? -
Of course, you win.

There is always the possibility to ask, or to elaborate.
Just firing off one-word answers to a new member is just not very welcoming. Surely you must be able to see that? -

Magnetise!
Telling somebody who starts with the hobby to magnetize Horrors/Flayers seems a bit ... inappropriate.
But maybe that's just me.4 hours ago, Slaanesh_in_Sewer said:In this case, the Flayer seems better?
Yes, in small groups Flayers are better. Also, when summoning them in from the sides/back, the can get to stuff faster than Horrors can.

Don't think that's gonna happen.
FEC and NH don't really go together. And with Deadwalkers, Deathlords and Deathmages, GW has already shown the direction they see for FEC.

It went 5-0, but it's pretty easy to imagine that most of his opponents were unsure on how to handle FEC at this early stage.
Plus, it was played by Ben Johnson, who's been around like forever and a real veteran. I think it's strong list, but I'm not sure it's the strongest list FEC can deliver. Time will tell.

FEC is terrifying at 1000 points
Yes, makes sense, because it has re-summons AND powerful big beasties.

at the 1000 point level
Most people claim 1000 points is not balanced period.
Anything that summons (or re-summons) gets vastly more powerful at that level. Anything that has big beasties is also a lot more powerful than in 2000 points.

Legions of nagash gets a lot of hate
Don't think Legions of Nagash get any hate, it's just Nagash himself that isn't well liked. The book is certainly strong, but no S-tier without Nagash. And a lot of people just feel fatigued playing against the same list over and over again (very little variation in Nagash tournament lists) and the battle just being about that one model.
Kill Nagash early enough, you win. Don't kill him, you most likely lose. Some people just think that there's more exciting battles to be had ...

Wings
Unless you're up against a very shooty army and want to use woods as LOS-blockers. Wings means you'll still be shot, a mount wouldn't.

I was wondering the viability of a dryad horde list
Very viable. Add the casters (branchwhyches & brachwraiths, which are basically also almost dryads) and Durthu plus Alarielle (which would be awesome riding some Merwyrm, coming from the sea), and you have more or less a cookie-cutter tournament list.
Beware of the fact though, that there are rumours that a new battletome might be coming soon. And then, nobody knows what's viable and what isn't.

Can I use a plague priest on plague furnace for a foulrain congregation battalion?
No, it has to be a Plague Priest on foot.
As a rule, if something is written in Caps Lock, it's a keyword and then it can be anything with that keyword. If it is written normally, it has to be that exact warscroll.
